Hi guys !
Two days ago my DHD could not access GMAIL and apps such as Google talk and android store. I've tried every thing but nothing helps, still can not get access to my Gmail.
It tells me that there is a sync problem.
I tried to erase the gmail app and clear the cash but it didn't help.
I've tried "factory data reset" and it didn't work either...
I even tried to open a new Gmail account and when i tried to get in i got a message : "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server".
"This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not be provisioned for data services."
Please help me !!!!!!
Have you checked with who your operator is? I know you wouldn't want it this way, but can you access it through wifi? Through internet via computer?
Are you sure your background data is enabled?.. cleared caches?
These are very basic questions, but maybe one of them could help.. if not I hope your problem is sorted as soon as possible for you

I did all you asked and nothing helps...
I can't even get trough the explorer to the gmail.com site, it won't open up.
Other sites works properly.
Try turning background data off, restart your phone and enable after restart... there's been times where because of the battery saver option.. it turns your backdata off, but doesn't turn it back on.. but it turns the toggle on.. Google market needs background data..
Only other thing I suggest, is root your phone.. and get a custom ROM, it might be something in your system which is corrupt, that a factory reset isn't solving!
I'm sorry I can't help more

Ok I searched for you, and the solution could be to go into your YouTube application, go to Settings > Add gmail account and re-enter your gmail settings..
If that doesn't help, could maybe try for more solutions here;

Eventually i tried everything and nothing really helped so i called my provider and asked them to do a reset and it solved the problem...

I have recently purchased a Desire from somebody who either has unlocked it or it is already unlocked it seems unbranded.
I have a problem in that their default email is stuck on the phone and I cannot for the life of me remove it after looking through google search the way it is carried out on a hero doesn’t apply here. I cannot get access to the market place!
If I go into menu->accounts and sync->manage account->remove account
It brings up a notification explaining that I must reset the phone to factory defaults? Is this a wise move? Or the only option here?
I am worried that this will leave the phone no longer unlocked. Common sense or past knowledge tells me this won’t be the case but the whole android thing is new to me... ?
Advice would be greatly appreciated.
Just do factory reset

Menu - Settings - Applications - Manage applications. Go to gmail and gmail storage and clear data. See if that helps. Sometimes this needs to be done a few times. Try turning off sync before you do it.
Gmail wont let me send any emails whatsoever they just sit in my outbox. I thought it was a problem with the miui rom but I guess its not since I flashed back to cm 6.1.1 and still can't send anything ,
Any clue on why I can't send anything? I can still receive email just can't send anything.

I have the same problem....
it stopped syncing my outbox yesterday..
I'm on dhd port baadnwz 1.7c
when I was on stock froyo, this problem would sometimes appear, then I would rebbot my phone and it would sync...
now, I tried restoring to an earlier state(same rom), tried wiping dalvik, nothing...
it just won't send any emails...when I send them from my computer, it works, it doesn't only on my phone
very annoying stuff, driving me crazy, anyone have an idea what is going on??
tnx
well, I think I solved it
I uninstalled and again installed the gmail app from the market and it seems that it is working...
I'm not 100% satisfied because it is not a permanent solution, probably it will get stuck again..
but then again, it is working again
cheers
I think that what generally works in this case is going into Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All
Choose Gmail, and then clear the cache. It will then re-sync gmail, and it should work.
You could also clear the data --- if clearing the cache doesn't work, but you would have to redo your gmail settings (e.g. Vibrate, ringtone, signature). Uninstall and install does this as well.

a friend of mine told me he had the same problem...and that it was because the inbox was overloaded...to many emails in it..
so I tried it, erased whole bunch of it and it's ok now...
got my sgs today setup everything perfect but Facebook isnt able to log int in the accounts and sync therefor no contact from fb or events in my calendar can anyone advice. Thanks.
Hi there! I had the same problem and the solution i used was to log on using a different network (I know it sounds stupid, but it works). So if you're using you mobile data connection, connect to a wifi connection instead, or if you're already on wifi then connect to another wifi access point. Then try logging in again, it should all work.

ok but what's the logic in it?? i dont get it.
Solution doesnt work on mine with Gingerbread.
With Froyo all was ok.
After updating to gingerbread, facebook stopped to sync. Everything else is working fine (facebook app, launcher pro fb widget). Tryed to flash back to JS8 but still got the same error message: login failed, try again.
Tryed also disable platfom applications from facebook, but this did not work.
would higly appreciate if some on could find a solution for this problem. Right now i am back to gingerbread.
Ive reflashed many times with quite a few ROMs, both 2.2 and 2.3 and no luck. And on top of that Ive messed up my cameras firmware. ..

Btw, contacts were syncing with FB but not calendar. ..

Maybe it's something to do with Facebook itself; I'm having the same problem and changing network connection has no effect.
Same problem with the latest official 2.3 fireware. Apps like flow work fine.

As for the Facebook issue. .. Coincidence that it happened when 2.3 arrived in Kies?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Edit: full fb sync works. Looks like it wasnt a 2.3 issue.
Sam problem here after updating to 2.3.3 .. On froyo it all worked flawless but now can't get it to work, and it annoys me a lot because I like to see my facebook calendar in my phone's calendar it was really handy..
i moved to 2.3.4 and last few days i am having fb sync issue. today fb sync stopped again. i entered pass many times but each time error. after that settings > accounts and removed fb then add again, somehow it worked. strange...

I have noticed over the past week i haven't been getting Twitter notifications. When i looked on the app account settings it says "data sync disabled". I have removed both accounts but no luck.

The sync will come as disabled if your auto-sync is off. Switch auto-sync on and then try.
@tadas_max
sure you're entering right details ? Give other twitter apps a try ubersocial, tweetcaster, etc.

That was the problem, auto sync was off, however i have been getting Facebook notifications

Some apps require auto-sync to be switched on and some don't.

Make sure you're right about the password. **** ups happen to the best of us lol! especially on a touch screen.
That's VERY weird. Tried restarting, flashing roms, factory reset?

I can login using stock browser, so I guess password is not the issue. I am on stock, non rooted phone. Tried restarts, clearing data etc. I guess the only sollution would be factory reset, but ill wait for JB ota, since I do factory resets after each ota
It was working perfect all the time. But one day I started the Twitter app and it said "cannot retrieve post or something like that". After that I tried to remove twitter from my sync account, cleared data, restart phone. Tried to re add Twitter account but when I enter the login info it says "error occurred...try again later"

Problem solved. I can login again. The problem was that in time and date settings I needed to select automatic settings. Weird

Hi Guys,
Anybody have any idea regarding removing of backedup settings from the Google account that was linked with the an android phone. I have a gmail account that i used for backing up with my HTC Wildfire S. I have installed and uninstalled a couple of apps now and then. All of a sudden then , my phone started showing a white screen each and every time I played video files. At first I thought that my phone's display got damaged but then I found that this happens only when I play videos. Also, it couldn't be an issue with the resolution of the video file because I have played those video files previously and it worked without any issues at that time.
Later , I Factory reset my phone thinking that it might help. :silly: Well Alas , I was able to play that same video after I reset the device. But , when i configured my gmail account to the phone, the same issue happened again. .. I tried the same scenario again and again and the result was the same. Hence , I concluded that the issue is related to gmail restoring some settings that was backed up from before
Since this is the mail id that I use for most of the communication I can't dump this gmail id. Is there any way such that I can remove the backedup settings from this gmail id? So that the next time I configure the same ID , this issue won't happen again.
1. Wrong section.
2. If you're using stock like me, go in privacy settings and uncheck backup my data and restore app data. I guess that should help.
