Realook Screen Protector w/ TPU case - PIC - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I just installed this screen protector in 5 minutes, no bubbles, streaks or imperfections. It fits great with the case. Highly recommend this combo. Phone is protected all around now.
Hard to tell there is a screen protector. Pics do not do this justice. Bought mine off Amazon.

let me buy your 2nd one off of you i live north of you in hayward!
i'm just kidding im ordering mine as we speak

Wow how did you do that? I got them today and tried putting on it was installed perfectly then the D3O case caused bubbles in top right corner. The only way around this was to cut the top right and left corners off. Does yours not form bubble even when you hit power key?

If I hit power thr SP doesn't pop up/bubble at all. It might be the case. This ebay case had some space to allow a SP.

looks awesome, mind linking where you bought those two things off of amazon? every TPU case I find seems to only be for the AT&T model.

Same here.
Realook + D3O = bubbles on the corners.

Awesome. This is what I have been waiting for. Will shop today. Thanks!
Update.
Wait a minute. Amazon does not seem to have one that would fit my phone. The one I saw is for intl version of SGS2 not for US T-Mobile version. Are they out there yet?

Damn, this could be a deal breaker. I was thinking about going with this one instead of the Zagg but not sure now. I'm a D30 owner as well and currently have the bubbles with the crappy T-Mobile SP.

Realook was a MISTAKE
Ordered from Amazon ($12), received and applied Realook screen protector just today, I was able to make it right first time. Indeed it looked awesome.
Big dissapointment came when I inserted a phone back to D3O cover. The tight cover edges are snapping against the screen protector edge all around the screen causing protector to come off on these edges.
They should put a warning that with this protector you may not be able to use your phone case. Waste of time and money, unless you want to use your phone "naked". Not me, filed a claim on Amazon want my money back. Tight fit is a big mistake. I will hunt for the protector which has some edge exposed like on my old Vibrant.

That may be more of an issue with the D30 case then the screen protector. Every time I put the D30 case on mine, it causes bubbles on the t-mobile screen protector. I only use the case at work now, until I find a slimmer one.

I would recommend a ghost armor sp. I experienced the same issue with the old t-mobile sp and my D30. Switched over to the ghost armor which has a little room all the way around the screen so in turn works out much better with the D30. Of course it's a much better sp as well!

is that screen protector anti finger prints and oily fingers??

No, it is clear unvisible protector so anything that stays on bare screen will be seen on the protector.
I never use those anti-smear protectors because they just make screen fuzzy. I am not paying for a high resolution screen smartphone to get it screwed up by some cheezy protector shield. But I understand it works for some people and I respect it.

SGP Flex screen protector review and pictures

I just received and fitted my SGP Flex screen protector so I thought I'd put up a few pictures for those considering it.

I can't post images yet.
It was pretty straight forward to fit, a few bubbles under the film that i had to push out though. The surface is slightly grippy. This is my first screen protector (and smartphone) so I'm not able to give a comparison but I'd certainly say it's not as smooth as using the nexus bare.
I'm happy with it but I'll probably try a non spray type in the future to see how it compares.
As you can see the screen protector covers a larger area than the SGP Steinheil Ultra Oleophobic, pretty much right to the edge of the screen before it curves.
can you fix the pics link ?

I am interested in hearing your thoughts on screen clarity and any rainbowing from it as well.
Thanks for fixing the links.
Screen clarity is great. The film is not noticeable from the angles you would be using the phone but there are some slight ripples you can see from extreme angles. The second picture I posted shows this.
The film claims to able to heal itself and I have noticed overnight some slight marks (again only visible from the side) I made by pushing air bubbles out with my fingernail have disappeared.
No rain-bowing whatsoever as far as I can tell.
I would guess the film would be crystal clear not anti glare, I can't see it mentioned anywhere. Maybe check the product site.
I purchased from the SGP store (search SGP Flex Galaxy Nexus, sorry still can't post links)
and Paid $50 total with the most expensive shipping to Australia which took 3 days including a weekend.
I've just paid £20 for one of these to be shipped from South Korea to the UK with express delivery. I ordered on Saturday and had an email saying it was shipped today. I hope it's worth it.

