( PC companion , kernals , flashboot ...etc ) .. but it doesn't work . and my mind is [hang-off] too and so Confused
...NOW
the phone gives me boot loop in :
ClockworkMod Recovery V4.0.0.5 - FreeXperia
even i re-install the alpha ROM again .
is there any solution to fix it ?
Use flashtool to go back to stock firmware if that is your preference.
The current version has 62 as the last two digits.
Make sure you use an .ftf file.

I think it's better that he use .42 version, because it can be root then.
42 version can be root with zergRush tool by Doomlord.
Remember to wipe phone in cwm before booting

BIG HUG for you guys
my friends phone was 2.3.3 he directory flashed arconium 8.1 rom and doom kernel v20,now it stuck on boot ..what can i do now?plz help me
Does he have baseband 64 or 66 ?
Try other kernel, flash kernel first then flash rom. Remember all that cache wipe first.
From my sexy LT15i
i dont know my friend but i solve the problem.i flash it with flashtool.and now he have 2.3.4 baseband 64 and rooted..tnx Boudin and TheHaso
So I've been trying to root my Arc for a while now.
Tried downgrading to GB, rooting and upgrading back. Didn't work.
Tried flashing a 4.1.A.0.562 FW, using 3 different files: LT15i 4.1.A.0.562.ftf - Flashtool failed at the start.
LT18 4.1.A.0.562 Generic & Nordic - Both caused my Arc to stuck on Sony screen, or loop.
I figured I might need a proper 4.1.A.0.562.ftf for LT15i, but can't seem to find any.
Any help?
I flashed the .562 LT15i on my LT18i make sure you are on ICS and Wipe do not exclude your Kernel. Use the flash tool tick Wipe Data, Wipe Cache and leave the rest untouched. Use No Final verification
What do you mean by "use no final verification"? How do I do that?
Which version of Flashtool are you using?

Oh and the file I'm using is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590121
I keep getting the following error:
18/056/2012 18:56:29 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="SIN_HEAD_VER";ERR_DYNAMIC="Failed to verify sin header";
See attached screenshot...
Thanks. Finally managed to root it.
Downloaded a Lt18 4.1.A.0.562 UK firmware. Flashed it with the settings like you described, then rooted with DoomLord's rooting toolkit.

Have you got USB Debugging turned on under settings?

yes.this is not my firs experience with flashtool.i had x8,x10 and lww before and all phones worked fine with flashtool
It's probably because of the kernel. Try flashing the stock kernel first, before flashing the entire tft file. The stock kernel is the file called "kernel.sin" inside the tft file. You can extract it and flash it while is fastboot mode.
Or if you want to flash it using flashmode, use the 7zip program and delete all files inside the tft file except the single folder and the kernel.sin, then flash the modified tft file.
Tnx will try it,i was able to flash custom kernel usingvfastboot.
ok this is confusing.i was able to flash kernel and system with fastboot mode, but still cant flassh ftf file with flash mode?

You only need the latest version of flashtool if you have a 2015 or newer Xperia device 9.18.6 or earlier are the better versions and wipe clean the device ticking userdata and cache this will prevent any problems you can also use flashtool to download the firmware instead of xperifirm.
