Sorry for a being a nuisance, but I tried to put the new doomkernel on my b/l unlocked and rooted play running generic 4.0.1.A283 using fastboot and it successfully loaded on fastboot but now I'm stuck in boot loop with doomkernel logo. I hope that is enough info to get some help, I read about clearing dalvik cache or something but I've never done it before and just need some advice before I do any more damage! Cheers.
Your loop could be that you flashed the the wrong doom kernel (wrong FW build)?
Extract the kernel.sin, with winrar/7z from the ftf file you flashed to your phone (FW 4.0.1.A.0.283) and place it in fastboot folder and flash it with fastboot:
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
This should make your phone boot again

Doesn't matter, I flashed back to stock kernel. Still curious why doomkernel didn't work :-/

Yeah read that some people had issues even when using the right build, something to do with the clock was to high (2Ghz) and doom released a 1.6Ghz in the arc section and that fixed it for those people. He said he would do the same for us at some point. That might be your issue?
Regards Dousan...
AFAIK it's because some device cannot handle the inital 2ghz spike on boot. Doom is making a 1.6ghz kernel for devices that wont boot new kernel

No worries, i didn't know the reason for looping was that it spiked 2Ghz on boot. That makes sense why some devices goes into a bootloop.

I installed Doomlord's ICS rom on my Arc S.. for some reason that is driving me nuts, my phone randomly reboots by itself.. sometimes within a few minutes.
Is there a step to fix this? (or troubleshoot this)
Is anyone encountering the same problem? I was starting to think that there is a problem with my hardware and not the OS though it was working fine when I was still on the stock rom.
thanks!

Doomlord ICS ROM which based on sony ics alpha rom have random reboot problems..
The ics rom which based on Sony Ics beta rom don't have random reboot problem
So it is not hardware problem but OS Problem : D
If you want use ics rom, you have to flash rom which based on Sony ICS beta
I got mine from this url
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314
is it still a alpha? it says there it is beta.
freefall12 already wrote info's about the CM9 version for LU6200 in the thread call record empty on 404 stock.
I really think we need an own thread for this.
http://bbs.fengbao.com/thread-997843-1-1.html
I downloaded and flashed it today and must say, very impressive.
But there are bugs no question, not suitable for daily usage now.
Guess if the nightly-time is over that could be a very good ROM.
Some issues i found for the short time i had it:
- Camera cant connect (closes with FC)
- Videoplayer freezes
But things i really like is the design and the languages where i can choose from.
One question, dont know if someone have a solution. Since i had to flash the engineer version of ICS to get root, is it possible to just flash the ICS and after that CM9 with root?
Yes, base on the engineer KDZ, not ICS KDZ.
In fact just need the bootloader based on engineer version.
i'm not sure what you want. but you can easily go back to official ICS using CWM recovery, without reflashing the whole kdz or the other way around. is that what you're asking for ?

you just made some modifications to the kernel and no changes to the ROM? you compiled it on ubuntu 12.04 ? i'd be grateful if you elaborate!
CM9 is still not fix vibration & 3G.

No, sorry if i didn't make it clear enough... if i go back to stock ICS, on the first LG bootscreen it still shows "engineer version".
Because i had to flash the engineer version (KDZ) before i flashed the ICS in order to get root and CWM after that.
So how does it work if i come from GB 2.3 to CM9... just flash the ROM in CWM?

if you upgrade to CM9 from GB,you will need to flash engineer version's mmcblk0p7 and ICS cwm recovery first.otherwise your phone probably will not boot and recovery will not work.that's because the mmcblk0p7 part is responsible for bootstrapping. hope i made myself understood!
OMG.. I thought CM9 would never come.. A Korean guy is also porting the AOKP to LU6200 and heard it's also in quite usable state. I'm restarting my phone to make a nand backup.

I really like the CM9, hope soon it will be stable. Right now if i connect via USB there is no dialog appearing, asking me to choose mass storage or any other option. My USB drivers are ok, it also connects without any problem in CWM.
An older version of this CM9 (19.06.2012) didn't have this issue.

