this phone is amazing

I'm glad I held out for this phone, now the wife wants one. That could be a good thing

My GF wanted an iPhone. Why do I get the urge to vomit everytime I say or type iPhone? Anyways the pressure was on to get the perfect Androids for us. The Eris experiment was a failure for her and soured her on Android big time. She then brought an old Blackberry back into service and was miserable with it. I faired better but missed out on sharing the Android experience with her. We both got the Galaxy Nexus and couldnt be happier. This phone is damn good. The software is even better.

Glad to see people enjoying the phone instead of them *****ing when they really don't understand what they're doing.

Why do you? the iPhone is a great phone. Not open like android but the software is very optimized and polished. Senseless apple hate just pisses me off.
On topic: I love my verizon galaxy nexus as well. Battery life is only decent on the stock battery but I ordered the extended battery to make up for that. 4G speeds in my are are faster than my verizon fios internet (26mbps down on 4G vs 20mbps down cap on my fios internet), and the screen is awesome.

Best solution, get Nexus and iPod touch. Now you have the best phone and if you want anything that an iphone can do just tether! only thing you cant do is call or txt on ipod touch.

Ive owned every Nexus devices and have switched carrier to carrier trying to find the perfect network-to-Nexus collaboration, haha. Ive finally returned to Verizon with a Nexus in hand and i honestly couldnt be happier.

I listened to the die hard sg2 owners and got one. Then returned and exchanged it for the GN. WOW so frigging happy I am so much happier with this phone but the sg2 is a really awesome phone too but I like this phone so much more!!!

Nothing wrong with the Iphone. I had one and loved it but once I tried Android it was over. Who knows? Maybe one day Apple will come up with something to get me back. I doubt it though.

I have to say I absolutely loved my SII but this one is just fine and the difference between Sprint and Verizon, well, see above. lol

No such thing as senseless apple hate, it is all justified.
Got I love my GN! Only have the GSM model yet still get around 7Mbps download rates, with unlimited bandwidth. Really can't see how I'd need the LTE version with that performance already (from UK, LTE is unavailable here for a couple of years it seems). Nothing beats being able to torrent **** with good down rates while on the move.
Software keeps getting better, 4.0.2 has seen dramatic increase in battery life, with new updates coming thick and fast. My girlfriend has an iPhone 4 and constantly nags to use my phone to browse and shop. I can see why, after using this phone for a few weeks now, the iPhone seems totally ****ing tiny and ****!
I'm sure mobile games manufacturers will soon be moving off the iPhone bandwagon with its uncompetitive hardware and the consistently increasing market share of high end android phones. Which will be the last of the iPhones advantages gone. Not to mention Google working on a Siri stomper, which I have plenty of faith in them doing, and doing well.

Some people just don't care about all that stuff. They just want the thing their friends have, or the phone that everyone has. Ohh the Iphone has 3G, a 3 inch screen, and everytime I plug it up to my computer iTunes freaks out and a million pop ups appear. Yeah it looks great, I'll take 3 of them..... But its their lost. I love my MacBook though. The Lion OSX makes Windows OS look like ****. Well any OS makes Windows OS look like ****. Definitely just went on a 3AM rant.... Well goodnight!

Yup, there you go folks that proves it all! iPhones are awesome because everyone has one! I am glad we got that settled.
Anyway, she got the HTC Rezound for Verizon. Believe it or not the screen is actually pretty beautiful on that thing. That device is what the EVO 3D should have been.
I would also be curious to see how many E4GT's sold just for Sprint.

My wife got an iPhone 4S the same time i got the samsung Epic Touch 4G and dont get me wrong. The iPhone is a nice device. But Siri sucks. I laughed at my wife yesterday. She tried using siri to navigate to walmart. It kept denying her. Lol. I opened up voice search and said the exact same thing my wife asked Siri and guess what. IT WORKED PERFECT. My wife was pissed. I told her Thats what you iSheep get. Come to find out siri is still beta testing. Lol. Thats something they fail to say on there iSuck Commerials. Lmao. God i love Android.

Coming from a Droid Incredible

I am coming to Sprint (and locked into the network) from a Verizon Droid Incredible. I loved the phone and I am sad to see it go, but Verizon doesn't do well in my new location. Sprint is the best and I am torn. The area also does not have 4g.
My entire family has gone with the 4s but I am on the fence. I love the openness of Android. I have an old Ipod touch 2g that has been used just for music since I got the Dinc.
Is this the phone to get or should I just get an Iphone?

