Hi all,
i'm having a problem locking the bootloader on my r800i. when i flash the relock ftf, the phone just wont boot, all i get is the power on vibration. the phone isnt bricked as flashtool will still let me re-flash the rom which then allows the phone to boot. i cant understand why its become a problem as its let me lock the bootloader in the past. all i'm trying to do is stop any possible ota update mishaps. any ideas would be appreciated. i'm running stock 2.3.3 build .368 with doom v3 kernel
tom
would freezing the update manager using titanium backup stop any ota updates??

Problem with my Xperia Play
Hi, I have an Xperia Play that I have unlocked the bootloader on and installed a custom kernel. Everything worked just fine until weeks after I did these things the screen suddenly went black and the phone turned off. I have not been able to start it since it happend, when I try to boot the phone it will just vibrate and then nothing, the screen stays black. Even if it does not boot the computer recognizes it and I can flash roms with flashtools etc. I have tried alot of different roms and returned to stock kernel, I have even re-locked the bootloader and made a clean update with SEUS but without success, nothing happens on the screen. Have anyone had the same issue? Thanks! /David
brick
hi, I just got a xperia play from a friend of mine. He rooted it and updated and it probably got bricked by the update. It doesn't do anything. When you push power it just buzzes. Now I don't have really that much information. but I think he unlocked the bootloader and flashed to root.
now for wat I have tried. I searched for solutions for this problem. That's when I came upon the flashtool. I tried flashing it simply with the generic_uk firmware. But it didn't do anything. Further research landed me upon a FOTAUnbrick tool. I read some of the information but I didn't really get it (most of the times I do know what i'm doing). So in my "nothing to lose spirit" i just tried it and guess what ? nothing. Now I know this is really vague and probably doesn't have a solution. But I'm keeping my hopes up for someone to bust this bugger.
Hi,
I've just got the latest update. I'm on a rooted stock rom with unlocked bootloader and TWRP. I know I have to return to stock recovery before updating, but do I need to relock?
If not, will I still have root after updating? will the bootloader stay unlocked?
Thanks!
Yes bootloader can stay unlocked and will be unlocked after the update, root will be automatically be removed. You can reroot afterwards
Thanks for your quick reply.
I've also noticed something wierd with my keyboards (stock and swiftkey3) - When pressing '7' through the digit keyboard or longpress, in some apps the app crashes and restarts. can't punch in a password for my health care!
any ideas?
If you are on stock rom....no don't have an idea at the moment

I think you can keep your bootloader unlocked.
Just download an official ROM FTF file for your phone and flash it using Androxyde's FlashTool. It should debrick your phone. Then, you can repeat your experiments with custom ROMs.
Regards, Pavel
i have tried using it but no change..

I'm using Xperia m dual c2004.I tried to unlock the bootloader. Several times using the procedure given in the Sony developer, did everything correctly. But the phone goes into a bootloop after which the only option is flashing the stock rom.
I tried unlocking the bootloader the otherway by using flash tool but it doesn't have my phone's drivers. And the link to download them doesn't work anymore (found it in a thread)
The are no roms for lb for my device (plz tell me if you know any)
I checked my bootloader status by going into *#*#bla bla code then service tests and security And the service Status was active which means bootloader is locked.
When I go to service menu and config my phone's rooting status is showing bootloader unlocked.buti don't think it is ul but it just has the Permissions.
Please help me I'm not able to flash roms because of this.

When you successfully unlocked bootloader you should go to bootloader mode with key combination when restarting phone and install custom recovery. Naturally without loaded drivers in computer it has no sense to try it.
Hey guys, I've been facing this issue for a while now and haven't been able to figure it out. On one screen, under diagnostics I find a meagre which tells me I have an update available for my device, where as on the other it tells me I'm up to date. Currently I'm running 5.0.2 My device is rooted and bootloader is unlocked. Have I in the process of trying to unlock my boot loader messed something up? Is there a place where I can get the latest firmware for my Indian Compact to flash using the software??
Thanks in advance

Sony updates won't work with unlocked bl. You'll have to use Flashtool/Xperifirm, or relock bl, then update.
Flashtool homepage here - http://www.flashtool.net/ Xperifirm is integrated in newer versions. Download fw with Xperifirm, then flash with Flashtool
