Definitely going to spring on this if the battery door isn't fugly. I can't properly enjoy a smartphone without an extended battery.
Agreed. Plus I have the samsung dock so it wont play nice I am sure but I would be willing to try it out if it gets good reviews.
I got the 3950mah battery off ebay. it works VERY well and appears to be very well made.
the replacement cover "feels" cheap but the fit and finish are PERFECT once installed have had no issues.
the phone is also easier to hold. the extra "edges" created by the extended battery bulge make it easier to hang on to the bugger its so thing stock hehe
sadly I will likely use the stock battery most days so I can use cases and docks.

In case you need an extended battery now, I can report success with a Mugen 3200mAh unit that was intended for a Sprint Touch Pro 2. It cost $70 or 80 when I bought it around Christmas time from an eBay vendor (couldn't find it anywhere else online). Turns out the person I got it for had a Touch Pro 1 and this battery was not compatible so it's been sitting around the house ever since. I just popped it into my EVO 4G and it works perfectly as far as I can tell. Boots up normally and is charging as expected. Of course the back plate does not fit over the fat battery so I left that off and replaced the jelly case which stretches over the whole thing well enough.

Hero batteries work also.. a lot of HTC phone's use the same batteries. I have like 4 batteries for my evo lol
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280492889203&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I bought these a while back.. worked great in my hero and work just as good in my evo. Plus now I have a standalone wall-charger. Took about a week or so to get here since its coming from Hong Kong.. But it was well worth the ~$10 for 2 batteries and a charger..
ok, i stole its soul for you.
well im glad i order mine from seidio since it comes with the back case but this is good info so i can pass my oem battery to my wife for hero hero with weak battery life
Lol. Nice evo . It's the humpback of xda.
Sent from my Evo 4G
that is disgusting! but more power to you hahaha...lets hope seidio lets you buy just the ext battery cover
oh sweet mother of god i would feel all grossed out if i tried to handle my phone and it was all squishy at the parts that aren't touching the battery or the frame...
How's the battery life with the 3200? After doing some battery life tweaks and mods mine seems to almost be sufficent with the stocker, but it can always use some improvement.
If you don't mind sacrificing the case, I would try cutting a rectangle in it that would leave the protruding part of the battery exposed and let the case hug the phone the way its supposed to. If you cut it just right, the batt should stay in place since it looks like it has a bit of an edge for the case to grip on to.
I'M starting think I should just cancel my order for the 3500 battery and get me 2 1500. What do you guys think?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I'm using the battery from my tp2 as a spare, and carry it in the smaller pocket in my jeans,i don't even feel it there sometimes. With battery tweaks and charging it in my car (usually around 30 min at a time), I only have to occasionally change to the 2nd battery. If you are sensitive to bulk, then go for 2 batteries to split the load, otherwise a bigger battery is more convenient.

Given some of the results from BatteryBoss, I'd say that the battery isn't going to perform at a full 3500mAh. It will still be more than an OEM battery, sure, but I couldn't justify doubling the size of the phone to put it in. You might be better off getting another OEM battery, HTC seems to give about 99% of what they say.
if that site batteryboss is accurate then Mugen's batteries are crap. twice the size for 50% more juice. however, some anecdotal evidence to the contrary: after buying the wrong one, i bought another Mugen extended battery that does work for the TP1 and the recipient is very happy with it. reports that the 3200mAh it lasts about twice as long as the OEM battery.
probably smart to just get another HTC 1500mAh. after the latest update battery drain is much less of an issue anyway.
So can I just go in to a sprint store and ask for a hero battery For free?

The batteries + charger that was listed earlier in this thread work GREAT I've been using them for a few days now great freaking deal ($10 shippped)
Anyone know if the Tilt battery here will fit the Evo with a modified case / back plate? http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Extended-Li-Ion-Battery-RHOD170/dp/B002Y24MJ2
I know Seidio makes a modified back plate that looks like it would fit this and according to battery boss this is the gold standard of extended batteries.
Also confirmed, the Mugen 4500mAh battery for Sprint Touch Pro 2 works in the Evo as expected. It's very... thick. About as thick as the Evo with a jelly sleeve on. Put together it's like the Evo has it's own little podium to stand on.
Assuming batteryboss tests are accurate then true capacity is closer to 75% or ~3375mAh. Main purpose for me is a power supply that can run GPS tracking apps like Cardio Trainer all day uninterrupted. Thickness not an issue since the whole package is tucked away in a Camelback.
Got it on eBay, I don't know where else to find them. Mugen is OOS and ridiculously expensive anyway. An alternative would be an external battery pack that supplies power through a USB port, then cable it to Evo.
There has to be another phone that the battery fits back when i had the G2 on tmobile the Droid Incredibles 1750 battery fit the G2 but it put strain on the case.
so my question is has anyone tried an alternative that have multiple phone on verizon because i cant i only have 2 thunderbolt
so i found that the mytouch 4g 1500 mAh batteries fit what about the mytouch 4g mugen 1650 mAh battery i will get the 1650 if it fits

The max voltage of my Seidio is 4200 fully charged after bumping... The stock battery is roughly the same. My guess is the stock my touch 4G battery will outperform both of them. OEM batteries seem to test better than Seidio. And lets be honest... even the mytouch 4G battery is only 1500... not like its going to blow your mind.. we are talking maybe 30 minutes more of life.

