i`m just wondering i can`t get rid of lags in the Snesoid Emulator, also in Tiger Arcade, there are sound glitches all over the place,it is horrible..i`m running 2.3.3(xloud update) with doomlords kernel v3,i fiddled with all the settings but no cure, still occasional lags(gensoid on the other hand runs silky smooth, keeps me wondering..) the latest tiger arcade version is the worst for me,seems like every game is slowing down for a few seconds to 5fps or soemthing, then it speeds up to full speed, then lagging again, its driving me nuts..
what cpu governor do you guys use and what kernel scheduler,is it maybe because of the OC kernel that everything lags? (read about something with emulators and OC kernels, that they can cause lags)-i set it to noop scheduler and use the smartass v2 governor,OC is 1.2ghz,also tested it with stock speed or other scheduler settings like bfq or vr,no change..thinking about reverting to stock kernel just to see the difference..
I actually found that Snesoid really speeds up at 1.5ghz.. below that doesn't really do much for me. Definitely recommend sticking with smarta**v2 and noop though. Also you should use the latest firmware and latest DooMKernel for best speed.
thanks for the reply mate,i`ll give the latest firmware a try today, just to see if it will anything do to the emulator performance

Imo InteractiveX and noop is the best combination
Ive had no troubles with sensoid, all the games ive tried run at full speed even at the stock 1ghz.
Maybe you should try some other snes emulators, Snes9x is my favorite. You can get it free at the devs website: http://www.explusalpha.com/home/snes9x-ex/downloads

hi I have searched but to no success, I need the best Rom for gaiming and oc kernel I mean which is going to give me best performance and fps on games like backstab which lag abit. cola Rom looks perfect but it's only for cdma :-( so can someone who's played abit with roms on there play give me some advice please as I have finally gone and unlocked my bootloader thanks in advance and any help will be appreciated
The best for gaming is stock rom + custom kernel (like eg. DoomKernel) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176502)
For me it works on every game without lags (OC to 1.21 gHz)

thanks for reply, you have no lag on any game just by upping cpu by 200mhz ? is your stock se Rom bloat free ? I was thinking maybe oc by atleast 1.4 to really notice improvements because backstab lags quite abit in some places
with this kernel u got root and u can (using Titanium Backup) delete all bloatware from SE.
U can OC to max 2 gHz but i think it drain to much battery and i dont need more than 1.21 gHz, but if i find a game with lugs i change it.
doom kernel here I come
Best Gaming Rom + Kernel
Best Gaming rom is:
NXT Gaming 1.2
Its amazing All the tweaks in it together make it so fast i dont even use oc unless im like playing MC4(Yea,mc4,I can play mc4,The game that lagged so much on the xperia play,I can play it at minimal 30 Fps,i even get 50 somtimes and in cutscenes i get around 60)
I also use Lupus GB,It is truly amazing,I used to use Doomkernal because of its 1.8Ghz Oc capability but Lupus is truly faster,I got on average 30 FPs with Lupus @ 1.2 Ghz vs Doomkernal at 1.2 Ghz i got on average 26
I mesured all this with an app in the appstore called FPS Meter
Hope this helped!
Hi. I want to know which kernel is best for the best gaming experience. I want to play without lagging. Can anyone help me?

I have already try this but the games are lagging (Reckless Racing 1 and 2, Rainbow Six, etc..). Can it be beacouse i am on stock rom?
What version of Doomkernel do you have? v11 and v13 2013 have a GPU overclock which caused some of our phones to underperform. v13 3013 should be fine for everyone.
I actually got very slightly higher 3D graphics Antutu scores with Darkforest kernel, but the battery life was better on Doomkernel (this is judging on JokaWild 2.5 rom) so stuck with that.
I am using Doom Kernel oc'd to 1.6ghz on a Stock R800X build, and game performance has improved dramatically over the Stock Kernel. Shadowgun and GTA3 used to be stuttering, laggy and unplayable. Now they are both smooth and enjoyable.

Good point, I would steer clear of ANY gpu overclocking. It has always had bad effects on my devices. Cpu overclocking is fine and recommended.
What about best Rom for gaming ?

