I tinkered a bit with the Performance page in the CM Settings menu and accidentally chose an option for the VM Heap Size. Previously nothing was ticked, and I later set it to 32M following a forum search.
Still, I prefer having it at default and not messing with anything beyond the clock speed.
Can someone tip me off with the default settings, and maybe explain what it does, too?
Thanks!

So I changed the "adaptive zoom" to 100 because I didn't like how images were stretched out on mobile sites and the like to compensate for the much higher resolution on the TP2. However, the font size also changed so the font in general for a lot of sites is very small. I've tried manually changing the value in User Prefs (Minimum Font Size) and such, but the changes don't stick if I change the text level under Display Settings to something else and go back.
What have you guys been doing about the font size? I prefer mobile sites for a lot of websites liek Google Reader and such because they load faster and such. Thanks for the help in advance.
It's been discussed here:

Using a registry editor, make the following change:
HKLM/SYSTEM/GWE/Menu/CUIHandler and set
0 = Windows default
1 = HTC Menu

the problem is the registry key does not work for me while using htc sense. I still have the slow menu. Can anyone tell me more about this?
Justrome0, are you trying to change the menus that pop up inside sense? For example, menus in each of the manila tabs? If so, to my knowledge that is not possible. The reg edit only works to switch between WM or HTC menus outside of sense.
Thanks sean... yeah i was wondering if that is possible .... i searched a lot and it seems it's not possible, it seems applications can override the menu they will use regardless of the operating system default.
I was curious tho if there's any way to tweak that menu to appear faster. The animation is really slow on blackstone. Probably works fine on HD2 but not here ... maybe the duration can be changed to like 0 or 1 frames.
I hope I'm not confusing what you're trying to do. If you're using the HTC menus outside of manila in other applications then there certainly is a way to speed them up, and it's essentially a two part tweak. With a registry editor go to HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMenus and look for three things, EnableVsync, AnimationRadio Portrait and AnimationRadio Landscape. Start with EnableVSync and set its decimal value to 0. This will allow the animation of the menu to scroll up or spread out twice as fast. Next look at both AnimationRadio settings. The AnimationRadio controls how fast the animation of the menu scrolls up or spreads out. By default their decimal setting is 16. The higher you set the animation speed the less animation you get, but the faster the menu opens. Traditionally I set each decimal value to 64, but you might want to play with different settings to see what works best for you. You may just try setting Vsync to 0 first and see if that is fast enough. Keep in mind that the animation radio tweak may not work consistently in some programs. For example, a couple of menus in my registry editor pop up with animation some do not. For me, however, that is the only program that does that. Hope that helps.
Thanks a lot for info sean, unfortunately it does not work for me.. I either hate it so much that I can't see the difference or there's actually no difference .
VSync was already 0 for me probably changed by the cook.
Nevermind tho ... i found a titanium theme that looks like HTC Sense and it's pretty nice.

Has some issues but at least it's responsive.
I have an HTC HD2 phone running stock Windows 6.5 ROM. I have installed the flash lite application and downloaded some freeware flash lite games.
The games run perfectly however one particular game I play requires me to keep the screen pressed. But when I do this the flash pop up menu is displayed (pause, play, loop etc). Is there a way of disabling the menus you have mentioned above to stop them from popping up, maybe a reg tweak or something?
Appreciate your help.
Hi,
Was wondering is the standard froyo contacts doesn't list all the alphabetical letters on the right hand side? From all the froyo release so far I see the right side list missing letters : B, E,H, K, N, Q,T,W
Can we someone enable these characters again? I can live without these characters but it's just annoying...
Having the same issue here too...
And pressing the back softkey after playing a song in Music Player also causes some letters to disappear.
same issue in my sgs...strange
Yes, mine too (JPO).
The letters missing: G, H, O P
Wow, I got JPO as well..... hmmm seems the letters appears based on something. I did remember awhile ago, some letters start appearing.
It can't be by contacts, cos I got google contacts that have "b" in it but it still doesn't show the letter.
i flashed from jm1 to jpa. maybe this is the problem?
lost: GHOPX
for me it seems that if a letter has little contacts it doesnt show, and the next letter after it also dissapears..
any1 can confirm?
It's a feature. It's meant to enable users to quickly browse through their contacts. Yes, it sounds rather strange but what they intended was that you don't waste your time trying to get the the correct letter (particularly those with larger fingers) but rather in an approximate area in which you can therefore thumb up or down to the right contact.
In some ways it works, in other ways it can be annoying.
It's because of size of the fonts and the size of the top search box. There is no space for all the letters to be shown. Set lcd density to 200 and you'll see the magic.
For set lcd density to 200 have you used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=762070