I just received a Mugen 1650 today. Haven't been able to test the life yet, but it is a tight fit and keeps my power button from popping back out. I have to squeeze the sides hard to make it pop out, otherwise the phone thinks I am still holding it in and asks if I want to power off. Unfortunately, I think I will be returning the 1650, this just isn't a good fix for battery life at the moment.

It seems to have loosened a bit overnight, by that I mean the button pops back up. But it starts to stick after a few presses. Granted, I usually don't push my power button 15 times in 30 seconds. I will leave it in for a few days and see if I have any more problems.

well, i posted in another thread but basically i have the seidio 1600mah battery and there's practically no difference in that compared to the stock 1500 battery. that being the case, i highly doubt the 1750 is going to be much of a difference either.
then again, i am a heavy user and can kill my seidio 1600 in just over 2 hours of solid activity.
I post the same question in another forum but I guess nobody haven't try it yet....
I was wondering about this one, or the mytouch 1650. Can people please enlighten us?
From the research I did before buying the VZW extended battery the actual life of the Seidio batteries appears to be less than the stock battery, regardless of the claims.
That being said I do own a Seidio battery but have not noticed an increase in battery life.
My roomate just got this battery so I can ask her if she is noticing a difference. I personally just bought another stock battery and swap out when they die. I can usually go through the whole day if I switch 4g off when I am not using it.
I did however, buy the Seidio battery charger which works great with the stock batteries.

Hello.
Noob
I want to get a better-lasting battery for my vibrant.
I know that some devices by Samsung have better batteries. The Infuse, for example, have a 1850mAh battery.
Can I get the infuse battery and use it on my Vibrant? Is that possible?
(don't want anything to explode
Also, is there a battery by Samsung (it has to be OEM!) that is even higher than 1850mAh?
Thanks so much!
The best Vibrant battery is the Epic Touch 4G's 1800mah battery. It can be found at MobileCityOnline, or you can do an eBay or Google search for it. There are other, bigger batteries that require an extended battery door, but the non-Samsung batteries promising more than 1500mah are usually lying. The Epic Touch 4G's battery is made by Samsung so you know it's legitimate, and by some stroke of luck it fits in our Vibrants.

By this i conclude that FROYO has a better battery life?
If this is true, it's surprising. I thought that GB and the ROMs that based on it are superior in battery life to Froyo
which is better... the oem 1800 mah or the momax 2700 mah. i don't care about thickness. im just wondering since momax is kind of a generic battery brand
if one is better then the other please send me a reliable link to it.
You can't pack more mah in the battery without physically making it bigger so anything that claims of over 2000 is a lie.
The cake is a lie.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
Cerv3r, I didn't get the impression they where claiming the 2700mAh was no larger than the stock battery. I'm guessing its a double size, and since a normal sized battery can pack as much as 1800, a double could easily pack 2700.

Yes, Froyo is better. Froyo has been officially release for the Vibrant where as we are using a port from the i9000 for GB. So things are not perfect. Correct me if I am wrong...and Ive been wrong before...
Head on over to tridentcase.com and pick up the Electra series case for the Samsung Galaxy S 4g (compatible with Samsung Vibrant). Great looking case that makes your phone look awesome, protects it and comes with a 2800 mah battery. Doesn't add that much bulk either because the Vibrant is already super thin. I get a day and a half easy while using my phone under normal conditions with the battery.

With EB625152VA the original Vibrant back cover can't close
For anybody that is reading this thread, I just tried EB625152VA Epic Touch 4G's 1800mAh battery as many people here have suggested. It fits the socket and battery contacts perfectly. However, it is slightly thicker than the original EB575152LA 1650 mAh which prevents the battery cover from closing properly no matter how hard I tried to force it in. There are back covers that can accommodate this battery and even larger, but for what it's worth, I don't think the additional 150 mAh is worth it.
I'm wondering if any company has released a extended battery case or an extended battery for the galaxy s3
http://www.amazon.com/Onite-4500mAh-Extended-Battery-Smartphone/dp/B0082BYK8M
For my old phone, I had really a low battery and I never had a chance to charge it. I bought an extra battery, but i still had a low battery problem since the original one was almost dying. I had to buy an portable battery functions as extended battery. I used it all the time until i got a new phone. Not sure if you need a battery for galaxy s3 for now. But, this is the battery that I used for my old phon in case you might be interested in. http://www.spigen.com/etc-accesories-2/kuel-series/sgp-portable-mobile-battery-kuel-f60q-series.html

when I bought my s3 last week they had genuine samsung batteries for sale for $39 ($AU) which is about the same in $US.
Given that it is easy to replace, and how much I will probably spend on cases and car mounts, an extended battery would have to be very good and cheap.