The Rom I'm on (JokaWild 2.5) has boot scripts in \system\etc\init.d\ ...
I/O scheduler is SIO (I don't know what's best here)
CPU max/min on boot I'd modified to 1017600/364800 (SmartassV2). I only overclock as and when I need to.
I bought Reckless Racing 1 and Shadowgun when I was stock ROM + kernel and they never seemed to lag, although I didn't play them that much. Just reinstalled and had a spin of Reckless and it seems fine.
Do you find the homescreens / interface lagging as a whole? I had a problem on Doomkernel to start with where it would boot up at 921MHz max, and lag like crazy. I think it's because the CPU frequency table in Doomkernel is different to stock (eg. 1017600 instead of 1024000). Using OC/UV Beater 1.7 or SetCPU etc, or the boot script I've just mentioned, makes sure it's at the Doomkernel frequencies, and made the problem go away.
This might be someone else with the same issue on the Arc, I never took a logcat unfortunately.
Hey guys.
I wanted to know to get the best performance in the game, what steps do you go?
And what is the best ROM for the game? No matter the Jelly Belly 's or IceCream Sandwich, just tell me which are the best thing that I need?
For example, running the Batman, or Modern Combat 3
ROM and personalization capabilities of its beauty is not important to me. I just want to run games smoothly!
Please tell:
1 Android version that you use
2 Which ROM do you use?
3 Which kernel do you use?
4 Do you use (a) special program(s)?
5 and personal experience ....
6 What suggestions do you have?
The goal is to minimize the lag in games
Thanks
Very much

I wouldn't worry about the ROM. Just get a fast kernel with an overclocked GPU. Stable Trinity kernel has just been released in several overclock variations. Just use the fastest one that runs on your gnex without problems. Might try the 1420/384 or 1420/537. Then use Trinity Kernel Toolkit to turn up the minimum CPU speed one notch, from 307 to 6##. That makes more of a difference than overclocking the maximum CPU speed IMO. Experiment with different governor settings, too. The default (on-demand) is better for battery life than performance. Works on practically any Jellybean based ROM, and there's a version for ICS too. You can also play with the hardware overlay and force GPU settings in gnex developer section.
I agreee with strumcat. Kernel matters most, and Trinity is what I'm using now. And yeah, setting the governor and the min CPU will help.
Thank you!
You know?
I remember when Jelly bean was released, I tried Franco kernel & Trinity kernel on ice cream sandwich , both in frequency of 384 (or 386, can not remember) were stable, but at frequencies 512 (or higher) when running games, everything was corrupted and I could not play!
(Even the samurai against zombies!)
(I do not know this problem has recently been solved or not)
The problem is the ROM or the kernel?
(I am a novice in the use of kernel; Whether a particular adjustment would be done that I forget?)
Different phones are able to handle different amounts of overclocking. But I'd guess that the TNP1344-384-JB-STABLE Trinity kernel would work on most gnex phones without trouble. The 537 GPU has trouble on some phones but not others. So your experience was not unusual and doesn't indicate any inherent problem with the Trinity or Franco kernels. The higher speed kernels aren't really for everyday use.
hey buddy!!!
u know what's my setting for playing
Hello guys and girls, i just installed the Cyanogen MOD 10 by FXP Team and i was wondering what settings i should use in the "Performance" tab, for Min CPU, MAX CPU, RAM and I/O Scheduler. I just wanna use my phone for daily use and also games from time to time. Any other tweaks or ideeas ?
Thanks!

For daily use I recommended same settings like masteril said. For gaming use 1600 Mhz/249 Mhz, performance, deadline.
for daily use, if your using turbo kernel, i'd say for the governor = intellidemand and for the I/O = sio; max clock 1.018 GHz and min clock 184 MHz. I got amazing battery time with those settings just listening to music and playing online casual games and emulators, but sadly Jelly Bean and emulators don't get along very well because most of the "oid" emulators don't work properly on Jelly Bean (not just CM10, PACMAN and Paranoid also) and when ever I touched the touchpads the games stared to lag. So I went back to Gingerbread for gaming, best battery and smoothness
I have been using Omega Rom from version 8 up to version 18, then switched to ProBam, then Pacman, and now I'm back on Omega 19, giving the "official" 4.3 a shot.
I have tried many many settings and kernels to get this game run without a lag.
So far, I have seen no lag when using performance governor while playing for a few minutes (no overclocking the CPU or GPU) that was it...
Every other setup gives lag, more or less. The second best setup would be pegasusq governor, not much changes when overclocking CPU or GPU, or both.
Using a stock kernel is also not bad, but lags every now and then. (not dependant on Rom)
But I want to get the sound settings from trickster mod for example, so I feel like I need a custom kernel with my Rom of choice.
So, does anyone have a good setup that matches performance governor, but does not stick permanently to maximum CPU load?
I don't care about battery life, so I need a good performing setup.
(Just on a side note: when people say "there is no lag at all when scrolling through my homescreens" then I can only think that this should be normal with ANY setup. And I never had any lag while scrolling through my homescreens, except while I was using my HTC Hero...)
I would very much appreciate if someone with the same goal could help me out, or someone knows the default settings of the stock kernel...
Or is this whole idea just utopic, because the game is badly coded?
