Just wondering what you guys think are some of the benefits aside from Development, HTC Sense, Rooting-Unrooting, Battery life!
Pretty much the pros & cons you've come to love or hate about your DInc2!
Thanks

pros: awesome battery life, form factor, *good* screen, sense (i like it at least), world phone, strong signal/data speeds, performance even stock is amazing for a single core phone, flashing things from one recovery and not having to odin xxx recovery to use xyz rom etc , all 3 major aosp roms available
cons: the gb root situation, screen is a step down from samoled (although not as awful as u would be lead to believe, smaller development community (but growing)
This phone is leaps and bounds better than the Fassy, for me at least.
Pros: Nearly everything about this is better than the Fassy. Except the screen of course. (That has blacker blacks than the blacks on my black coloured phone.)
Cons: The root is non-existent for OTA Gingerbread. And the Fassy was 10x smoother. But we'll see after I get root.

I came from the D1 running liquid gingerbread and oc'ed to 1Ghz. That was my favorite phone ever then my screen went out.
Pros: I like the larger screen size, it's bigger but not too big. The battery life is amazing. I do seem to have better signal and faster UL and DL speeds.
Cons: the sound isn't as loud as my D1. Not a fan of the SRS WOWHD as the only time I listen to music is in my vehicle and I don't need the SRS WOWHD. In call volume isn't as good either. At first I thought my hearing was getting worse than what it already is bit after some research others feel the volume is lower as well. And of course the GB issue. I can't wait to get s-off but right now I'm on a tight budget as I will be moving soon and my job may or may not be paying for the move so no xtc clip for this guy for about 2-3 months.
Overall though this phone is awesome. I don't think it will ever fully replace my D1 but it already comes close so we'll see.

What is the Situation with GB Root?
Can S-Off, Root, CWM only be achieved in FroYo??
Cause I'm pretty certain the Dinc2 I receive Tuesday will more than likely have GB..

Correct, there is no way to S-off the GB OTA yet. I just picked up the DI2 from Costco yesterday and luckily it still had froyo on it. Was rooted and rom'ed in 40 minutes.
I came from a fassy and so far I really like it. I actually really like the screen not missing the fassy screen and the thing is smooth.

Honestly the Inc2 without root is still an amazing phone. Fantastic battery life, pretty fast. I feel it has more stock features than the Fascinate and I would definitely choose the Incredible2 over it. I'm sure they will find a way to root the Inc 2 GB soon.
Another fortunate recipient of a DINC2 from the Fassy fiasco.
I was rooted and rocking UKB2.1 on the Fassy, aside from the bloatware, I prefer the stock DIN2!
What is s-off? I understand it is required for root, but what the hell does it mean? Also, what is the xtc-clip?
Thanks! Looking forward to some DINC2 dev!

Well it sucks that as soon as I'm leaving the Fascinate due to call sms gps & data issue's CM7 Nightlies become available for it. And the rooting aspect was cake with superoneclick and odin flashing.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
It was a hassle trying to find a reliable radio for the Fascinate, having to turn voodoo on/off, getting the gps to work, etc. I found myself having to tinker the hell out of the device to get it to work properly. The inc2 is great out of box. I agree with what nitsuj said about the device.

I haven't rooted. There is no root for Gingerbread yet. I like the phone stock anyways. I think there is a signal issue with CM7 and Miui on Inc2. I could be wrong though, but thought I read that somewhere.

Most of the Droid Inc2s now are coming out with Gingerbread preloaded and there isn't a root out unless you use a XTC clip for it. IF by chance you get it preloaded with Froyo then you're good to go.
We picked up a DI2 from Costco for $30 this last Saturday and it still had froyo on it. Was rooted and rom'ed in 40 min. Easy peasy
Just out of curiosity... I'm coming from Fascinate also. This will be the first time I've gotten a new smart phone. What is the best way to backup my apps+data and move them to the DINC2 when I get it. Will TiBu work? Is there a more simple solution. I'm really just wanting to port over my Angry Birds progress and my Memo Pad app (not the stock sammy one) that has some important information on it. What method did you guys use if any?
TiBu only works if you have root, so if you get a DI2 with GB on it TiBu will not work for you. I know there are apps on the market that will save your angry birds progress. Not sure about your other app, it may say your notes to your sdcard.