where i can change this value?
You can use that app or you can change it manually by changing build.prop ro.sf.lcd_density setting to 200. Be careful with this because TW doesn't work with setting below 200. Make backup first an enable debugging so you can revert through the adb. Read all about it first in the forums!!!
yikes lcd density at 200 makes everything looks aweful......is there any other way to get it to show all the alphabet just like in eclair?
thats really strange, didnt notice though.
although it can be shown by changing the lcd density to 200, but all other application becomes not full screen, it is not the perfect solution, someone please kindly make a study on this issue, it seems caused by the inproper layout parameter of contacts resource.
I guess eclair didnt have the edit box for "search" taking up space....now in froyo with the new search box, theres lesser room!
very annoying really though Don't want to change the LCD density as it screws up other apps.

You can fix the other apps with spareparts app from the market. Compatibility mode option should be unchecked.
Tw can be replaced with the adw or launcher pro. The dialer and calculator are not in full screen view only.
Like I said , read all about it in the forums.
I personaly like the lcd tweak very much because of a larger resolution effect. You get more space on the display for icons and widgets and you can see more stuff in apps without scrolling.

Hi, the ICS clock screen has a bit of an issue, the fonts are to big. I'm using it in dGB and oxygen and it comes included in another ROM.
If I change the font size in spare parts its fine and I prefer the whole overall Size difference. unfortunately after reboot the settings go back again to normal size.
The actual setting takes place in data/com.android.settings.providers - settings.db
It changes font_scale to 0.95 from 1.0
Is there a build.prop I can add to keep it at 0.95 at boot? I've tried ro.com.font_scale =0.95 as the date format and some other settings in there (settings.db) are referenced that way in build.prop.
No joy.
Would appreciate some help here, its doing my head in.
try to reduce your lcd density instead.
That's a bit overkill, its really only one app. And I can change it fine (to 0.95) with spare parts. Just doesn't stick.
Hi. I'm looking to write a screensaver clock for my unit, but I'm not sure it's possible.
All I know about the unit is that it's a Rockchip, PX5, Android 10, 4.19.111+, MTCH_MX2_V3.80_1.
I mean, there's more things in the settings, but these are the ones that seem relevant.
I don't know who manufactures it, even.
The (stock) launcher calls itself Launcher3, but I'm not sure that helps much.
First of all, to justify the thread title, I was surpised to find there are MTCB and MTCD forums, but not MTCH. At this point it's not even clear to me what the different is between the various MTC*, I gather it has something to do with chipsets, but my expectation then would be for chipset-specific issues and discussions to be a small part of the forum, and by the organisation that doesn't seem to be the case. So in lack of an MTCH forum I'm writing here, and hoping someone explains what would be the most adequate place.
My unit has a 'screensaver' which consists of a white on black digital hh:mm clock, with am/pm and the date in small letters. It doesn't seem to be configurable and is quite not what I wanted. The only setting availble for it seems to be Settings -> Display -> Audio Screen Timeout, which can be a certain amount of time or 'never'. That setting is actually OK for me, the problem is it doesn't do anything else other than controlling the 'when'. I'm not sure if regular Android has this setting. The name certainly sounds weird, and it has nothing to do with audio, the clock will start after the idle time regardless of what's on screen (unless it's the settings app or the navigation, and maybe other apps block it too).
The actual Screensaver setting where you choose a screensaver is not visible in the UI. By installing https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=systems.sieber.fsclock I'm able to open the Screensaver settings using a shortcut the app has, amd there I can see the stock clock app the unit comes with, plus the clock app I've just mentioned installing, as well as Picture Table and the other Picture Something whose name I don't recall right now. When I install other apps with screensavers, they show up in the list as well. The thing is, the first time I accessed the setting, none of the screensavers in the list were selected, and the 'screensaver' I'm trying to replace is not in the list. And choosing any one of the available screensavers apparently has no effect. Choosing 'Start now', which I imagine is a preview option, does nothing either. But the setting does get saved. I've tried rebooting, and the setting is kept, but it simply seems to do nothing.
Of course, probably this 'screensaver' is defined somewhere in some file, and not exposed in any UI. Worse, it may even be hardcoded, and worst of all I'm thinking it may not even be a screensaver at all. Maybe someone here has an idea what it is and if it can be changed, because I see that some other launchers also have their own screensavers or 'screensavers'.
Thank you for any input.
MTCH - is effectively MTCD platform
