Facepalm about what?
Yes, his post might be in the wrong forum section, but his question is not at all "stupid" or anything.

There are more files than that!
- framework-res.apk
- settings.apk
- systemUI.apk
- android.policy.jar
- framework.jar
You must decompile / recompile, modify a lot of data, have some files in conjunction with others and I forget again ... this is really hard ... seriously, if you do not know what, he returns, I advise you to learn a max before.

Ive been trying to learn more about this myself.. Like how to edit .9 images and xmls. I have been searching for guides and just going by trial and error but it seems like im at a dead end.. Cant find enough info to even get started. Editing png files with paint.net is easy, but if anyone could point me in the right direction for a place to learn how to go more in depth with xml and .9s, it would be greatly appreciated.

Get the android.policy.jar from SkyICS, extract the classes.dex, and add that classes.dex to our ROM's android.policy.jar ... android.policy.jar is in /system/framework/

Hello Everyone,
Last time I faced with that problem to. All I was needed I found here so thank You for sharing information and fix. :good:
Because it wasn't working when I did changes in build.prop and I don't like flash unknown files (version, source)
I did some research and there is result. All what You need is:
1) change line in build.prop
from:
Code:
persist.sys.usb.config=mtp
to:
Code:
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage
2) add value:
Code:
android:allowMassStorage="true"
in framework-res.apk/res/xml/storage_list.xml
where oryginal line look like this:
Code:
<storage android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard0" android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card" android:primary="true" android:removable="true" android:maxFileSize="4096" />
after change look like this:
Code:
<storage android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard0" android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card" android:primary="true" android:removable="true" android:allowMassStorage="true" android:maxFileSize="4096" />
After that You'll get another option in storage configuration panel.
Tested on my Sony LwW, CM10 FXP203. :victory:
