Hi, i have two questions...
1) Can use my PS3 pad on my Desire HD to play emulators?
2) All bluetooth keyboards run on Desire HD?
I need any special rom?
I read that to use the PS3 controller only worked in CyanogenMod, actually i use ARHD 6.1.1 ...
please, I have read many different things about this bluetooth compatibility
THXXX!!!
1) Better to use roms based on device's original RUUs! It will work on roms like Android revolution hd- eva sense - Persian vision &... . but it's recommended to use Android Revolution HD 6.1.2.
2) Yes, almost all of them work on Desire HD.

Sense or no sense rom i need?
To my knowledge, Six Axis Controller app (from market) will not work with sense roms. I run CM7, and use this app with wonderful results. Totally worth the few dollars. In order to configure the controller to the phone you need to go to the developers web site, and download thier program that lets you connect the controller to your computer, and change the bluetooth address. If you download the compatibility checker, it will give your phone's bluetooth address to use for the controller. I tried to use motionjoy to change the bluetooth, with no luck.

I'm not sure if it will work with ARHD nosense, or not. I'm 100% sure it works with CM7.
Try the compatibility checker (from market) before buying the full app.

Could someone explain to me what I need to do to get one of these to work on my evo. Do I need to be rooted? I currently am through unrevoked.
Which controller is the best one to get?
A type of wireless Wii remote?
Thanks for any and all help.
Download "Wiimote Controller" from the Market and follow the instructions.

Does it work with the Sense UI on my evo? The developers website said it doesn't work on all sense devices
Thanks again.
Also, will one of those Wii retro controllers work on this?
You need CM6
The Evo in it's stock state doesn't support any of the Wiimote apps in the market. I tried several Roms that don't use sense, and none of them would pair the Wii remote. The reason is that it is not Sense alone that causes the problem. The problem is that HTC changes the bluetooth stack when they put sense on the phone. Removing sense doesn't fix the stack.
The only rom currently out for the Evo that fixes this is Cyanogen 6 mod. He actually re-programmed the bluetooth stack. He has a release candidate which I have been using for a while now. I was even using his nightly builds and it's a very solid and stable rom. I haven't used the PSX Emulator, but I have been using Snesoid, and I love it. I got a Wii remote, and a classic controller from best buy, $60 total, and it was so worth it. With the classic emulators like Snesoid, you can actually map the keys for 2 controllers. Meaning you and a buddy can play Super Mario Kart, one using the Wii Remote, and the other using the classic controller plugged into it.
The other great thing about the CM6 rom is that Cyanogen is working on getting the HDMI out to clone everything from the phone over the HDMI port. This means that you can sit on the couch with your Wii remote and the classic controller pro, and using psx4droid you can play all the classics on the big screen.
The downside is the CM6 rom disables 4G, FM radio, and has had some issues with facebook contacts. Once you get this rom on, it should be pretty easy from there.
Thanks a lot, Bradley.
A few more questions...
It sounds like if I want to use a retro controller I have to connect a regular wii controller first and then plug the retro into the regular? Or can I connect the retro by itself without a regular controller?
Does Cyanogen have a site or blog where he can be followed? I'd like to get that Rom once he gets 4G working... and the HDMI-out; that sounds awesome. (On that note, do you know if I can flash that CM6 rom having rooted with Unrevoked? Do you know where I could find a step-by-step guide to help install it? (I'm searching the forums right now.))
What format do these things need to be in?
Awesome tutorial for .ecm roms

I'm running myn's rom it has sense so is there a way to get a wii controller connected? I tried rwii controller for rooted but didn't work? Please help. Thanks
Edit: please don't say try Cynagen bc the reason I want the wii remote is to play emulators thru full hdmi which is only sense roms I beleive. So it's a lose lose

The poor bluetooth stack in HTC Sense does not allow for connections from certain types of devices (wii remote included). The only way to connect a wii remote to your phone at this time is to be running a NON-sense rom (CM for example). The only way to get the HDMI out is to be running a Sense rom, so you can see the problem here...
Basically, as of now, you can't get a wii remote AND HDMI support at the same time on an EVO.
Ok that sucks but thanks

