Downgrade Flash 11 to flash 10.3 - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

If anybody is still having trouble getting video to play after the latest flash update from 10.3 to 11 just uninstall 11 and download 10.3 from here:
link
It works just like it did before, any moderators if we have another Thread like this one laying around please feel free to deleted but I didn't see one
if you use Dolphin browser and is not working for you try the following:
Use root explorer(any other root explorer is fine) to go into Data > Data > Find Browser folder > App_plugins > com.adobe.flashplayer> .macromedia > flashplayer > Long press config.data > permissions > uncheck all the boxes.

its working now. Thanks

Im glad is working for you

Sorry for noob questions, but
Does this require root to accomplish? Can I use this file to upgrade from 10.2 flash to 10.3?
I only ask because I'm new to the Inc2 having come from DX where I could drop apks into a directory and install from there. Inc doesn't seem to let me do that. And no, I'm not rooted, my Inc2 came with 2.3.4.

nope no root require just unistall the 10.2 version thru applications -> manage apps and install the 10.3

Hmm did this and still no vids.I it was acting up awhile ago on me thought it was just skyfire browser acting. So tried bunch of stuff but nothing, wrote email to skyfire they were no help no reply.Wasnt sure bout if it was up to date so i installed latest version still no. Now i just downgraded and still no vid this is on like 4 different browsers i tried too. So i dunno Any other ideas?

Flash Player 10.1 Confirmed working

Yeah apk which is posted on forum tested working on my Galaxy S. Now browsing with flash.
Were can I find the apk? Thanks.
Are you sure it's not the Flash Lite 3.1 that is working?
http://galaxys.samsungmobile.com/specification/spec.html?ver=low
Here it states that SGS comes with it, not sure Flash 10.1 has overriden it.
APK Here its posted on Evo forums
Its 10.1.
Try it
wow if this is true it is amazing, i dont actually need to wait for 2.2 to come out
Thanks for the link.
couldnt get it to work, tried youtube.
It doesn't work.
Edit: Used Astro Apps manager to uninstall. But before that, tried to launch it directly. A popup message said that Activity not found.
Went to check @ www.whatismyflash.com, and it stated clearly no flash was installed.
Didn't work for me either :-(
Wow for a second I thought that it really will work and I dont need 2.2..... check it before posting false info -.-
whatismyflash does work for me though.. Also some sites seem to work, but not all.
enable/allow plugins or flash from your phone's default browser
yup,try that. afterwards try accessing a flash website.
this might help you enable flash in galaxy s.
"whatismyflash"
After checking this site it detects my flash a 9.xx.xx
im using the stock browser, do i need to power off after installing flash 10.1?
hmmmm...
not really. after enabling plugins from the browser settings.. went to youtube straight away and watch some videos straight from the browser.. and played some amazing puzzle games at eyemaze website.
some websites that require 10.xx.xx flash and other websites doesn't seem to load.. for the reason.. don't really a clue.

I am also Galaxy S user.. i also install adobe flash 10.1.. also cannot work..
check with Whatismyflash.com ot show Flash player 9.1.xx not 10.1.
How you make it to work?
Doesnt Work
This is my first android phone and not sure how much write access the installers have to the system on the i9000 but...
I have just installed the APK and still get flash player 9 which is the pre-install lite.. (apk is stored in /system/apps/flashlite)
/system/ looks to be readonly and cannot be overwritten unless you have root access.
not sure but this could be why its not working.
Might be worth someone with root access testing.
Can someone check is justin.tv works woth this?