Gaming and video is better on g2x. Gs2 beats it in all other catergories came from g2x ... g2x is a great phone but I don't game on my phone much so I really haven't looked back the screen on this is the trade off here... its great

If that's the case, definitely trade for sgs2. I had 4 replacement g2x and well the issue I had was with internet related, every phone that dis come, rebooted or shutoff itself. What good is a phone that does that randomly? I get my gs2 in 3 days
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G using Tapatalk
Alrite so heres the deal i had the g2x and still do mine was good to me had it since launch in april, imo best gaming phone period! a lot of bad negativety about it i think effed things up in that forum but like i said great phone now i just got my gs2 the other day at retail and it was worth every single penny i love this phone it also plays games great too i play dead space, angry birds and riptide gp and they all play phenomenal now some games dont play so nice but in my opinion there not optimized for this phone yet (our version) like example riptide just had an update for our phone and its smooth as butter now people were also complaining about lines and blobs on the phone and there right i do see them but in a dark room on a dark background like our status bar (pull down) and your phone has to be on pretty much the lowest setting, but this does not bother me at all in everyday normal use whether u are outside in the sun, or in your house u do not see it. This phone rocks it is fast, super easy to root and throw custom roms on and the camera and screen are just awesome, plus the download speeds are kick ass this phone gets a 10 out of 10 imo
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a sick ass phone! I was hesitant to go back to sammy after my vibrant but I have no regrets now! FAST FAST FAST!
I would recommend this phone to anyone on t mobile looking to upgrade. Yes, something bigger and better is always on the horizon as with all technology, but at the moment, for my money the sg2 is the best option.

perfect quote!! i love my sgs2!
This is the first Android phone on AT&T that I've tried that could go up against the 3gs and beat it hands down. I haven't had a 4 or a 4s but it definitely beats the 3gs and I'm not talking in terms hardware or benchmarks, which are meaningless to real world use. I'm talking about the famous iPhone stability and the whole "it just works" mentality that comes with it. This phone has that. I'm currently getting 17+ hours on one charge and I'm definitely a power user. (grandfathered unlimited data plan on AT&T). I tend to run Cognition ROM because I prefer stability over flashy features and well, old habits from my Captivate days. There are some other sweet roms, I'm currently trying out the UnNamed ROM. (making my rounds) Good luck with your phone selection.

THANK YOU guys so much!!! now im completely convince to get this phone thank you guys again and thanks for the time!!
So I'm getting a new phone. Right now I have a Cliq 2, but I'm getting a new one in the next week.
Right now I'm trying to decide between this, the G2x, or the MT4GS.
I'm not trying to get you guys to tell me why I should get this phone over the others, I'd just like to know what this phone is like. What are the ups? The downs? How's the phones radio? Custom ROMs? Battery life? And anything else you feel might be good to know before I make a decision.
Thanks!
Sent from my MB611 using Tapatalk
I like the screen size, battery is good for me, gets me through my 14hr day on one charge with the screen use between 3:30-4 hrs. The radio is great, i get good speeds and great audio quality on the phone. The ROM choices aren't great YET, but Juggernaut is perfect for me and as stable as can be with many features and tweaks.
some phones have the screen flaws, but its hardly noticeable unless you look for it. I would definitely recommend over the G2X, my previous phone, which I did not like. The MT4G slide my lady has and its a nice QWERTY phone, but the screen is too small for my liking. Also I find the battery better on this than my G2X fyi. You won't be upset with this phone, of that I am sure.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?
Just came from g2 with desire z hboot and rcmix3d 4.0...
Love the phone. Development is slow for phone. But phone is decent. Screen has bugs but overall nice phone great preformance with beastmod 2 4.0_
Large Screen, Fast, Great Battery
best phone i have ever owned!!! hands down, buy it now
Yea i had the g2x good phone but the gs2 blows it out of the water with everything.....mt4gs isnt in this category really as it is just a laggy beast (my 8yr old had one) anyways the screen is beautiful, call quality is awesome, rom development is getting there hopefully miui soon and we have cm. Audio quality=loudest phone i ever owned
this phone is exceptional in every way except development. our development page is death
Just buy it.
Alright cool. The only thing that's holding me back is the price tag now.
Also, how do you guys know you'll be getting more ROMs?

There is already an alpha build of CM7 available and CM9 is rumored to be in development. Once there is a stable CM7 build MIUI and other ROMs using a CM base should follow.

Yeah, I haven't heard much about the MT4GS. The only thing that has it still in my mind is the keyboard. I love having the keyboard on my Cliq2, but I'm willing to sacrifice it if I can get a great phone.

