I'm running midnight 2.1, lost kernel.
when I'm using Poweramp or mediaplayer pro, I could be listening to music through the headphones, but all notifications, including battery, text, or new email, will all come out of the speaker.
does anyone else have this issue

Whenever I listen to music through wired headphones, there is always some sort of disturbance sound in the background while playing. I have tried multiple types of headphones, I have tried multiple types of adapters for 3.5mm headphones.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem while listening to music through a wired headset? The sound is subtle, but it drives me crazy!
I think that it is a problem with the driver- is there a different audio driver for the Rhodium?
I highly doubt that it is just me experiencing this because I have heard the same annoying sounds on my friend's computer speakers, and sometimes on my computer speakers too. (and yes, other people can hear the sounds too )
I really hope someone can help me out here, thanks
Are you using the HTC music player, Media Player, or a 3rd party app?
Is the sound present on various songs?
I haven't noticed any type of background noise on my Tilt2, and I listen to music on it quite a lot. But I don't have headphones right now to check (if its something I just haven't noticed before).
Can you describe the sounds more? High pitched or low? Constant tone, or comes and goes, or repeats?
I have a TMOUSA TP2. It is persistent in any audio that comes out via a wired headset. It doesn't matter which music player I use. I have tried Windows Media, Nitrogen, TF3D Music Tab, and CorePlayer.
Hello,
Ever since switching to Cyanogenmod, when listening to music using the stock player, Pandora, or Winamp, the music will randomly pause. The players seem to act as if they received a pause signal (eg: headphones unplugged), This issue occurs with headphones plugged in, external speakers, or using the phone's built in speaker. I'm not sure what is causing this but is there a fix? I'm hoping that there is just some setting I messed up.
Thanks!
I just received my Epic 4G Touch on Friday, and I'm experiencing an issue where notification sounds will always be played through the phone speaker even though I have headphones plugged in. I am using the stock ROM, and this behavior is happening rooted or unrooted (I just rooted this morning).
Here are the different scenarios where I always have this happen now.
- Listening to a podcast through Pocketcasts with my phone directly connected to my car stereo system via headphone jack. Podcast is playing through the car speakers just fine. I will receive a gtalk chat, and the podcast is silenced briefly to play the notification sound, however the notification sound will be played from the phone speaker.
- Listening to music through the Google Music app with headphones at the gym. I'll be using the C25K app to send a verbal notification for when to run or walk. It plays through the phone speaker and alerts the whole gym. =\
- And then I just tested it right now. With literally NOTHING playing in the background but with a pair of headphones plugged in. I sent myself a gtalk message from an alternate account, and it plays the gtalk notification sound through the phone speaker.
I upgraded from an HTC EVO 4G, so this is obviously bizarre behavior and not a problem I experienced with my previous phone. It worked properly.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Does anyone know how to fix this?
Not sure what is kosher behavior here on the forums, but since this thread hadn't gotten a response yet and had fallen to the second page, I just wanted to give it a little bump back up.
Hopefully others can at least confirm whether or not they are also experiencing this problem.
I actually used to experience this with my Epic 4G
and I literally just tested it (the way you did, with just the headphones in) on my ET4G and yup, I get the same thing
Also, on my Epic 4G, my music would stop playing if 1. my ringer volume was NOT on silent/vibrate and 2. when I got a notification
so I'm more than sure my ET4G does it as well
I have not utilized the new voice features on the ET4G, so I can't comment on that
I don't know if this is a flawed or purposed design, but you are not alone, lol
*I don't know if there are any fixes for it. only thing I could imagine would be some kind of custom rom
has there been any fix for this?
Music + Headphone + Notification = Angry Coworkers
I need to bump this question up (instead of reposting the question). This has annoyed me for a while, but today I was blasting my music with my headphones on, then suddenly I got a meeting reminder. Playing the notification over the speakerphone is one thing, but when the notification is played via the phone's speaker, it also blasts my music via the phone speaker throughout the duration of the notification too!
The only resolution I see for now is to put the phone on silent whenever you want to listen to music via your headset, otherwise if you get a notification, people will get a loud blast of Lenny Kravitz.
Does anyone know if this happens with the more popular custom roms? I'm currently stock. Thanks!
I have this issue also, the silent mode only works sometimes for some reason
Is there anything we can futz around with to send more sound through the Bluetooth headset? Notification sounds and applications like Skype and Google Talk don't send the audio through Bluetooth, which is immensely annoying.
I think it's dependent on the Bluetooth headset you are using. I had an older Motorola headset that would not play music or game audio through it. I recently purchased the Elite Flip Headset and it plays music and audio. I also get notification tones in it.
That may be, but I wasn't quite accurate when I said it wouldn't play notifications: it will play notifications through Bluetooth, but it plays them through the speaker as well.
I'm using the RF-MAB2, which isn't generally giving people problems. Worse than the notifications bug is the fact that my video chat apps won't play through Bluetooth at all. Makes them practically useless for me.
Hi everybody, first post on xda.
I have this problem on my GNex: when i listen to the music with headphones (through poweramp mainly) and i get a notification, the sound of the notification clips a little and after that the audio volume get lower for one or two secs... as far as i know this doesn't seem to happen w/o headphones and happens with all the roms i've tried, even with the stock, all tried with various kernel.
The same problem happens to any of you?
i am unlocked, rooted, but with stock 4.0.2 rom and kernel.
don't use Poweramp, but listen to Google Music throughout the day, and have no problem with notifications using headphones.
