When I try to put cyanogenmod 7.1 on my phone, it works fine. However when i restart my phone it then gets stuck on the white htc screen. Does anyone know why this happens? It happened when i tried to flash cyanogen 7.0.3 ages ago aswell.
Also when i restore to stock, it works fine. It's jsut when I flash a custom rom that it can't reboot.
I've not done S-OFF yet but I have the latest radio.
Data incompatibility? Assume you're wiping before flash but once flashed what exactly and how are you restoring?

I'm restoring in the recovery using the backup I made before i flashed a custom rom.
Whatas data incompatability? Does that basically mean I can't use any custom roms?
same problem!on htc desire s-off & root..i just can't flash any newer custom rom..the only one I can flash is the acesmod007 v40..when i tried to update to v41 i get stuck in the white boot screen with green htc logo..

did every wipe possible..maybe a boot problem?should i format boot partition too?
#facepalm#
Full wipe means:
- format boot
- format data
- format system
- format cache
- format sd-ext (if available)
every time, before flashing, i do all wipes and then every format (except sd)..yesterday i've flashed cyanogen 7.1.0 with stock hboot, i rebooted in fastboot, the pm99img.zip with cm7r2 hboot update, i reboot..white screen with green htc logo & after a while a light blue droid on a white skate appears..but get stucked in the left side of the screen..any idea?

Hi,
I am not new at flashing and modding but got stucked and need some expert help
Here is what I have done:
1. had hboot cm7r2 and Runnymede AIO ROM - Working great but decided to sell Desire
2. Changed HBOOT to Alfarev Sense, partitioned to ext3
3. Installed Leedroid 3.0.8. Sense ROM
4. Rebooted - after that can not go further than boot screen
I repeated procedure few time but still on boot screen
Any ideas ?!
Why don't you try the STOCK partition table because it has a bigger system partition size
Probably the best choice for you would be to restore stock HTC rom.
Just sayin...

did you format all partitions? aligned ext3?
Sounds like you did not wipe cache after changing Hboot and did not wipe anything when changing Rom. If you did that, the Leedroid Rom does not fit into Sense Hboot, so you have to change to Stock Hboot:
Wipe everything, flash hboot (do not forget to reboot bootloader and wipe cache afterwards) and then flash ROM again.

Hi, thanks for reading..
I have a htc wildfire phone.
I S-Off-ed it with revolutionary, and also flashed Clockwork 3.0.0.6 on it.
Than I wiped cache (darvik also) and system , and tried to install cym 7 from [install zip from sd card]
as progress goes through, phone freezes or restarts and only green HTC logo appears on the screen, without sound and message (quietly brilliant).
It happens on all rom-s i've tried, nightly ones and cym 6.0 also.
Could you please help me to fix my phone?
Did you do a full wipe?
If you just wipe the cache partitions, the ROM will bootloop.

He means data, dalvik cache and cache. Do those three wipes and reinstall the zip.

Thanks guys for replay.
I wiped data, dalvik cache and cache.
Than reinstalled zip (cym 6.0), the progress bar went nearly complete, than it freezed, rebooted and booted into clockwork directly.
than i clicked on [reboot system now], it rebooted and is freezed on HTC green logo without animation and sound.
Can i do anything else? or can I install htc sense rom again? (note that I had a backup and when I click a restore, it does restore but still freezes in middle process and no effect is given on phone)
Most Sense ROMs will require a 2.5 recovery. (Use the .zip I attached, it'll give you a temporary recovery once you flash it).
I know that Rempuzzle doesn't require 2.5 recovery tho. Have you tried re-installing the CM7 .zip? or re-downloading and re-installing?
Yesterday, I had exactly the same problem like you. The problem was something with the recovery system. I flashed it again and since then, it works.
ok guys,
I've updated clockwork with update.zip, it appeared blue clockwork 2.5, I wiped everything and started installation over. no ROMs worked (cym 7, cym 6, and latest nightly cyms, HCDR.ROM also).
I think downgrading on 2.5 is kind of reflash too. note that when I reboot recovery it is still orange 3.0.0.6 then until I update it again with update1.zip
Still no result, please help if you have any more ideas.
Flash a complete new recovery, for example with the PC49IMG.zip method..
Clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.0 has the blue text.
Clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.7 which you need to flash older roms has green text.
The Orange one is clockwork 3.x.x.x which atm is your main recovery installed in the phone, the update zip gives a temporary recovery which will disappear after rebooting, I'm not quite sure where your going wrong but just try this if you have a cm7 Rom on your SD card.
Power off the phone and then boot into recovery, volume down and power to get hboot and then select recovery, (sorry for the noob instructions, I just want to make sure your doing it correctly) when the Orange clockwork loads up first select wipe data/factory reset and then wipe cache, after that scroll down to advanced and select wipe dalvik cache from in that menu, then go back and choose install from zip/choose zip find your cm7 Rom and select it after its done its thing reboot from main menu.
Cm7 should install fine from clockwork 3.x+ and then if you want to install an older rom like cm6 open Rom manager flash clockwork 2.5.0.7 (also temporary) and reboot into it then do the same wipes and flash cm6.

