(Please test this patchs with your own risk).
Step-by-step guide:
1. Fully wipe your system
2. Install VU 2.39 via CM and donot reboot, go to next step
3. Flash GSM Patch and reboot
4. There something let you force close but just ignore it
5. Goto Wireless & Networks Setting and set your preferred Network to GSM only (ignore FC)
6. Goto GSM/UMTS Options and set/save your APN; then reboot

Hi zozor, did you set your APN and reboot? My experiment that I have to set APN manually. And I have to change the network type in Testing Menu (use dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#*).

I am doing it right now
I can not get the APN list , how do you do it, and the 3G icon disappear when settings

have you enabled mobile networks and setted up the apn?
if you having problem with the apn you can try the patch for the mms on the virtuos unity discussion, post number 4
i solved with an app called "apn italiani" , it delete all the older apn and setup the working ones....

look on the virtuous unity forum, inc2 section, batteri,35,crossair mod...

I already done this , but nothing happen still not have 3G , gprs . edge ,nothing to get internet ,

Any way to add GPS function without a wipe? I'm usually CDMA, but will be in Europe for a week. I was just planning to reload Vivow Stock ROM which works great with Sim/CDMA (used it last month). Seem like a full wipe will set me back far more time and hassle-wise than going to stock for a week and then back to VU2.3.9 when I return.

Thanks a lot

thanks , Do you intend to issue a GSM Patch for the New Rom Virtuous Affinity ?

I've been waiting for some kind of problems with this patch but.. NOTHING HAPPENS!
THIS IS A GREAT WORK MAN! YOU'VE GOT A PIECE OF HEAVEN 'CAUSE THIS PATCH!

GREAT!!
Just took the chance and went back to my VU 2.39 while in Rome. Loaded the patch WITHOUT any wipe at all. Rebooted and the sim card I bought here works for my data and for phone no problem whatsoever.
I do not have choice on my phone to select GSM only... just GSM/UMTS. When I hit this, no further options occur.

is anyone can help me to mirroring the rom?
i want to try this rom..

Will post in Some time

[Q] Mobile Data doesn't work with Non-Sense Custom ROMS??

Hello Android Lovers!
So my HTC One X is rooted and I have a Sense 4+ ROM currently installed.
Basically, whenever I have tried to installed a Non-Sense ROM (for e.g. Paranoid Android), everything works fine... Except the Mobile Data! (A VERY BIG Inconvenience! )
Whenever the phone switches on, I don't know if the data just takes long to load, or if it's even working at all, but the 'H+' symbol never seems to show up - this really annoys me, because I really want to stick with a Non-Sense ROM!
Any help for a fix guys?
Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:

only really use stock rooted so not really sure about other roms but maybe flash one and check the right apn is ticked in network settings
in the settings, under wireless and networks:
More... => Mobile Networks => Access Point Names => Select your APN
Did you try other custom ROM's as well?
If so, there must be a problem with the APN like tomascus said,
if the problem only exists in this particular ROM, contact the creator or search the forum/web for bug reports or fixes

[Q] Minor tweaks for the E980H Panama ROM on AT&T E980 to make LTE stick on

Hello all,
I know this should be asked in the Development section, but I'm such a noob I can't post there yet lol. I have a quick question for those who flashed the Panama E980H ROM on the AT&T E980. (see this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438088)
Well, first of all, I did it. It's the best ROM there is (in terms of fidelity to stock LG software without the carrier crap). Even the boot animation is pure LG.
Everything works perfectly, too. There's just one problem: I guess the E980H for Panama doesn't have LTE connectivity, because there is not an option to set the phone for LTE/WCDMA/GSM (Auto) like on the Telcel or AT&T Rom. Only WCDMA/GSM or GSM [Auto]. So, I did *#*#4636#*#* and set it to LTE/GSM/WCDMA, and badda bang I'm on T-Mobile's LTE. But that's a pain in the arse because it only lasts until you next start the phone (similar to enabling LTE on a Nexus 4 pre 4.2.2 firmware). And LTE is important to me.
So, my question is this: is there a permanent way to enable LTE on the E980H Panamanian firmware? I'm willing to put up with selecting LTE manually since the ROM is so sweet, but if there is a permanent solution to make that setting stick I would appreciate the insight.
Thanks in advance! (If you're thinking of flashing this ROM, do it - totally stock LG, fast, smooth, beautiful. Without all the AT&T or Telcel garbage). As far as I can tell, it most closely resembles the Telcel ROM but, like I said, without all their crap. Stable and smooth. :good:
I am definitely going to flash it. My device (AT&T E980) is on Telcel right now and though the amount of bloatware is much less than AT&T, it's still quite a lot for my taste.
Thanks for providing the information.

