You can't add widgets if I remember correctly. You can only add app shortcuts. To edit, go to Personalize>Lock screen>Settings>Lock screen shortcuts.

it doesnt have this option under personalize. there is no lockscreen option. i knew this when i flash this rom. its written in that thread. i wonder if i can flash something or by changing the apk in the data section of the phone with another apk. i should post this in the roms thread but i can t post in development section yet. it says something about a certain number of posts

[Q][SOLVED] Lockscreen mod?

Any way to mod your lockscreen similar to this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919121
I dont want an app or to use Widget Locker ( i hate that app btw ), I just want a better lockscreen than the sliding one. I prefer the HTC Sense, or at least the rotary one. I am running CM7
Not sure if it's no longer available in CM7, but in CM6 you can set the rotary lockscreen in CM Settings->Input Settings. You can also remove the lockscreen sliders and use gestures instead.
those are standard in cm7, settings/cyanogenmod settings/input settings

Launcher customization

Hi,
Anyone know how far we can customize the 5 icons at the bottom of the home launcher?
I saw in one video that we can replace the apps there.
But, is it possible to only change the icon?
With current LauncherPro, I changed all those 5 icons into "text only", which is nice
So, wondering if we can do the same with the stock ICS launcher!
Ummm... The phone is not our yet.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
no, there is no plain text option.
you can replace the 4 apps, but not the middle settings button. you can put folders (groups of apps) in the 4 spots as well. and re-arange the order in the folders. the 1st program in the folder has the top icon displayed first.
Well, I did not mean "plain text", but changing the icon of the apps in that bottom bar.
Only the icon ...
If this is not possible, is there any way to achieve this?
Like, creating an app with custom icon to launch other app

There is an app on the market to change an applications icon but I don't know how well it works or how it would work with the nexus.
Stock Android Launchers do not have the facility to do what you are asking.
Mark.
Use desktop visualizer from the market
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
i dare say that once the source is released someone will customise the ICS launcher like GO, LPP, ADW etc have done with current stock android launcher (I hope)
Unless the launcher dock allows widgets on it which I doubt many if these apps that you can change icons with won't work. They create a widget on your homescreen that is a shortcut to that app. this is why you find these apps in the widget section when adding them to your homescreen

I was wondering this too.. it seems like something along the lines of Better Cut would work. It makes a shortcut on your desktop to the app using a custom icon... I would think you could then drag that onto the quick launch bar.
Yupe, I really really hope so this will work.
I don't like to have multi colored icons down there!

I can confirm that Desktop Visualizer works with the GN launcher. For the 1x1 icons you can even drag them on top of each other to make folders just like you can normally on ICS. You can also drag them onto the bottom launch bar.
EDIT: Testing it further, it seems that ANY 1x1 widget acts like an icon. You can put them in folders or put them in the dock bar. Sweet!
EDIT again: Agh. My bad. Looks like only some 1x1 widgets can do that. Others can't. Still not sure how it's determined which ones can and which ones can't.
Nice!
What do you mean with "cant" for some of the 1x1 icon?
How do you describe that "cant"? Simply cannot be dragged?
Please if you can give us some examples which dont work.
Thanks

Basically there seem to be two types of 1x1 widgets. One of them is "icon-sized", such as the native bookmark and direct-dial widgets and also the 1x1 icon that Desktop Visualizer makes. These can be stacked into folders just like you can with a regular icon.
The second type seems to be a 1x1 widget that takes up the whole tile space. (An icon takes only a part of the tile space and these rest of the space is used for the label.) These include things such as 1x1 clock widgets or another type of 1x1 widget that Desktop Visualizer also makes. You can drag them around the homescreen space like you can with any widget, but you can't stack them into folders or put them in the dock bar.
Hope that clarifies it.
Anyway I attached a screenshot of examples. The widgets are the left side are stackable/dockable and the ones on the right side aren't.
Thanks, that is ver clear.
And I saw in your screenshot that you have changed the docked apps to use text icons, nice ... Very nice.
Given the new high resolution screen, what is the resolution of those icons?
How did you make one?
If you are using Photoshop, please if you can share the PSD files
Thanks

I actually made the icons with an app called "Simple Text - Text icon creator" which you can find on the market. Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to share the style but it's pretty easy to figure out (or you can make something even better ).