Just saying that will probably confuse the guy even more, try explaining what PC49IMG is? Or at least give him a link to where he can find it.

guys, I did PC49IMG.zip method too. I mean I wrote this file on sd card and than in fastreboot i clicked volume up (update). it has done everything.
I do cym7 installation exactly with your (nooby) instruction. thing is that when installation process goes, it is not finnishing, its freezing or rebooting phone and then not booting exept green HTC logo.
I think this is unique case in this forum. so no more ideas I guess.

Ahh.... so you're not that much of a noob then, my apologies.
Look here at the second post, try to update clockwork to the latest 5.0.2.0 then try again.

Hello,
After getting into recovery I do wipe the /cache partition before flashing a new rom.
I use the HTC Desire HD and I've tried both Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 and Beatmod 6.2 and none of them get through the splash screen. They just load on the splash screen repeatedly.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I do only wipe the /cache partionen before flashing. NO other partition. I do also get into the Clockwork Mod Recovery.
I did the Revolutionary Rom to work after flashing it, still don't know why the others don't work.
If you are going to a different based rom you have to do a full wipe. That includes data, system, cache, and dalvik
It works now.
Thanks!
hi
Coming from MildWild CM 3.9, I just tried to flash BCM ICS RC3.1U0 full rom.
Aroma installer asked to switch hboot to data++. So I did (before I had cm7r2).
Then flashing worked succesfully!
After rebooting from 4EXT to try out the newly installed rom I only got Black Screen and no bootup animation. Waited for more than 10minutes but nothing happened.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? Any Ideas why and how to solve?
thanks
also did full wipe and cleared dalvik
Sometimes we need to wait longer after reflashing...

i got the same problem, so i tried to flash RC3.0update0 and it worked. after flashing RC3.0U0, i updated to RC3.1 & everything works fine
ok I'll try
thanks in advance
Download the rom again and try to re-flash; maybe you have a corrupted rom file!

I dont think so, because aroma says everything successfull and there were no errors.
maybe the issue is due to changing hboot. I flashed the pb99img.zip via bootloader. this was also succesful because after that bootloader says hboot data++ (instead of cm7r2 previously). is this enough or do i have to do something else
Have you tried to do a full wipe again using "wipe | format -> format all partitions" and do a fresh install?
Wich option did you set for m2sd?

i switched from cm7r2 hboot to data++, just like you and faced the same problem. but flashing a previous rom-version fixed it.

I wiped before hboot flash. cant remember if I also did after, but I choose the additional erase and format settings in aroma.
I used all the default settings regarding m2sd, launcher etc (didnt choose costumize in aroma)
Can you try to flash the rom using the custom method?
I've installed latest BCM few hours ago with:
Apex
Stock Browser
Play Store
Mount2SD
In M2SD config: Apps, Cache, Ext4, 768
Try this settings and report.
Edit: Use the Readahead for your SD, obiously
Hi ,
I installed CWM and I took the backup of the stock rom.
then flashed with new boot.img and installed MIUI rom, this is working fine.
I did wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and Wipe Dalvik Cache. after that I restored stock rom using CWM, restore went fine.
when I reboot phone stuck in boot loop with htc logo.
did I miss something while restoring ????

If your phone is not S-Off then restore can't update boot partition and you have to flash old boot.img manually.
The same way as you did when installing MIUI rom but different kernel image (boot.img compatible with stock rom).

My Phone has s-on....
I will find the stock rom supported kernel and flash before restoring the stock rom.
or
I will try to make s-off and restore.
either of one would be fine rite?
thanks:good:

Yes, either should be fine., but the first method is much more easier I guess.

And you may flash the right kernel even after restoring or flashing a rom.
