Can you get 4g on stock with the incredible?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Don't believe so. Our phone does not have the chip nor can it handle the 4G capability. Not that the phones that offer 4G cam handle it too well either.

No. There is no way to get 4G on this phone.
Sent from my Droid Incredible running a random CM7 nightly.
No

Oh I just have 4g on my phone even though it says it's 3g only but this is the captivate

Sorry to burst your bubble. But the captivate isn't 4G. The only 4G LTE phones VZW has now are the HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Droid Charge, and the LG Revolution.
I'm just waiting for a dual core LTE phone. But I'm in no hurry, upgrade isn't till middle of next year.

lol, i agree
but, no, the incredible is a 3G Smartphone, as it says on the box, no way to make it 4g connectable
as said before, Verizon does have another 4g phone on the way (the bionic) but, as of right now, they only have 3 on sale.
troll much? "yeah, I have H on my captivate". Who cares

what they call 4g is HSPA +, not just H. That's like saying I have an iPhone, it runs the i operating system. Well I have a droid, it runs A. I like A better than i.

yeah but some people don't even know the first thing about the iPhone's operating system let alone android.
i just love how iPhone users come to me with my rooted droid inc, and all like "i have the 3 gees and i have the wifi, and stuff" and continue to blab about crap they have no idea how to work. i mean, if you have it, fine, just don't try to talk to me about the phone and "how it works, and i am a developer" when you don't even know how to make phonecalls on the damn thing.
Like the title says. I've found how to port it to Metro PCS but not to verizon. How would I go around doing that.

I don't think its possible. 2 different satellites, stuff like that
Sent from my Epic with a lil' ice cream on it
Actually its possible but unsure if its legal. Verizon has cmda and this is a cdma phone. But it wouldn't be legal to get it to work on verizon. Prepaid networks care less what you do with esn's on other phones but big red doesn't allow flashing. But I could be wrong.

The exact phone pretty much on VZ is Samsung Stratosphere.
Differences is that Stratosphere is LTE, No HD Recording, No LED for Camera, 1.3mp versus our 0.3mp and you have panorama built in, stratosphere has BT 3.0 vs 2.1(Us), 802.11 a is added for Stratosphere, TTY/TDD on stratosphere and some type of hearing aid ability and GPS to track phone E911.
Mainly as a phone its pretty much got some newer features is all
It doesn't have stable cm9, BAM!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
And the stratosphere has a 1800 capacity battery like the epic touch but it's a different size them the touch.
Sent from a CM9 powered Epic.
I'd be more interested in porting the epic touch gs2 on Verizon would make me happy camper. Don't care about 4g. Hmmm
Has anyone been noticing any strange network types on your toro+ I usually get EVDO REV A:8 but lately it has been jumping between EVDO REV A:6, EVDO REV 0:5, and 1xRTT:7 never seen all these different types before I just noticed it when I started using Jelly Bean. Speeds are slower also unless I'm by the Sprint store then I would see like 2mb/s but anywhere else more like .5

To tell you the truth.
I don't ever pay attention on my toroplus. Lol
I have rev a6

Absolutely
ACS rc1 stock
I think its just sprint messing around with their antennas.
If you don't think so maybe nandroid backup and wipe and reflash jelly bean see if it persists.
Or try a different kernel?

Since I see that you are seeing the same things I think it might be because its an LTE phone because my Photon doesn't display those networks I see I have data upgrades, and voice upgrades planned and some they say have been completed maybe it could be Network Vision. Normally if I had no bars call would not go thru neither would text but now it seems they will with no bars. Speed is slower since I'm on the outskirts of where towers are but better connectivity I can't explain it

My experience with sprint is that they have really screwy connectivity. I love their phones.. except the 4s which I hated and was useless. And I love their 'unlimited' data. But right now their going through a tough time. And that's cause I've been paying for 4g for almost two years and I have not gotten a single drop of wimax when I had the epic and the epic touch. Nor a drop of lte now that I have a toroplus.

Yea I know what you mean I'm in the same boat I'm looking for a gsm phone right now to leave sprint I wanna stick it out but the promise of 4g after 2 years is a bit much to handle seeing how I never got it now I just wanna go prepaid

But also my step dad bought a moto renegade and was promised push to talk... never happened
He bought an evo 3d... now its discontinued...
He's also been paying for phantom 4g.. he's pissed haha he's gonna see if he can "talk" with sprint to see if he can get a GS3...
I think that's pretty hilarious

I really wish there was like a toggle or 4g switch like it was with wimax, this luck of the draw 4g kills me, but my main thing is I hope tethering comes back, sprint really blocked it this time

Does it work with EasyTether?
Yeah its really spotty and on/off for me. Weird observation though... I get 4g with my note in places I don't with my Galaxy Nexus.
Darn them, talked to a shentel rep (people that control sprint towers where I am) and these lte siting are just the test sites -_- but hey, at least full lte will be out at the end of the year for me at least, but hey for test speed of anywhere from, 8-20mb down?! I can't complain, but hey, I saw the same speeds with my wimax 4g, so to each his own

With Note 2 i get LTE everywhere in Dallas Ft. Worth. Even traveling to other cities through tolls where development is not really there. Just alot of trees. I even get LTE in most people homes. Nexus never had this strong of a signal and if LTE switched the phone would freeze. I can honestly say this is a good phone.

[email protected] you Texas!!!!! Lol, but great speeds man, I still haven't seen anything near that in good ol pa, shentel needs to hurry up!!! But for the test site, I pretty much get lte in the majority of areas I go to, and at least get 2mb down at home if I'm not using wifi for 3g

I am also seeing very little battery drain from 4G. The radios in this phone are amazing (especially compared to the Nexus).
I havent gotten my note yet but I was also really concern on how would lte and the battery would play. Are some of you guys noticing big drains or small drains with lte on?

Depends, since a lot of areas are tests sites, lte does drop on and off for me, but battery still lasts all day, I say Samsung got it right with the battery, hope other manufacturers follow suit

They have recently expanded their signal here in dallas, texas and now I get 4g on my work which I never usually got any 4g signal because of this old bulding but now I get some strong 4g signal. Props for sprint but my speeds are not that fast, I usually get max 5 or even 6 thats it :S

No, voice is 1x, data is 3g. Dual antennas. 1 for the voice channel, 1 for the data channel.

You just noticed what has been present on Sprint's GS3 since it launched. :victory: Keep in mind though that it's a network AND hardware feature. As of now, the only Sprint phones that support this feature are the GS3 and HTC Evo LTE (Sprint's HTC One X variant).
Even though I've been in a position to use this feature sparingly (but often enough that i was glad it was there), it's made me hesitant to leave my GS3 for a Note 2.

I just got my phone a week ago... so ya, just noticed
I noticed the ATT commercial said they were the only network where you could browse and talk on your iphone 5 at the same time. I'm surprised the note 2 doesn't have the dual antennas. I wonder why they didn't continue it.
The dual antenna was an origanal requierment of 3g and 4g. Shouldve been stock for years now.... nice they kicked in though