Hey Luke,
Been experiencing this problem ever since i got this phone, i've now tried every firmware update possible, no real fix as yet. I suspected it had something to do with the fact that i moved from a Nexus One with Froyo back to Eclair, but it sounds like you haven't done that.
Let me know if you find a fix... would love to be able to use my market the way it was intended.

yes thanks that was the solution iforget todo factory reset
now works fine
I already had 2 crash/freeze with this kernel, it looks definitely unstable.
2 crashes situation :
1/ Pressing stop/play in xiialive lite
2/ listening audio in the standard mp3 player.
It crashed both time using the audio device.
I waited 1min the first time, hoping OOm killer or something else would kill a bad behaving process; without success.
The second time, i did not had time to loose :/
Very disapointing !
2 days after installing JS2 I'm still unable to connect to Market.
I'm unable to setup the Google login. Error is always no server available or something in that manner. Selecting clearing cache in recovery also did not help either.
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks.
If you are not able to login to the market, then you will have a general problem..
Because you can even login if you dont have the market fix..
The market fix is just for secure apps...

Yeah, wrong section. This would be a Q&A thread. Anyways, the best way to fix it is to do a factory reset. There are some problems reported after running the update without wiping, so definitely wipe to make sure everything is working.

1.1 Firmware mirror for NST

So I just picked up a nook simple touch and am eager to root it, I've done plenty with Android on phones, never an ebook though. I've been reading the material here and had a couple questions.
1.) It looks like 1.1 firmware is needed for most of the roots here, however B&N only lists 1.2 currently. Does anyone have a mirror to 1.1 or tell me how to get that, currently I'm on 1.0.1
2.) If I can't get 1.1 are there any roots that will work for 1.2? I've been following the thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346748 and it looks like it only works from 1.1 by the sound of it.
3.) Is everyone or anyone using the NoRefreshToggle? If so what do you think? Is it worth trying it out? Dangers of using it? When you toggle it off do you get greyscale back? From the sounds of the post, it's pure black and white with it on which is fine if when I disable it, it goes back to normal greyscale images.
4.) Did anyone find out how to turn off page animations in the kindle app? not a big deal, just wondering.
Thanks a lot, look forward to trying this out.
Here's a copy of nook_1_1_update.zip I pulled down from B&N a few weeks ago: http://www.mediafire.com/?h5kn1214gfjhkcg In the end I didn't need it, so I can't confirm how the upgrade works (the instructions said just put the file within the zip on an SD card and reboot)

Thanks for the 1.1 post link, however I updated to 1.1.2 and followed the instructions and everything seems to be ok, I can get email, install from the market place, only thing I can't do is search the market. A search just lists a blank page and doesn't find any apps, any ideas.
As for the Kindle question, after installing kindle app and seeing the performance, this isn't a big deal at all.
Still curious on the refresh toggle however, any ideas on that, have you guys tried it out? I may post there if I don't hear back.
Thanks

I have checked and as you said market search functionality is absent, it seems to be broken since the Googleplay thing.
As a way to regain it, in the mean time we get an updated market working, install Searchmarket.
The NorefreshToggle is still in early stages, but works quite well for webpages, etc.
Try it, there are no risks on it, on any program when you enable the app it will work, and when you go into a menu it will return to normal grayscale.

How do I install Searchmarket if I can't search the market for it lol ... Do I have to install it on my phone first, then transfer the apk over to the NST, then file browse and install it from /system/app ?
I tried NoRefreshToggle, it's interesting, like you said a work in progress ... Tried it with GReader unfortunatly it shuts off between Feed view and Article view which is a pain, but I think that's probably to avoid ghosting.
As for web page viewing, Opera Mini FCs on me everytime I open it, as does the stock browser, so I haven't been able to try browsing as of yet Still looking for a solution to that one.
Thanks for all the info, really enjoying the NST if NoRefreshToggle keeps getting better this could really be a killer device

Please tell me this is not the case? Also is there a way to delete the download period, even if it's not installed I'd rather it not eating up limited memory that I have.