Some of you are saying the dev here are slow which I agree to. But have you guys gone over to some of the other phones' dev threads? Look at the Amaze...LOL
I'm just curious do you people know how long it takes to compile and check roms for bugs? I don' think so. Making sure the code is correct if you changed anything. If their is one wrong line of code it code affect all the performance in a rom or kernel which could take minutes to hours to fix.. There will be no aosp roms until the cm team does it unless someone wants to do all the work themselves. Which by the way we have official support from the cm team. There are tons of developers outside which probably have tons of roms and kernels which are never released to the public because they don't want their work to be stolen or they simply don't want to share their work.
Doing things from scratch is a lot harder than porting. All the other galaxy s2 devices have mainly ports since they are nearly identical. The ports came from the official galaxy s2 which those people had to do things from scratch. Making roms is extremely time consuming these developers have other devices they work on, jobs , and family. They are not getting paid for their services to deliver roms. Just for you to flash and then complain about bad battery life. Which is most of the time the users fault. I think we should be more Appreciative that we actually have developers willing to share their work with us.
I like this phone. It makes phone calls and allows me to send texts.
I bet you'll enjoy it as well.

This answer made me smile. Thanks .... If you have some cash and you want to get something good get Galaxy Nexus. If you want to upgrade just go for SGSII it's nice I like it.
MT4GS: just no. The advantage of the g2x is OOB stock, and full cm support, plus wifi calling. It's a really awesome phone, and I would recommend it. GS2 is a really awesome phone but doesn't have full cm support yet.
TL;DR
MT4GS do not buy
G2X buy on a budget, or with no plans of rooting/romming
GS2 buy for the f***ing big screen, or the processor.

Alright. Why do you say not to buy the g2x though if I have no plans of rooting or romming? From what I've seen on its forums, it has tons of rom's and a few kernals.
And from what everyone has said this phone will soon have tons of rom's, though nobody knows for real if that's true or not

Hi, Im thinking of buying a gal.... but i was wondering some stuff,
1 : Is the phone good? Does it lagg and stuff like that.
2 : Is there many custom mods?
3 : What are the Good sides and the bad
Thanks in advance
Sry for my bad english, My grammer sucks
It's good, like it better than my old Galaxy S2.
Some mods, I haven't done much to mine though besides sticking in the sim card and exploring the phone.
Good sides - It's pretty awesome.
Bad - Screen rotation's slow on some apps..that's all I have so far.
Probably should have posted in the QA section.
Get it. I'm coming from iOS. Well, still use it. But this is the only phone I would use with android on a daily basis. Yeah there are cons, but overall no regret. Customizing, this is the phone u want. I predict this phone will only get better and be supported for a long time. Good luck with your decision

It's great.
But it is a dev. phone, expect some bugs.
Overall I love it, and I think it's relatively beg-free compared to my N1 when I got that one and my expectations.
It is a lovely phone.
Is the screen really bright and is the volume of notifications really loud ?
The build in speaker sucks pretty hard. You have to use apps like volume+ to be able to hear your notifications in a louder environment.
But the screen is simply awesome.
Oh, and ice cream sandwich too

1. yes, once in a while here and there
2. dont know, i dont use custom mod
3. 4g, ok screen. bad battery life.
I came from an HTC Evo 4G.
First thing that I STILL can't get over after a weeks time is the screen! it wows me every time I turn it on!
I have gotten the phone to lag at some points but that's when I'm pushing it pretty hard. That's not too bad because once I load an over clocked kernel on it the lag should be gone for good.
overall the phone is simply amazing! I think I'll still be very happy with my purchase even after all the big 2012 models are announced in the next couple of months.
can't go wrong with a nexus!
EDIT: the phone is very snappy! when I say I've gotten it to lag, I mean it's not that often and I'm really working the phone hard to see it stutter but that was normal use with my evo even with OC and CM7.1

Signal issues and mtp are the only issues I'm having. The phone is smooth as butter. Best on the market right now.
Okay thanks going to buy it as soon as my local store got it in stock
Now before I get flamed for asking such a ridiculous question, let me start off by saying that I know the SG3 is an awesome phone and it had features and does things better/faster than the SG2. That being said, is it REALLY worth the upgrade?
I've had my SG2 for a little over a year. I'm eligible for an upgrade on October 2 and I'm debating on whether or not I should switch over to the SG3. I really love my SG2. I have it rooted and customized perfectly (for me). The only thing that I wish was better is the battery life...its still better than most android ICS phones, but it still drains pretty fast with moderate - heavy use (yes I've already played around with different ROMs, kernels and modems). While I'm at work I have to keep the phone connected to WiFi because I don't get the best reception in my office...so that causes the battery to drain as well. Because battery life is a concern I also keep it slightly undervolted, which causes it to be somewhat slow and laggy, but it gives me the best battery life. I know the SG3 is certainly going to be faster than my SG2...but is battery life that much better? I know its a bigger battery, but there's a lot more for the SG3 to power (compared to the SG2), so I'm wondering if battery life is a wash.
Anyway...for those of you that upgraded from the SG2...what are your impressions...was it worth it?
Thanks in advance!