No...cm has a hdmi alpha build now
swyped from my cyanogenized and gingerbreaded EVO
Been keen for USB/bluetooth controller support (i.e. 360/dualshock) for ages, and I seem to remember it being suggested that ICS would include this feature - but I don't seem to have seen it mentioned since the unveiling.
Is this still likely to happen on non tablets? phonejoy doesn't really do it for me as I don't particularly want another controller knocking about just for my phone...
There's an app on the market called Sixaxis. Assuming you're rooted, give Sixaxis Compatibility Checker a try and see if it works with your rom/kernal.
Unfortunately, if you're running a stock rom it won't work. (Unless it's changed since the last time I tried)

Thanks, but as I understand it you lose it tv out, plus I'd rather stay on stock...
That being said I've just tried the compatibility checker and it suggests that my phone with stock and Siyah is supported BUT I don't have a dualshock to confirm it works? Would it work?

Actually its working now. I am running XXKI3 rooted with CF-ROOT, but I believe this is not important (older stock should work too). Recently the developer of Sixaxis Controler updated its version, and now its working on S2.
Ofcourse i recommend to try first Sixaxis Compatibility Checker, before buying Sixaxis Controller app.
For now i'm enjoying Tiger Arcade + PS Dualshock 3 pad
The only downside so far.. it does not support more than one pads simultaneously. So no multilayer.

Hi guys,
It's time for a new update...
Just checked the new version of "Sixaxis Controller". The SGS2 is now supported!
So now it works with a stock based ROM + TV Out! I tried it on a Criskelo ROM with the Siyah Kernel. It works fine!
To pair the controller with the SGS2, just follow the instructions listed here:
dancingpixelstudios. com/sixaxiscontroller/instructions.html
To activate the buttons of the Dualshock in FPse you should first disable the touchscreen buttons and set new hardware buttons. F.e. press "Start" hardware button while the optional field is on "DOWN", then press down (by the steering cross or the analog stick) the proceeding with the other buttons is the same..
here i've done a short video to proof the stuff.

jap. tested it a few days ago too. its working perfectly and you're able to use a MHL adapter to play on a tv via hdmi.
Since the SIXAXIS doesn't work with HTC phones due to lack of some BT protocols and Tegra Zone supported gamepads need USB Host I'm searching for other solution. I want to play with gamepad in games such as GTA 3 and Riptide. So I find Bluetooth gamepad. My question is : Anyone know whether it will work with One X out not. Maybe someone test it and want to share experiences.

As far as I remember HTC sorted out the Bluetooth stack with the HOX so that sixaxis will work. I'm even sure it's been confirmed in these forums.

Actually the sixaxis works perfectly. You need a PC to set it up. There are plenty of guides on the web. I tested it with Shadowgun. Works great.

Sixaxis doesn't work with desire Z with rooted stock. Problem is on gingerbread HTC sesne rom. On DZ only CM and MIUI work with sixaxis. Mayby ICS with sense is working with sixaxis. I'll try.
edit: sixaxis working with ONE X

Is there a way to use the app without root?
Wiimotes work stock with an app like Wiimote Controller, Phonejoy's also work stock without Root.

+1, I'm looking for it too
Edit: Googling gave me this:
'SixaxisPairTool' (available on the website) and a mini-USB cable. Android 3.1+ users can also pair directly on their devices via USB.
This should do the trick:

I have been looking for a good gaming controller and I think I have found what I am looking for, Gameklip. The only issue I have is that it is not supported by Sense roms, AOSP roms work just fine but Sense does not come with the right bluetooth policy for the sixaxis app to connect with the PS3 controller.
I was wondering, is anyone familiar with the bluetooth policy makes the PS3 controller work, that AOSP roms have but Sense doesnt?
Does the new moga controllers work with sense?

Its not a bluetooth policy its a bluetooth stack (the code). AFAIK HTC phones do not support many bluetooth devices without an aosp/cm based rom. It is unlikely stock htc one will support the sixaxis or an HID keyboard etc.
Sixaxis does not work with our stock rom, I am trying to learn enough about what sixaxis needs to work in order to get the controller working for the HTC One. I have seen some flashable zips and edits for the kernel/build.prop that have been developed to get sixaxis working with roms/devices that did not originally support it.
Also, going over the supported devices for Gameklip it says the HTC One X+ is supported for a wired connection to the ps3 controller.
You could use a USB OTG cable and sixaxis from the play store if you are rooted.