[Q] How to remove the lock screen clock

Guys/Girls,
Is it possible to remove the clock and the operator name from the lock screen may be using any bird party software ? I am on rooted stock rom...
Tried searching but it doesn't go anywhere closer . .
Cheers
I'd want the lock clock as a widget.
To remove it.

I'd do a NANDROID before since they state that Sense isn't supported but you'll never know if it works on Sense 4.0.

According to the tutorial linked at the top:
"Your phone must NOT be running any HTC Sense based or other manufacturer ROM that replaces the default Android lock screen with its own version, as this hack will work only for ROMs with stock Android lock screen."
So I think that not so well...
He hasn't answered...
I knew him only for a short while and now he's.. he's...
BRICKED!!! WUEEEEEE!
Didn't work !!
Well, didn't work ...ran in to a bootloop for some reason and manage to restore everything again ..
I am using wpclock and want to have it on lockscreen as well ..looks ugly when the stock clock overlaps..
Re-Opend.
Hay gents.
Sorry for the late reply but found a way..
Go to setting then lockscreen then enable custom widget.
1st. Download zooper widget, then create a random thing, like a box, change the color to transparent and save it as lockscreen.
(DO not forget to change the tap setting to disable, (widget on tap action))
2nd. Go to lockscreen and then tap on the clock and drag down this will the enable widget mode. just tap and hold on the normal clock till its hanging and then drop in the trash!
(You have to add a widget for the stock clock to stay in the trash.)
So add you 100% transparent zooper widget that will do nothing when you tap on it and that's it...:good:

Lock Screen shortcuts disappear every now and then

Ok, like the title suggests. The Lock screen shortcuts for Phone/Email/SMS and camera disappear every once in a while. They are still enabled in the settings menu.
It happened once before, i rebooted and they came back. But now the shortcuts are gone, and I dont know how to get them back :O
Anyone with similar problem?

Hi!
I'm having the same problem: at random times icons dissapear. Sometimes lock screen with shortcuts gets replaced with lock screen with weather!
Does anyone know, that can one change lockscreen style on One V? And what makes lockscreen change like that?
thanks in advance
Ok I seem to have figured it out. In my case atleast, if I remove the clock widget which comes out of the box, the shortcuts disappear.
I had a great wallpaper and the clock was blocking the entire thing so I removed it, and with that the shortcuts disappeared. I have treied it 4-5 times now and everytime I remove the clock shortcuts disappear.
Now there might be other reasons for others problems, It might be totally random but for me so far it seems like its cos of the clock being removed. Weird.

I found the solution for weather lock screen- it seems that somewhere in the settings you can choose to show weather lockscreen as the first lockscreen of the day
In case it disappears, remove one icon from the dock bar and add it again.. And bam, the lockscreen shortcuts are back!!!!

You don't have to be a farmer to know what sh*t smells like.
Are you using HTC Sense as a launcher? The shortcuts on the lock screen assume that you have the bar in the bottom of the screen that comes with HTC Sense. If you switch launcher, the shortcuts will only be there momentarily.
Not Worked for me
My lockscreen icons are gone.. also none of lockscreen styles work....