Iv made a previous thread asking a question, but i just want to get this over and done with
im currently on CM7.2 baseband .56 (Gingerbread) and im wanting to go to Arconium 4.0 ICS, now this is where my question comes into play
in order for me to flash arconium it says i need to flash bb72 i cant be bothered right now upgrading to stock ICS 4.0.4 which i cant do through pcc cause i have a custom rom
can i do this... flash the kernel > flash arconium 4.0 ICS > then flash bb72
but if i do that will i still be on bb56 on arconium ICS and would that lead me to bootloops? this is a question im taking seriously cause if i get bootloops i cannot be f*cked going back to stock
EDIT: can i use bb56 on arconium 4.0 ICS and if so could i just flash bb72 after i have installed arconium?

you could edit your old thread..
But yes everything shuold work like you said. Dont forget to flash the libs for the baseband
libs? sorry i havn't started on bb's yet
Every baseband patch need their own libs.. Look at the threads from there you get the baseband there should be the libs too
i really have no idea what u r talking about
You have the baseband file which you have to flash with flash tool.
But there are more files you need. These are called "libs" or libraries
theyre in a flashable zip which you flash through recovery.
Look at this thread. There are the ftf files for the flashtool and for the bb 72 the libs.
The libs for over baseband you can get by another thread.
But you dont have to update the baseband for ics. If everything is working dont flash the neweset.
I have bad wifi issues after i flashed bb72 and cant fix them even after flashing my old bb again

Well thank you Smokerman for the reply and link to ur extremely helpfull and usefull Goodies...lol...however i have actually looked for a few days now, and have came across ur post many times...but the only xperia play kernel in the .sin or .ftf form that i have been able to come across was the Turbo Kernel v3....That has been an extrmely great for me. I wouldnt even change, but im using the Gin2jelly Rom and with my kernel it makes the camera not work.
It's not possible... Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't convert DoomKernel or the like into a FTF/SIN file that's flash-able through FlashTool.
This question has cropped up a fair few times on Kernel threads, I'm afraid no one has been able to do this.

hey guy i really hate to be "that guy" but ive really have been all over this forum for the last 2 weeks looking for a solid Kernel for the R800x and the only one i can find that works 100% is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605631
problem is i feel really cramped on the Data partition. is there anything like this Kernel that has the bigger 600mb+ data partition?
everything else ive tried either just flat out wont boot, has broken WiFi or some other issue. and due to most of the links being broken on this forum its very hard to track down any of the hard work thats been put into this little wonder.
any help with links to actual downloads would be greatly appreciated!
im by no means a flashaholic so i dont need recovery baked in or any thing crazy. i just need OC with large data Partition & working Wifi. :fingers-crossed:
Sadly your best option for kernel is Doomkernel released April of 2012. I don't believe lupus ever made a working cdma kernel. I may be incorrect. Before switching to a GSM play. I was on the R800x. Sadly your options are limited. 90%+ of the devs here used GSM.
I would look for doomkernel for cdma and then perhaps a search for lupus cdma kernel. If I were at my computer I'd do a quick sear h and post results here or send you my doomlernel and wifi modules to you in a link. As I kept all my cdma files.
If you want them let me know and later today I will post a link here for both.

really do appreciate the links, but been to all those places before with not much success. mostly dead links in the OP. i did find a few members posted links near the end of the threads before they get "locked" to mediafire etc but even some of those are dead too or have the Kernel but not the WiFi modules...
my prob with all the different DoomKernals ive tried is they have all been the smaller partition size. also boot times seem to be randomly very long for some reason. like some times more than 3-4 min just in the post screen before even loading the OS. (from what ive been able to get my hands on anyway)
however if you do have files of a nice Doomkernel with the larger data partition size with working Wifi modules id be your best friend! :highfive:

those totally worked. wifi and all!
sadly tho its a kernel with the smaller data partition (not 600mb+) so with both being OCed @ 1.6ghz, i don't really see much of a reason to use it over the Kernel i linked in the OP. the one in the OP seems to have better WiFi performance (if that makes sense?), doesn't require any extra modules to flash and it boots in a few seconds vs the Doom Kernel taking 30-90sec randomly to post before it even hands over to the OS.
i have the files saved now just in case and even tho i dont plan to use them much i really do appreciate you taking the time to upload them for me.
i did get Turbo Kernel working (including wifi) with Slimbean but i cant seem to get Turbo Kernel to have working Wifi with GB ROMs. i really love Turbo kernel. something about it seems so FAST on GB ROMs. but i cant live on 3g in my area and it seems Emus run at about 50-75% of the FPS on JB ROMs.....

Your welcome. Yeah unfortunately when DoomLord made this kernel no devs had figured out the larger system partition yet, or it wasnt available at that time. So yes DK only has the 600mb limit and you do have to manually flash the wifi modules where later kernels its done automatically on boot.
You can use Lupus Kernel but the wifi only works on Statis IP, instead of DHCP. Good luck. And if you got other questions your welcome to contact me I will do what I can.
