[Q] Netflix says its not compatible with my S2, any thoughts? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi everyone,
Before my S2 was rooted and loaded with EaglesBlood Netflix was working properly, but after that whenever I try to pull up the app with my phone it takes me to the android market and says that Netflix isn't compatible with my device.
Any thoughts on how I can solve this?
Thanks.

Are you running any apps that change the screen/lcd density? This will cause that to happen.

Know any workaround for this? Or do I have to set it back to normal whenever I want to get an app?

revert back to 240 when finished installing, just go back to the density that you want. It will work after that. It seems the installer is checking up on screen resolution prior to installing/downloading.

Yep, this is the "solution." It's very odd that Google has decided to enforce a pixel density standard....

I know why be worried about the desity?

Maybe its because when you program for Android you set images and layout objects based on density and screen size if you want to make your app dynamic. Android pulls this information from the app and lays out the GUI based on what folders they layout objects are in.

160 dpi on ics 27?

I was running dark 1.01, which has 160dpi default and sort of got used to it.
I moved to 27, yet using LCD density app, it won't stick to 160 on reboot
Anyone know how to get it to stay at 160, while dark is getting updated?
Thanks

It will only stick if you use ROM Toolbox.
Or change it in the build prop.
thanks, that program did the trick

Can the DPI be changed on the fly or does it require a reboot. I'm on the same ROM as OP and love it for browsing but it also makes some apps funky so itd be sweet to be able to change on the fly.

i've used one called LCD Resolution and when it changed it, it didnt do a "full" reboot; but a quick "system restart" . thats how i update my market apps. it's a really quick restart too. just be sure to turn wifi off after it restarts and then back on. it doesnt stick for some reason.
edit: not too sure if it works on ics

Anyone have the Snapchat 1.3 apk?

Hoping to get this app working on my nexus 7. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: Or even lower versions might work.
I just tried to side load it and it FC's once you get past the steps to create an account... I think you're s.o.l.
Can you post the apk anyway?

I grabbed the newest version from the play store. I couldn't find a reliable source to DL it from outside that. So if the newest version is 1.3 then yes.
Edit-- just checked the play store again. It is indeed 1.3

Sorry for bringing up a month old thread, but along with the screen density possibly being a factor, maybe it force closes due to Snapchat starting the app using the rear camera, which bviously we don't have. Maybe there is a way we can tweak it to set the FFC as default and maybe that will stop it from force closing?

thats a great idea i tried the current 1.6 version and i always have the same force quit after i log in so its nothing to do with the density since the app starts up normaly until i log in.
Well we can try the screen density idea make everything larger so its like a phone, if that works maybe somehow we can extract the application and MOD it for a 7' screen by changing the supported resolutions or DPI.
But if doing any of that doesn't work then we are out of luck unless someone can really change the app.

I've pulled the app from my phone and installed it on here. It'll force close after you sign in but then if you open it and receive a snap you can see the menu with all your history and even view the snap but if you try to take a snap it force closes so it must be because it defaults to the ffc
Anyone got it working on N7?
Some one wanna try this version
snapchat1.6.apk
I would, but i shattered my screen last night and it's unusable... (Thank God for accidental damage insurance)
OK. Got may tab repaired... and it doesn't work...
I sent å request to snapchat team and got this mail back:
At this time, there is not a way to dowload older versions of Snapchat. Unfortunately, Snapchat is not compatible with your Nexus 7 device. However, we are always working on ways to improve Snapchat and plan on making it available to more devices in the near future. We appreciate all your support.

Battlefield 4 Commander App broken?

I can't get it to load into any servers on my new 8.4. The app will load and I can select a server but then it just hangs at a black screen forever. I've tried letting it pick servers and I've selected a server through Battlelog and get the same result either way. I've tried on different wifi networks too so it isn't a network issue. Anyone else run into this or am I the only loser wasting time playing Commander at work lol

It doesn't work for me either, it's a tablet specific issue for us, as it works just fine on my Nexus 5.
I sit at the black screen too, I think it may be a resolution issue but I'm not 100%, the thread with the apk on here explains a bit more on how to fix the black screen issue but it's for phones running, but I assume it would work for our tablet as well but I'm not running a rom so no Xposed framework to edit the obb.

[Q] Changing the LCD DPI Density

Hi everyone!
So, let's suppose that we have a rooted LG G3 (done with the current rooting methods), running stock ROM. Because I always like to cramp as many widgets on the home screen as possible, I want to change the DPI density of the screen (usually 3-rd party launchers allow you to only rescale the shortcuts, but not the widgets). We coud use the Texdroider app from the Play store, but it changes the DPI globally, so I'm worried it might harm the phone... Another way would be to install Xposed Framework - but can it be installed already safely at this point?
Of course ruining the stock Launcher by changing the DPI is not a problem, as I always use some 3-rd party Launchers that can handle layouts more flexibly
I'm also interested in changing LCD density on G3.
Has anyone done it?

Tnx, but I was thinking on global change. On my old GS2 it was matter of simply editing build.prop file.
My setting was 182 which was great. But I remember that if you over do it, phone will not boot and without nandroid backup it is quite risky.

Use Textroid - You can use Build.Prop it'll work fine, just go no lower than around 400 or you will run into issues (for the record stock is 650)

Actually 640 is default.
Anyway, 530 is the lowest value. Any below that and apps will start to FC.
Pitty, because on 450 screen is amazing!

It is not much as I expected, but still it is better then stock density.
It's a keeper.
changed it to 580 and its bootlooping now. any help?
well...this is kinda roundabout so it works and I'm not complaining...I disabled or removed all of my AT&T apps and the useless LG ones...so I set my dpi to 450 and changed the per app dpi to 530 for the lg apps...problem solves...especially since I barely use the lg apps.

I did the same thing and I'm stuck on this wretched infinite boot loop. Did you get any help on this if so can you please post the fix to your woes?
EDIT: So I tried to use the built-in factory reset ... nothing doing. STILL boot looping. I'm wondering if I should start panicking now? haha

LG apps can't go below 530 DPI. You'll need to individually them to 530 or higher to keep them from crashing.

Need Asus Power Saver APK

For whatever reason the Power Saver app on my ZE551ME doesn't work and I am pretty sure it never has as far as me launching it. It has popped up twice after updates but when I have tried to launch it I get "Unfortunately, Power Saver has stopped."
If someone, anyone, can pull the APK or whatever files needed for it so I can try to get mine working I would GREATLY appreciate it.

It took me few days, lots of googling, few factory resets to accidently come to this conclusion do a DPI reset and it should start working. Keep in mind that if you are rooted you can directly do it from your device without connecting to PC. Hope that helps.
It can be fixed and keep the dpi.

It did help. I had changed the DPI so I could use the Asus Launcher with five icons across. After seeing your question and reading the thread on the Asus Launcher possibly draining the battery I reset my DPI and moved to Nova Launcher. Switching the DPI back worked for letting Power Saver launch. Much appreciated.
