Hello Everyone,
Last time I faced with that problem to. All I was needed I found here so thank You for sharing information and fix. :good:
Because it wasn't working when I did changes in build.prop and I don't like flash unknown files (version, source)
I did some research and there is result. All what You need is:
1) change line in build.prop
from:
Code:
persist.sys.usb.config=mtp
to:
Code:
persist.sys.usb.config=mass_storage
2) add value:
Code:
android:allowMassStorage="true"
in framework-res.apk/res/xml/storage_list.xml
where oryginal line look like this:
Code:
<storage android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard0" android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card" android:primary="true" android:removable="true" android:maxFileSize="4096" />
after change look like this:
Code:
<storage android:mountPoint="/storage/sdcard0" android:storageDescription="@string/storage_sd_card" android:primary="true" android:removable="true" android:allowMassStorage="true" android:maxFileSize="4096" />
After that You'll get another option in storage configuration panel.
Tested on my Sony LwW, CM10 FXP203. :victory:

Take your ROM zip and open it with WinRAR or 7zip, navigate to system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/
You will find a file in there called statusbar_background.9.png
That is your status bar, color it black and stick it back into the ROM zip and reflash the ROM.
Doesn't get much easier than that...

To bake in an app can i just add the signed .apk into system/app/ folder in the actual ROM. zip?
I want to be able to Flash the ROM and be able to have my mostly used apps in there already. Is this possible by just doing that or would it need more scripts for them to be baked in. Please help. I am a noob

Yeah I would pass on doing that. It would probably open the door to too many flamers. What would be good if you made a flashable that would just flash TB and anything else into CM9.
oh ok. i was about to do it xP. so i can just get an already flashable zip then delete its contents other than the Meta-INF and then make /system/app folder and place all the apps i want installed all at once in the /app folder?
aslo, if you know anything about xml files. How can i change the name of the app that is displayed? I believe its in the AndroidManifest.xml? If it is how can i edit it?
What EXACTLY is decompile? is it just another word for extracting?

That should work. Try to find one that mounts system otherwise you will have to mount system in CWM before flashing.

Nononono you don't need eclipse at all unless editing source code. You must use apk multi-tool. Eclipse is very useful but in this situation use apk multi-tool and notepad++

As us Custom Rom users have found out.. Since coming out of Beta Google was nice enough to leave us without our "BELOVED CHROME"... I feel your pain my FELLOW MEMBERS!! This is what I did to get it to work and let me tell you...The NEW UPDATE IS FAAAAASSSTT!!! Also has some 3d animation going on as well... Without further adu...You will need Rom toolbox from the Market which I posted the link below... In Rom Toolbox there are 3 pages...If you swipe the screen to the left it will put you on page 2 (READS PERFORMANCE)..This is where YOU NEED TO BE.. TAP ON:build.prop Editor.....Scroll down to:ro.build.id and make sure it reads (IML74K) if it doesn't then change to IML74K.. Then click SAVE..Then Reboot and Download Chrome and then you should be all set to go...
EDIT:YOU "MUST" ALSO CHANGE:ro.build.display.id also to IML74K..... DON'T FORGET TO SAVE AFTER CHANGES ARE MADE!! THEN "REBOOT DEVICE!!
PLEASE READ:This will get browser working but only 25% of the time..Browser keeps freezing..Thanks to a few good members for the HEADS UP!! This community is AWESOME!!
If I helped in any way a friendly Thanks would be appreciated!! Good Luck PEEPS!!

Yeah, the size was off for me... To be more clear, I see the misalignment when I hit the settings softkey while on the homescreen, not in the settings menu itself.
I didn't have time to take any screenshots because I had to nandroid back and go to work. So this may be a one-off error for me.