Not from what I've read, read on this site an official statement from dolphin saying flash wasn't supported on 4.4. Besides I find that dolphin's flash support is not always the best, i like having a few browsers because I find certain browsers handle certain sites flash better. My biggest concern is if I power the device off will I be forced to update since my nexus 7 has already downloaded but not installed the update. The one way that I know of how to stop an OTA update first requires that you be rooted. If so you can use an app called Autostarts. Open the app go to Menu click on "Group by application." Scroll down to "Google Services Framework" and click on that. At the top you will see 4 "After Startup" entries. Click on the third "After Startup" entry from the top. In the popup window you should see "SystemUpdateService$Receiver" in the description, that's the one you want to disable. To delete the update I'm not 100% positive but I'm thinking if you delete the cache from Google Services Framework that will delete the update. Or Settings/Storage and click on "Cached data." Honestly, those are guesses because it's been a longtime since I've had to do that! SD Maid Pro will delete the update also but that app also requires root. After flashing the 4.4 factory image when it first came out I went back to 4.3 until I find a replacement for the AOSP Browser, damn it google!
Edit: Decided three weeks ago to give Dolphin another try, installed on my N5 with a hacked version of the flash player and it's working great! Used the factory image to flash 4.4.2 on the N7 and installed Dolphin Browser which now has the Jetpack built-in and it works well! Dolphin Browser with hacked flash player.

It's the zip file in /cache. It will reappear though. Rename /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip. And then don't go into the updates screen again, it will trigger the download which is several hundred megabytes once more. You need to be rooted.
I used the method posted here:

Indeed, just installed this and after a reboot, the prompt has gone away and it tells me the system is up to date. Thanks. And another demonstration that people don't come here simply to get hold of custom roms!
Thanks for all the answers but nobody has yet to give a straight forward answer as to whether I will be forced to update if I reboot my n7. Sometimes I'm forced to reboot when I have a hang up and I'd hate to think when that day comes I'm going to be forced to update to kitkat. I'm also not rooted and would like to stay that way. I know to many of you it seems quite easy but everything I've read makes it seem very daunting and confusing. Kernels, bootloaders, Roms, flashing....its a lot more than I thought it would be when I went android.

I have rebooted many times while the update notification was present and never had the upgrade automatically applied.
I haven't rebooted into recovery though so I cannot say if what I said holds if you do that.
For me, I'd just add an empty line to /system/build.prop
It is an empty line so it is assured not to change any behavior and every OTA update will try and patch build.prop at which point it does a SHA1 checksum compare, finds your current build.prop has been modified, and stops the OTA before it even starts modifying a single file.
This assures you that if by accident you select the OTA to install, it won't actually do anything.
You can do similar things with other files, I just chose build.prop as an easy example.

If you take your time and read instructions carefully its very easy to root a Nexus 7. Either way, why don't you just reboot it and see if it goes to 4.4 and then do a factory reset. That should bring you back to your out of box jelly bean. Of course you'd lose your data but you can back that all up.

I deleted the update from /cache and got rid of the notification but if I go to system, about device, updates it still tells me the update is "downloaded and verified". How can I make it realize the update is no longer there?

I got the notification that the kitkat update was downloaded but after reading there is no flash support I have absolutely no interest in installibg this update. I got a nexus 7 over an iPad solely because I could use flash which is the only game in town on many sites I visit regularly. I got rid of the notification by unchecking notifications in the framework app but I'm worried if my tablet reboots/powers off that I will forced to update before it starts up. Please tell me this is not the case? Also is there a way to delete the download period, even if it's not installed I'd rather it not eating up limited memory that I have.

Hello, I did that ^^^^^^^^^^ using autostarts and checked it several times to be sure I had it correct.
All seemed good, except today an update from VZW went through on me and I didn't want it to. I looked in the cache dir and nothing was in there, yet the phone kept saying it wanted to install the update. I kept telling it not right now, but after awhile it had a mind of it's own and installed/updated anyhow. My VZW GS4 went from MJ7 to MK2 not even sure what changes it made, I'm still on JB 4.3 and I don't want KitKat 4.4
I don't understand how the update came through and where it was d/l to, I checked yet again and the "SystemUpdateService$Receiver" is disabled, exactly as shown in your pics. The broke my Root, but I still showed custom when it re-booted, so it wasn't too hard to establish Root again. Now I'm very worried that sooner or later they are going to push/force KitKat 4.4 to the S4 and I don't want it; I should have a choice to not accept it, it's my device that I paid for
Any ideas on this before KK 4.4 bites me?
Thanks
