[Q] Where are my contacts?

I keep my contacts on Googles servers only, there are none saved to the SIM card or phone as such.
I just changed ROM, restored using Titanium Backup, and now only three contacts show and they are ones that I added manually using the phone. It has synced to Google, but the other contacts just don't show (they are still on Google when I log in via the web).
Any ideas about this?

Have a look in Menu->Settings->Accounts & Sync - for the email account you are using, is "Sync contacts" checked?
Also, assuming you are using a Sense-based ROM, go into People and select Menu->View - again, check that you have checked "Google".

Hmm, I tried this and it didn't work, but I did eventually figure it out so will post it here in case anybody else has this problem:
After doing what is mentioned in the previous post I went into Settings, then applications, then manage applications, pressed "all" then found 'Contacts Storage' Press Force Stop, then Clear Data, then restart the phone.

I too wonder why sync is not working. My settings are so as you advised in your post + autosync is active, but still 0 google contacts in "people" (i thought my phone contacts would be transferred to my google acc. Am i wrong?)

Yes.. it is ticked and in accounts and sync menu google account is enabled for all three items; contacts, gmail and calendar. Gmail and Calendar sync working w/o prob but contacts not syncing at all..

Keep getting com.google.process.gapps has stopped while syncing contacts

I have tried syncing my contacts today because I noticed the newest one hasn't shown up on my google account yet, but for some darn reason the phone freezes for a bit and shows "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped."
In sync settings I only have Sync Contacts checked, nothing else. If I sync other things I don't have any issues.
When in sync settings and I check and uncheck the box it will sync in 2 seconds, when I sync it again it will do so for 30 seconds, the error will pop up and close itself then stop syncing. In accounts and sync it will freeze for a while and show the popup which I have to close myself.
My phone is rooted running 4.0.3. I also have ~5000 contacts (that includes g+,facebook,numbers,emails)
What can I do to fix this? It's getting on my nerves.

Clear the data for your google contact within settings. See if it helps.

I've cleared data for Google Service Framework, Google Contacts Sync and cleared dalvik cache.
Which one is the Google contacts app? Contacts Storage? Won't clearing it erase all my contacts??

Back up the data first. I had a similar problem before when my contact storage reached over 1 GB, which is bogus, caused by program bug. Clear the storage solved my problem.
Contacts can be back by you're google account, if you have one

[Q] Google contacts not syncing!

Hi I am using the Touchwiz Rom for Htc Wildfire (Buzz) and for some reason, since day one, I have noticed that even though I have checked the Auto-sync setting under Accounts & Sync, all my contacts stored with my Google account don't seem to sync..........can somebody tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

Have you flashed correct gapps?
I'd try removing my google account and re-inserting it...

Try Contacts Sync fix app from play store.
Name i might be forgetting but its definately contacs sync sumthing..

Contacts from Exchange do not sync to Whatsapp

I've upgraded from G3 to G4. I discovered the following problem. I have synced Google, Facebook and Exchange Contacts to the phone. Now my exchange contacts are not recognized in Whatsapp. Also, when I check in G4 contacts, the Exchange contacts to not show the Whatsapp icon.
Anyone else has the problem or an idea, how to fix this?

After synchronizing my exchange contacts to the new LG G4, WhatsApp does not recognize the exchange contacts.
Any solution?

I found a solution. Im Whatapp check under settings - contacts that the option show all contacts is checked.

Hello I was facing the same issue. I don't know the reason behind the problem but this solution worked for me;
Under "Contacts Settings > Display > Customise " Mark "Microsoft Exchange" and "Whatsapp". after that tap " SYnc NoW".

Help please all - I have an iphone and same problem, suddenly all exchange contacts just show numbers. I cant see the above paths in my phone so maybe this is unique to android and im on ios?
Its driving me crazy! if anyone can help please

T2 ultra duel after lollipop new contacts saved locally only

Hello everybody
After I upgrade muy Xperia T2 ultra duel to lollipop I fined out that every time I add a new contact it ask me to save it on local or add account even if I already synced by my Google account... When I asked to add account it gave me exchange activesync only.
I searched the internet no use. after awhile I fined the same problem on Sony forms but no way to fix. I fix it by using a contacts program "true phone".
Do any one here facing the same problem? And any one have a fix to use the phone original contacts program?

try this
me too faced the same problem.. local contact or exchange active sync
i cleared it by uninstalling FACEBOOK MESSENGER
so just try by uninstalling messenger
if its not working by above method follow the steps below.. sure it will help
1. reset ur phone
2. after google registration check whether the contact saving asking local or google account
sure it will show google account
3. after that start installing apps.. check by adding contacts after installing every app... a trial and error method..
surely u can find which app is blocking
i think the reason is some applications we installed changes the setting
hope it will be solved
