There seems to be a problem with video in a browser. I can hear the sound, but I cannot see the video. Is true in Dolphin HD and stock browser.
In Firefox I can't seem to get Flash working at all. It doesn't allow me to download a plugin, as it doesn't recognize the environment.

Thanks for the link. But I can't find any of the mentioned files. Did a general search for "macromedia" for instance and nothing showed up.
EDIT: I realized I did not use Root Explorer but a regular file manager. With Root Explorer I did find the files and was able to fix it for the Dolphin browser and the stock browser. Flash still doesn't work for Firefox, but I believe Firefox Mobile on Android can't handle Flash (only HTML5). By the way, I am using the latest Flash: 11.0
Have you installed Flash 10.2? I had to do that to be able to access the files that are needed to set the permissions. Before I installed Flash, I didn't have the Macromedia folder either.
I've attached 10.2, if you need it.
Edit: --------------------------------------------------------
Not sure if Flash 11.0 is compatible with CM7 yet. 10.2 was the last version that would work with CM7.

I had full flash running on 2.1, but now that I'm using ava's froyo rom, flash doesn't seem to be working. Any sites with flash usually crash the default browser and on dolphin HD if I click the green arrow button for flash it crashes again. I tried uninstalling Flash through Titanium, which was successful, but now anytime I try to reinstall it I get the "application not installed" error. Does anyone have a confirmed working apk or a fix? Any help is appreciated

I'm having the same problem too. I tried downloading and installing the apk but it just tells me that it fails to install and I can't find a way to remove flash 10.1 from my evo. Any other suggestions?

there's a link to the evo flash 10.1 apk on post 156 in the Ava thread which I found by searching, btw . Have you tried using TB to uninstall your existing flash? It's under a for adobe and not f for flash if you were having trouble finding it.

see my prev post for a working flash apk
just wanted to give an update. Used Titanium Backup to remove adobe flash but instead of installing the apk posted here, I used dolphin HD to go to a flash based website and when I clicked on the green arrow it took me to the market to download flash 10.1 beta 3. I had tried installing the apk but it kept telling me it failed, but that was not the case with the market download. Everything works now and I didn't need to reset like other posts say
here ya go
Here is the 2.2.11 market.
Install with ADB, the command are:
adb remount
adb push (download location)/Vending.apk /system/app/Vending.apk

Use the Vending.apk for gingerbread, and the vending2.2.11-signed.apk for froyo.

Update:
Thanks to Powers88, c3k, kellinwood, and phrozen87 we can install this on froyo!
AWESOME!!
Works flawlessly, here! +1
Nice find but FC's for me on cm 6.1.1

I found this app on another forum site. It seems to work better than 2.2.7 for me, and it got rid of a bug I was experiencing where sometimes an app would fail to download until the second or third try.
I don't know where it was taken from so I cannot 100% verify its integrity, but I use it with no problems.
Install with ADB, the command are:

It`s included in the latest CM7 Gingerbread gapps
from here:

Can you flash the Gingerbread version of gapps on CM 6.1.1? I tried installing this newest Market version, and it constantly FCs on me. I tried installing it via Root Explorer and adb... neither worked.
Found the original article here: SOURCE.
You can download the .apk there and also there's a .zip file you can download there if you want to flash from recovery.

I am running CM 6.1.1 and can't get any new markets to work. I currently have version 1.8.2 and have tried 2.2.6, 2.2.7, .10, and .11. I have tried flashing via recovery, pushing via ADB and even tried Root Explorer. Every time I get a force close. Could anyone shed some light onto something I'm missing?
Thanks in advance!

here's how i've upgrade from 1.8.2 to 2.2.11 on cm 6.1.1 on n1:
- downloaded "zipsigner" (from market, of course)
- select the new market apk (the one that didn't install and fc if flashed througt zip file)
- select "platform" as key/mode
- sign the file
the result apk can be finally installed (no flash, just launch)
all the credits goes to phrozen87 and to kellinwood (zipsigner author)

I'm running MikFroYo 4.4 with stock kernal. Whenever I try to get the hulu app to work, it tells me that hulu is not supported on my device.
I've tried to search the threads but I haven't been able to find anything that works. Do you guys have any ideas? Any advice would be appreciated!
You need a modded Adobe flash. Basically it is hex edited to look like a pc. Hulu does not allow mobile devices.
If you go to Myns rom topic, then look under his addons, you will find the zip for the modded Adobe flash. Just flash it through recovery and your set. I don't know if it is compatible with mik or not, tho.
Edit: did you happen to download the newest Adobe flash from the market? It will automatically replace the modded flash, reverting it to look like a mobile device.

Ah, I did update flash.....Alright, I'll try this out. Thanks so much for taking the time!
No problem. I did find the modded flash crashed my browser a lot more when viewing any flash enabled pages vs the updated flash in the market, though. But I'm on Myns Rom, so it may work out better for you. I ended up just giving up on hulu lol.
This is by far the best way to get Hulu working. I tried all kinds of threads but this one works and was easy. Somewhere in the thread it talks about changeing a setting in the web browser. I have watched a couple shows so far in the web browser works great.

