[Q] Gingerbangvanilla Customizations

I just installed Gingerbangvanilla 1.7 and I like it, but I was wondering if there was any way to customize the launcher, i.e. disable home screen looping, edit number of home screens, change lock screen. I came from the Fascinate and loved TSM on it but was hoping for "TSM Parts"

Go get ROM manager and tsm pool party is in there. Its a direct port from pool party on the fascinate if I'm not mistaken.

tsm parts is kind of straight forward to port to samsung touchwiz phones, but is insanely difficult (at least for me) to make work on a sense rom
i *think* i might be able to get the status bar tweaks working on it...but lockscreens are more difficult as samsung already allowed for multiple lockscreens by default in touchwiz (glass, puzzle) so it was a lot simpler (still insane)
but my focus was to make stable roms off the latest ota and add various tweaks as i could...and i think the results have been good so far

yes, poolparty is an aosp port by omj of sbrissen's version on the fascinate...if you want tsm parts on this phone thats the way to go (awesome rom!)

Right now I'm using MIUI and I'm loving it. You can get tons of different themes and lockscreens. And if you don't like the iPhone like launcher, download a different one like go launcher ex. My personal favorite. I'm using the stock MIUI launcher.

I love the stability of this ROM so I'll deal with the lockscreen and I installed GO Launcher EX. My main problem with AOSP ROMs is the mail app has a problem with Hotmail so this will work for now.

I will take a shot at rotary lockscreen as well as status bar customizations in a week or so....have some work to do on the fascinate this week

Cool, rotary is actually my fav.

Any chance for a 3.0 style or a ripple lock(Honeycomb) style lockscreen Mod?? I love GingerbangVanilla either way.....

sense 3.0 lockscreen (which is available by patch for gingerbangvivow) would require rosie to work correctly...well at least to edit/use properly...as personalize doesnt work with the sense launcher (you would be stuck with whatever settings/skins u had pre-flash
alternative lockscreens are extremely difficult in sense besides aosp (well super easy) and rotary (not easy but its in the framework already)...nothing is impossible of course...just beyond my scope of abilities

can i add widgets at the lockscreen of this rom? you know the icons you drag in the ring to start them faster

Personalization --> Lockscreen --> Settings --> Shortcuts. Or at least something like that.

You can't add widgets if I remember correctly. You can only add app shortcuts. To edit, go to Personalize>Lock screen>Settings>Lock screen shortcuts.

it doesnt have this option under personalize. there is no lockscreen option. i knew this when i flash this rom. its written in that thread. i wonder if i can flash something or by changing the apk in the data section of the phone with another apk. i should post this in the roms thread but i can t post in development section yet. it says something about a certain number of posts

But one thing I wish it had was lockscreen music controls like the ones in Cyanogenmod rom.
Is there any app or lockscreen I can install over the default one to get the controls?

i think its imposible. But you can install widget locker. With this program you can add a widget to your lockscree

Go Locker has music controls and a lockscreen you can customize. Its on the Play Store for the amazing price of FREE
You need to install Go Launcher to use it though (which I highly recommend)

I kind of prefer to stock launcher, is there no other way to do it other than getting something like widgerlocker or go launcher?

I tried widgetlocker. But it won't work for me. It doesn't replace my lockscreen it just adds to it. While I can get music controls, it makes it a pain in the ass to use. Once I slide the widget locker slider, my default unlock slider comes up, THEN my unlock pattern. So it's a real pain.

I tried Go Launcher, works great, but it's having the OPPOSITE problem of WidgetLocker, where it doesn't goto my unlock pattern screen at all, it just goes straight to my homescreen. I checked and my unlock pattern is still set to be used, Go Launcher just bypasses it.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Apex Launcher question

I've recently installed Apex Launcher on my N7 and am very pleased with the extreme customization options with the exception of one thing, its petty, but it bothers me.
With the Apex Launcher lock screen, there is no option to directly unlock to google now. Does anyone know of a workaround to make that happen?
I have looked all over the Apex options but cannot find any answer. Thanks

AFAIK, Apex Launcher does not have a custom lock screen It still uses the stock one, or whatever custom lockscreen you are using.
Maybe you have installed a custom one? Or are you using a ROM with a customizable lockscreen?

Lockscreen is part of the rom, look in your rom's lockscreen settings if you're on a rom with a customisable lockscreen eg. CM10, AOKP, CNA based roms

What are you talking about? Apex doesn't affect the lockscreen. I m on stock with apex n I can slide it up n unlock to Google just fine.

Instead of starting a new thread about apex launcher I hope I can borrow your thread.
I have a question about Apex and N7, on my other devices I can hide the statusbar, but not on N7.
It works fine with Nova, but it lacks some settings.
Can you all hide the statusbar with apex and Nexus 7?

Under behavior settings I have a swipe up gesture set to toggle status bar. Works. I swipe up and status bar shows. swipe up again and it hides.

Not sure if it would help, but somewhere under Apex's options is the ability to use Beta updates instead of Stable. The latest Beta updates were re-build with Jellybean launcher standards instead, which may help with things I guess.

[Q] How to change AOSP Lockscreen shortcuts?

I'm using MacksRom and it has an option of choosing AOSP lock screen, which I really like. The problem is that the shortcuts in the AOSP lock screen can't be changed, unlike the stock lock screen. I can't change, for example, the "Message" shortcut to, say, "Gmail". Anyone know how? Thanks!

Thanks! I love your ROM. Can't wait to upgrade to 3.5. Back to my question, is this the case with AOSP lockscreen on any ROM, or just on yours?