I also just ordered mine in anticipation of the hopefully soon VZW release.
Just grabbed one of these US$17 delivered.
Hopefully they are ok, I loved the Bodyguardz on my iPhone.
Thanks for the pictures and impressions.
This new Flex series seems a lot like Zagg InvisibleShields I had for my Droid X. Depth's pictures show the typical "orange peel" texture that is associated with most wet application screen protectors.
Not exactly my cup of tea, but I'm a bit thrown off by the lack of full screen coverage with the Steinheil Oleophobic model. Thus I'm still debating which is the best solution to go with. I inquired about a Ultra Crystal and Optics version for the Galaxy Nexus and Steinheil customer support had no clue.
for me, either realook or martin fields for the screen protector and a wet invisi-type protection for the body!
i guess that is one good thing waiting for a bit for the GSM North american versions. by the time we get it, we'll have loads of accesssories to choose from.
but of course i'm an impatient american and want my gnex now, so gonna order next week!!!!
just waiting on the vzw release and see if there is a gsm version coming soon to USA.
Mine arrived today and I was really careful with keeping my phone scratch free. I cleaned it with the cloth and perfect, not a scratch anywhere. I fitted the screen protector and still managed to trap a small speck of dust. Lol.
All in all the fit is great and the casemate tough along with the sgp should keep my phone immaculate for years to come. I would recommend this to anyone as the protector is quite thick but doesn't seem to spoil the display at all.

What about smudges and fingerprints.. can they be easily wiped off? I ordered mine just now and I hope it won't attract too much of that.
With the wet application, does the protector cling to the screen immediately like a dry application, or does it slide around a bit, making for easier aligning?
Yes but For a short time. Of You hands a moist fingers tend to "skip".

Can you comment if it has an orange peel effect? I abhor screen protectors that offer that kind of look. I refuse to put one of those on that screen. I was planning on buying one right now so I will have it the day I get my Nexus on VZW. If you can take a really good picture of the screen to show any kind of effect if any, I would appreciate it. Thank you very much!

Best screen protector

What do you guys think is the best screen protector for this phone? I have been looking on Amazon and they have been getting bad reviews on them.I ordered a mirrored one and that was a terrible middle because I couldn't see anything if there was any sunlight on the device. Any screen protectors like the Apple one where it is anti fingerprint? I'm thinking of trying the Zagg screen protector but I use Swype a lot and don't like my finger sticking to the screen.

I just received my ZAGG screen protector in the mail today. I'll let you know what I think once I put it on. My buddy has one on his IPhone, and I liked it because my finger DID NOT stick when I was sliding it around. I have seen other screen protectors that made my finger stick.
I've had a Zagg on my iPad, iPhone, Fascinate, Thunderbolt, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy 10.1 and now my Hercules. My finger has stuck to the screen exactly 0 times in the 2 years I've been using them and I've used Swype with every one of those devices.
I also prefer ZAGG's invisible shield. I had one on my Glacier and loved it so I grabbed one for my S II. You can usually find them several dollars cheaper on ebay or amazon.
I only use the screen protectors by ZAGG, but if you get a full kit, remember that you might run into fitment issues with tight-fitting cases. A full shield and a case seems redundant to me, anyway.
Zagg Invisi shield is definitely the way to go. I would just take your phone to the mall and have them apply with the wet method instead of the dry ones you can buy in store. They are the best and once you pay full price you can always get any side replaced for only 5$ :]
Personally I prefer the reallook screen protectors. They are a dry application, but have had awesome success with them. Only issue will be if you have the d30 case. But most screen protectors have issues with this case.

I tried one of those first on my Thunderbolt. It was really nice... Until it spent a ride in my pocket with my keys for a couple hours. It got pretty scratched up. I also have a pretty oily face and the Zagg hides that and the fingerprints a lot better than the SGP. When it's new though, that SGP is great.
I just ordered an Xtremeguard full-body kit off of ebay for $5 with free shipping. They are supposed to be direct competitors to Zagg from the looks of their ad but I don't have any experience with them so when I get it, I will get back to you.
I am not really worried about the screen as it's gorilla glass and that stuff is tough! I already have a Diztronic TPU case on my phone and just wanted a "apply and forget" screen protector that will lessen my OCDness with the screen (despite it being so tough).
anyone have a preferred screen protector with the 3DO case? i'm trying to find one that doesn't mess up with this case, lasts, and doesn't show all the oily fingerprints

I don't think you did it right i thought the squeege was scratching the screen protector. Cause it had a whole bunch of scratches on it. When trying to get the bubbles out. I removed the scratched up screen protector. Then underneath was the screen protector on perfectly. I even applied keys to it it didn't scratch up.