POST 170:
"To make it easier, all you need to do is download Adobe Flash Player 10.1.106.16 from market and replace the /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/libflashplayer.so which is AND 10,1,106,16 hex edited to look like WIN 10,1,102,64 for HULU.
1) Extract libflashplayer.so to sdcard
2) Copy libflashplayer.so from sdcard to /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib using root explorer and make sure the permissions for libflashplayer.so is rwxr-xr-x or chmod 755 the file."
The newest version of MikFroYo will also fix it
Hi all,
I recently installed the Xposed module MinMinGuard, which is supposed to help remove ads in the browser, and even the "white space" that is where the ad was before it was blocked.
I activated and used it for a bit and enabled on all my apps, however after deciding to discontinue use and uninstalling, there's blank space at the top of many websites now that sticks on the page even when scrolling. It only goes away if I hit Menu, but returns on the next website I visit.
I've included 2 screenshots to show the space.
I tried tweaking / reinstalling / etc. MinMinGuard a few times, but it doesn't fix the issue.
TB only has 1 backup of the browser, and it's from after I installed the module. Is there any way to re-install the stock browser from another source? Stock rom or something?
I have tried to clear data / cache on the browser to no avail.
**EDIT #2: I might be completely wrong about this having to do with MinMinGuard.
Apparently if you have any app enabled in accessibility settings and quick controls on it will happen. I have Tasker enabled in accessibility, and just recently enabled it..
**EDIT #3: That fixed it! Disabled Tasker in accessibility settings and all is back to normal. Guess it's some weird bug in android that hasn't been fixed and has existed since 4.2.2.
could try restoring from nandroid backup if you have one. or go on line and look for stock browser apk download (?)
err on the side of kindness
Not sure if this would work but you could try deleting the stock browser apk from the system folder and re-installing the stock browser.

But how would I re-install after deleting the apk?
If you are rooted, you could find the relevant Browser under /system/apps and delete the apk. I use Root Explorer to delete system files.
You could find a stock-based browser such as srx, unzip it, find the Browser apk, copy it to your SDcard, open root explorer, find the Browser, and open the file to install it.
Have you tried installing other browsers such as Chrome or Dolphin? Do these browsers exhibit the same behaviour?
I have a feeling its not going to be an issue with the browser app itself. Xposed probably did something in CSC and/or possibly elsewhere.
I think the easiest solution will be to reflash your current rom or firmware.
I could be wrong though, so you may wish to try replacing the browser apk. Something else that may be worth trying would be to wipe dalvik cache from recovery.

I tested on Dolphin and it's unaffected. What's srx? Couldn't find that on Play.

Other browsers are not affected so I'm hoping I don't have to re-flash. I downloaded the stock NE4 rom and was planning on extracting the secbrowser.apk (or whatever it's named) from the rom and then installing it that way, but for some reason, there is no browser apk in the stock rom zip, which is baffling to me.
Wiping dalvik had no effect.

Stock Samsung firmware is packed differently from custom ROMs and this is why you don't see any apk files. SRX is a custom ROM.

It may be called something else. In many custom ROMs, it's called browser.apk. Maybe Samsung or ATT renamed it.
Use Root Explorer and look in the system/app folder. The browser icon should appear next to the apk name.

Question - I'm on the stock rom (which installed via the NE4 firmware upgrade). I debloated it myself via TB.
If nothing else works, could I install the stock odexed / rooted NE4 rom in the development section over this? And if so, would I:
1) Need to wipe system beforehand (I would wipe cache / dalvik)
2) Would my disabled / debloated apps stay disabled / debloated? (for instance, I froze TouchWiz launcher in TB and use Nova).

Found it - secbrowser.apk - dunno why my keyword search didn't work before.
Anyway I uninstalled the browser and re-installed via Root Explorer from the stock rom. Also reverted changes in my CSC directory just in case.
No go - same problem exists. MinMinGuard must have modified something elsewhere. Damn.
**EDIT: Learned something about the issue. The blank space appears when I enter in a URL in the navigation bar and press enter to load it. Then the blank space appears on whatever page I have loaded. If I press Menu to show / hide the navigation bar, then the blank space goes away until I enter in another website.
It appears to have to do with the navigation bar - it's like the navigation bar disappears, but a black space takes it's place instead of shrinking / disappearing from view as I scroll down the page (note: I have the quick-controls enabled). When disabling quick-controls the problem ceases, but resumes upon re-enabling.
**EDIT #2: I might be completely wrong about this having to do with MinMinGuard. Found the issue elsewhere:

Hey,
After I completely wiped my phone, I installed twrp (latest version) through adb, everything is fine with the recovery so I proceed to flash the latest nightly (find7s) and gapps mini. So far so good, everything seems to be working and I can install my apps, but some apps don't seem to work.. for example Snapchat crashes and says "unfortunately an app stopped running" so I figure I'll just wait till I can install the latest nighly on my phone and see if anything changes, but the problem is the latest nightlies won't install, it fails everytime. Next problem is that I can't get into the files of my phone on my pc either, the find7 shows up but it's an empty map, usb debugging is enabled and I swiped down for selecting MTP but nothing happens and still can't get into my files. So I can't install latest nightlies on my phone, nor my pc. Anyone has a solution for my problems??
Thanks!
Could the partitioning be messed up after installing TWRP and flashing the ROM?
no idea.. best to wipe and flash again then?
edit: after the wipe and flash everything seems to be running fine!
It's best to come from ColorOS with merged storage and use a compatible recovery and ROM.
ColorOS is kind of like Microsoft Internet Explorer.
The biggest use for IE is to download a different browser.
best use of ColorOS is to set up for a custom ROM.

Apparently, I came from CM12.1 and just wiped everything. Can I still use the unified partition zip or does CM13 not support this (yet)?
I have not tried CM on the Find 7 after seeing plenty of issues reported.
I went OmniROM and have not strayed yet. It works. Less bugs than Oppo's own OS versions.