Yes, sadly I believe you were right. My solution didn't work after all. I'm not surprised
You know what I tried now? I booted into safe mode, accessed Testing menu > set network type, rebooted, and so far it's sticking.
Let's hope this is the one...
Any ideas you might brainstorm in the meantime I welcome
QuickRemote...
Hey, has anyone else noticed that the QuickRemote app on the Panamanian E980H is different from Telcel's E980H and AT&T's E980? Like, I've noticed it lacks support for Insignia/Dynex televisions, which the other ones most certainly had. I don't understand it.
Another minor quirk that matters a great deal to me, since I have a lot of Dynex and Insignia TVs around. Grr...
Could we port the other app? And, what's the differences between them anyway? If someone on AT&T or Telcel's ROM wouldn't mind looking and reporting, I have QuickRemote version 3.2.3 on the Panamanian E980H.
Thanks guys! Strange, strange...

Could you explain what maybe we could help? What was you wanting to look at?
I was doing to check the Androidmanifest.xml to see if the option was still in there perhaps, if not i have another thought on the reason why. Also try to see if the option was still there on other stock roms if i use the Panama apks instead. Maybe it's vendor script that removes the LTE option since they don't support it but it should still embedded in the stock firmware.
I wanted to check the apks before installing the Panama rom first, don't have time to backup at moment but will try my luck after getting off my 2nd job if i can stay awake long enough lol.
Way to permanently enable lte!

VERY EXCITED!!!
To permanently enable LTE on the Panamanian ROM, do the following:
With the device on:
1.) Hold down the power key.
2.) Select and HOLD "Power off" until the device prompts you to restart in Safe Mode. Press OK to reboot into Safe Mode.
3.) Device will reboot. Upon startup, do the following:
4.) Go to Phone.
5.) Dial *#*#4636#*#*. Testing menu will open.
6.) Go to Phone information > Preferred network type > "LTE/GSM/WCDMA [Auto]"
7.) Select that one, or whatever you prefer.
8.) Press home key.
9.) Hold down the power key.
10.) Select "Power off." Phone will turn off.
Upon startup, the device will remember that preferred network mode. Mine has - it hasn't fallen off of LTE since. DO NOT reselect a different network type in Testing, or the settings for LTE will not be retained.
11.) Enjoy! Hope this helps. If you gave it a try or it helped you (worked for me! :laugh, please press "Thanks!" I need all the help I can get around here.
Since several of you are on the Panama ROM in this thread... would anyone be so kind as to share the bootanimation.zip?
That did not work for me. What are you calling the "Home Button"? The middle one with the LED? That brings up task manager, nothing else. Thanks.
Hmmmm not sure but when I got my Note i717 and flash a non US Rom and not got the LTE settings I modify the build.prop but right now not remember what I edited.

DOES NOT WORK!. DOES NOT WORK! I think the best solution would be to get the ROM: LG Optimus G PRO (Model: LG E981H). This have this option enabled 4G LTE in the same bands of AT & T, which are: Network: GSM850/900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 850/1900/2100 + LTE (B4, B17)

Very strange. Please follow the guide perfectly. Also realize that it wormed perfectly for me. And BTW I do not have AT&T.
Sometimes, my network indicator says "3G" when its really on "4G" (LTE) or "H+". Not sure why this is. Do not trust the indicator; always go to the Settings menu where it says "Network type: LTE" to see that it is connected. Third party apps like Ookla sometimes invalidate the icon and show you have LTE too.

It worked, and continues to work for me, to this day. Also, does the Argentina ROM have branding? Like a carrier logo on startup or a bunch of their bloatware?
First of all, thanks for the info about *#*#4636#*#* This made me flashing the PANAMA stock rom on my AT&T E980 very worthwhile.
As for the LTE tweak, I went in using the dial code for testing and tried a few things out. First I selected GSM/WCDMA/LTE (Auto), but it resets to GSM (Auto) upon restarting the phone. So I tried the method going Safe Mode and all, and still the same result. But then I tried LTE/WCDMA only, and it sticks!!! I didn't have to go to Safe Mode, and it doesn't revert back to anything when I restart.
BTW, I have a non rooted stock Panama rom. I'm very happy now.
langs
The panama E980 version still has 6 languages in it like the AT&T version has?