[APP][SENSE 3.6/4/4A/4.5][2013/1/1 1.43]HTC Lockscreen Shortcut Provider

This is my second Android app. I develop this little app because I prefer 3rd party launcher (e.g. Apex) than existing Sense 4 Rosie. Existing hacked Sense 4 Rosie (full version) currently doesn't support non Sense widget correctly and is less feature-rich than many other launchers.
Even if you install a 3rd party launcher, Rosie still consume your precious memory as a system service. But if you freeze Rosie and thus release it from memory, you'll lose your lockscreen app shortcuts. After painstakingly reviewing the codes in HTC shortcut components, I found that Rosie actually act as a content provider to supply information of its launcher bar shortcuts to lockscreen. So without Rosie, lockscreen has no information to construct its shortcuts. Therefore I wrote this little app to replace the role of Rosie as the content provider. What's more, it allows you to select your own apps with a simple config screen and store the data separately. And it doesn't stay in the memory permanently.
Installation instructions:
Uninstall Rosie (Freezing doesn't work because Android doesn't allow two content providers of same type) ** You're reminded to make a backup first **
Install HTC Lockscreen Shortcut Provider
Run Lockscreen Shortcuts
Select your app for the 4 shortcuts
Hit back to save settings and notify HTC lockscreen
MD5: 7DE3FFB948E496767E2B1EFDAC26638E
** Currently this app has been tested to work with Sense 3.6, 4, 4A and 4.5 **
Change log
1.43
- Return shortcut title with empty space instead of NULL values if Hide app titles is selected
1.42
- Send broadcast notification to lockscreen on phone boot (should fix shortcut not showing issue after a reboot for TrickDroid)
1.41
- New option to hide app title
1.4
- Add support for Sense 4.5 (thanks Patrics83 for testing new version and support!). You MUST uninstall any previous version first.
1.3
- Add support for Sense 4A
1.2.1
- Fixed FC when loading installed apps
1.2
- Add support for Sense 3.6
1.1
- Added broadcast message to HTC lockscreen so no reboot is needed!

I'm not sure. But is Sense 4.1 still using the app shortcuts in Rosie launcher bar for lockscreen shortcut? If yes, then I guess it probably works too.
The easiest way to find out is of course to give it a try.
This is good for desensed roms I'm guessing.

Absolutely, but I need to confirm if it works on your device too.
awesome app..very useful..!
Interesting app. I leave the Rosie launcher running though anyway because it also feeds the lockscreen widgets and message counts... Does this act as a content provider for those things as well, or just the icons?

I previously tried using other lockscreen widgets (weather and people) without Rosie and it seems to work fine. So I believe they don't rely on Rosie at all.
But I'm not sure about email or message count.
I'm thinking of the Social Lockscreen in particular. It gets its updates from the social widget in Rosie. And then of course email count comes from the email widgets in Rosie.

Actually I still think most if not all lockscreen widgets should work. Even without Rosie, we're practically still using a Sense ROM. Lockscreen shortcuts is a rare exception since HTC decided to reuse the Rosie launcher bar app shortcuts. I remember in earlier Sense, it actually allows you to define them separately.
So why don't you try and let us know?
It works. I am using productivity lock screen and everything is working. Running VenomXL rom.

This is probably going to be my favorite app as the only reason I leave Rosie installed is for the shortcuts but sadly, this doesn't work on my 2.33 based ROM(Sense 4.1) What exactly do you need to make it work for that ROM? Logcat, Rosie.apk, etc?

OMG, you guys already have Sense 4.1 ROM! I can take a look at the problem if you can give me:
Rosie.apk
idlescreen_Base.apk
com.htc.resources.apk
BTW, what's the name of that ROM? And can you describe the problem so that I can have a better idea where to look.
I'm running my yet to be released ROM. The problem is that even though it says it notified the lockscreen, no shortcuts ever appear even after rebooting. And please add a apply or done button to the app because the first time I used it, I didn't know that backing out of the app was the way to set the shortcuts
And here are the files you requested
http://www.mediafire.com/?g715n7kwut1rv6z
Today I did some testing on various Sense versions and would like to let you know my findings:
Hybrid 4A (e.g. UKB X on IncS) - OK
Sense 4.1 (e.g. ViperX on One X) - OK
Sense 4A (e.g. UKB V on IncS) - No shortcuts in lockscreen
Sense 3.6 (e.g. ARHD on IncS) - Lockscreen shortcuts appears and update correctly but shortcut app cannot be launched when unlock
At this moment, my first priority is to support Sense 3.6. After that I'll work on 4A.