Screen protector that won't be effed up by the case?

I bought a ago steinhel flex and I put it on my phone but after only two days one corner has been lifted I don't know what went wrong, I bought it specifically because I read wet protectors don't lift up on the edges :/ . I'm guessing is because I have a Neo hybrid sgp case which has really tight borders.
I just ordered a sgp ultra hybrid which borders fit a little looser on the phone, what do you say should I buy another steinhel flex? Or maybe try the sgp oleophobic which is supposed to be smaller, but it is a dry application which people here are not fans of, maybe try the xo skins case fit?

it's a common problem for phones whose screens are almost in line with the bezel and if you have a case that covers the bezel. the only solution i saw is to use a smaller protector so the corners of the case would not touch the corners of the protector so it prevents lifting.

the man who's post i will forever keep in my sig. hahaha. good you mentioned that. i didn't actually use my diztronic protector as i have a capdase klia on my gnex. but since it's cut between the size of the actual screen and the one that sgp makes, it seems to not give me any peeling off issues. i guess i'll just keep my free diztronic protector then. hehehe
chances are you have the full screen version if you got the rev3 case. i think the almost to the edge sp's were shipped with earlier versions of the tpu.
i have the full screen xoskins using my diztronic. it doesn't lift the corners or anything!

Haha, yeah exactly! I used to get mad at myself for spending like 14-15 bucks on those wet application types... And only for it to peel off and make the screen look ugly.
I was so mad today. I bought the xo screen protector and had it on for 2 days. I decided to go for a jog and used my arm band case. After the run I tried to remove it from the arm band case, the plastic on the case stuck on the glass of the phone so tight it actually lifted the screen protector while I was trying to remove it so it got ruined. Just a heads up for those getting those "wet application" protectors. Ordered those plasticy clingy ones right after.

Smooth, transparent GS3 screen protector

What screen protectors for the SGS3 are perfectly smooth and transparentr? The screen protector I have on my current phone (BB) is slightly "frosted" or textured which messes with the pixels on the screen. It does make it easier to swipe and does not attract dust or fingerprints, but I would rather have a screen protector that is perfectly clear for the SGS3. What are some good ones?
just look for clear/crystal vs. matte (the "frosted" you have)

Go with SGP Ultra Crystal Screen protectors if you are looking for something that looks and feels like glass. No rubber feeling to it like some skins, and as the product name states, they are crystal clear. I have used Zagg, BodyGaurdz, Skinomi, etc, but I always go back to SGP Ultra series protectors because of how they feel, and protect the screen. Not to mention, it is a dry install, no water or spray to mess with and no bubbles.
I just ordered mine from Amazon yesterday for $13 + free shipping. Don't have my SGIII yet, but I have been used SGP covers on my SG, and SGII. Excellent protectors.
Thanks for this share. I've tried all you mentioned. Waiting for my new SGS3 also!

+1 for the SGP Ultra Crystal, EXCEPT they've been discontinued - I've got one on mine and have the problem they've noted (there's another thread for this) - the way the screen curves, the edges don't seal. Spigen is replacing them with the Nano, to be out soon, I think. I'll be ok leaving it on until then, but you might want to hold off.

I know this is a month old, but for anyone else looking. I ordered some screen protectors from eBay (12 pack) and they are perfectly shaped for the T989.
Go to eBay and search for '280943626480', which is the ebay item number. (I'm still a new user so I can't post links yet.)
Arrived quickly and took me about 3 of them to get one on (I kept messing up). Only 'issue' I have is that the tabs (peel first, apply, peel second) are on the straight end, so you start applying it from the bottom up, instead of lining it up with the earpiece and camera. Oh well.
I'm using the stock one from Koodo. I'm afraid to remove it, because I always get air bubbles.

Also just using the stock koodo screen protector, only issue is recently the top layers wearing away it looks like the clear coat wearing off the hood of a car in small spots and gets oily easy. Was looking around for a cheap protector to do the job but dontt want one like on my buddies nexus, thing looks like wet paper with all the wrinkles in it is so thin. Also the guy at the koodo kiosk knicked the top of the protector with scissors while trying to cut off the little plastic tab on the corner so that bugs me lol.