I747 bluetooth issue - best build/kernel?
I just loaded the 8/24 nightly CARBON-KK-NIGHTLY-20140824-0205-d2lte.zip and all seemed great on the phone except the bluetooth will not switch from handset to BT headset during a call. I can use the BT headset if I start the call with it.
I'm looking to change builds, but not sure if I should go to something like 09/05 or back to 06/17. Also, I'm on the stock kernel MJB.. Looks like people have success on the DKP kernel.
Any recommendations of direction just to get the BT headset working? Its a Motorola.

Is your modem and bootloader up-to-date?
Unalive3, if updating your firmware to NJ1 doesn't fix your GPS, then check out the GPS issues section of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40763740#post40763740
Method 1 worked for me. I had to flash a TouchWiz ROM to get into the Samsung service mode. enewman17 has a recovery flashable return to stock for pretty much every firmware if you search the forums. After applying the NVRAM rebuild I was able to restore a nandroid of the AOSP rom I had been on previously and GPS started working again.
---------- Post added at 10:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 AM ----------
In this ROM does 4G = LTE and 3G = HPSA / HPSA+?
I flashed the 11-06 build on an AT&T GS3. I'm in a good LTE coverage area, but the label on the status bar says 4G.
In preferred network type the only options are 2G, 3G, and 4G, no LTE. APN is configured for ATT LTE, and About Phone -> Status shows mobile network type as LTE. I think everything is working as it should and I'm just getting confused by labeling, but I wanted to ask and make sure.

Yes, they don't exist. They auto-populated in liquidsmooth so I'm not sure why they wouldn't here. Whenever I tried to enter APNs, they do they save at all.

I have bounced between a number of roms until I came upon this one, so far the experience I have had with this rom with leankernel has been exceptional. Great work! I would like to pick up the Samsung MHL adapter but I was wondering if it would work with this rom. I am aware that HDMI-out support on non touch-wiz roms is often spotty or buggy. Is the status of MHL support known with this carbon rom?

Go back to OOS 3.2.6 or flash any custom Lollipop or Marshmallow ROM. (I'd recommend Lollipop) Go to 4636 menu. Set radioband selection to automatic. Then upgrade to CB or whatever you like.
P.S. Obviously you'll have to wipe the data while downgrading. Sorry mate.

Currently rooted with Android 5.1.1, unlocked padlock at startup. Baseband N910VVRU2BOF1. TWRP installed. Have been able to wipe system/data/cache partitions and restore from backup successfully.
Has anyone managed to change the running software to the international version, N910F successfully ? I have not done this before.

lol the note 4 is not sim locked I'm using cricket wireless on my vzw varient. you just have to manually enter your service providers apn info....side note also true for note 3 (smn 900v) as far as international roms go ....I have had 0 luck since the upgrade to marshmallow. on lollipop all I used were international roms. I'm pretty sure the boot image patch needed for hsbadr roms killed it for me. his rom has 0 bloat anyway .

OK this should apply to marshmallow definetly nougat. in settings go to more (at top 3rd option) cellular networks cellular operators. look in upper right corner for 3dot menu it has add apn manually. Google apngeisha find your carrier and then just fill in the appropriate info. if you are unrooted you will get an error message stating its not a Verizon sim but it won't affect functionality

wow that is an old firmware bro ...jeez that phone must have sat for a while b4 it found its new home. fyi u can borrow a friends sim to upgrade to marshmallow (I did) just enter apn info and get her done. ****if you are not the person who rooted it you will want to become familiar with the process its challenging the first run through the phone can crash midway in I personally refer to the simplified guide to unlock by Dr.cool on xda. the files in his post you might want to replace with newer but the man knew how to break this process down. best of luck man.

I am somewhat familiar with rooting it..
What i don't seem to understand is how to move the phones software from N910V ROM to a N910F ROM - a few people have said on this site that this is possible, but I haven't found out how they did this. If this is possible, what needs to be changed and in what order.

Could you explain this a little to me - forgive me not understanding about this concept..
So the ROM doesn't change, but you run a patch against the current software ? Where is the patch run from, TWRP ?

best pet is its universal for all 910f/g roms on lollipop. not gonna lie I do miss the options. I mean the system as a whole works better now but you used to have like 30 different roms to experiment with (I reccomend simplrom with either simpl or emotion kernel .....I've never scene anywhere near that mny governors or modules in a kernel before. that being said I'm sure less than half could really improve android but like I said having so many choices is truly something else. why I put this phone only a step or two behind the note 3 which litteraly HD more development than 5 years worth of nexus's . this is s close as I've seen since.

Current flashing to 'N910VVRU2CPF3_N910VVZW2CPF3_N910VVRU2CPF3_HOME.tar.md5' (6.0.1 stock i think) - will the data fix still be applicable ?
And how is the data fix applied - TWRP 'install' ?