E4GT is an amazing phone period even with it being a bit older then the 4S. Honestly if you do love Android (as you have one already) You will love the E4GT

Epic Touch for the win! The screen size is the best, compared to the tiny screensize of the iPhone. You'll get more out of this device than the iPhone.

I had this phone and decided I wanted to try the 4s. The 4s was a great phone but in the end I missed Android so much and I really missed the screen size of the Epic Touch so I went back to the Epic Touch. If you really love Android and your on Sprint the Epic Touch is hands down the best phone Sprint has to offer at the moment.

of the screen. of the android features. of the tethering. of the camera. but mostly of the screen, all of the iPhone folk that know nothing about the tech behind it or the possibilities that android gives you are Always jealous of the screen, because thats all they see, that's the only feature that matters to them that they can understand. Yeah...,the gs2 gets attention. Very very nice phone. If sprint is strong in your area I don't see you regretting it

Actually While I do love my android phones I don't have an issue telling someone they will like the iPhone more for what they are going to use it for. It's pretty simple if you like another phone use it if not stick with what you know. As it is there is a 14 day "period" of time he can use/try the iPhone 4S and if he does not like it return it and get the E4GT. Either way it's really up to him.

Lol. I be honest to. Everyone in my soho has either a flip/keyboard phone, or an Iphone and Everytime some one sees it they always are like wow.. I wish I would of got that phone.. And yes the main thing the focus on is the beautiful screen because that's he first thing they see, of course they always love the lockscreen also

I am still really torn. My mom got the iphone on my recommendation for its simplicity/intuitive UI. She isn't a power user. My dad got it because he needed a mac for his work education and really liked the iCloud. Is there any inkling on when the galaxy S3 will go on sale?

Samsung will not even talk about the SG3 period all anyone knows is "summer" and that's about it. And honestly that's not even saying much I will say this however even though the GS3 will have better specs then the GS2 the GS2 regardless is still a beast of a phone. Out of the box it stands against pretty much every single phone released right now including the GNexus. Like I've said in another post you do have a 14 day window you can test a phone out. Give both the iPhone and the GS2 a go and see which one YOU like more.

I find nothing appealing about the iPhone at all. My GF has a 4s, and I honestly cannot stand it. There's no way I could ever go from *any* android phone to an iPhone. Just looking at the iPhone 4s screen after using my E4GT makes it look like a pile of barf. Yeah, it has really high pixel density, but who cares when the screen is so small that your thumb can cover 6 buttons at once.

Apple is perfect position.

OK first off I'm not an apple fanboy or any fanboy for that matter I love tech and gadgets. Second it is a sad day for many people like me because I am tied to sprint for life probably mainly because of price and unlimited data. (That's not the sad part). So with that said I am tied to their phones and right now with the current phones and android it is a sad cluster f$%#. ICS is great just on its own but Sammy and HTC don't care. Updates come like whenever, maybe 8 months later to a year maybe never.
All future phones on sprint are a letdown at this point sg3, evo one, galaxy nexus is great but no lte. Android is just a hot mess I don't even know the point of pure Google of only 1 percent actually have it.

Google paved the way for apple to crush them because they have no standards. I have used android pretty intensely and its just all over the place. if you are running behind an the newest os by android then your an ass .all i care about is if the phone does what i want when i want it to! as for lte buy a laptop if you need to be online that much and you want it fast. dont get sucked in by lte craze,tes its fast btut if you spend that much time on your phones internet YOU NEED A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!

I don't quite see how android is a mess? Just because Samsung has touchwiz and HTC has Sense? You do realize that both companies do provide updates to their phones right? Yes, I realize the move from Froyo -> Gingerbread -> ICS isn't fast...but that's copmarable to IOS 3 -> 4 -> 5 (which is also about once a year). The minor updates in betweens are generally fixes for things, and a lot have been purely to patch exploits by jailbreakers which further locks the phone down. Officially our phones have recieved 2 updates, and we're waiting on the official 3rd to move to ICS.
The new iPhone will be a hit...because it is an iPhone, simple as that. The bigger size will attract some more people, but seeing how the 4S was a lackluster upgrade and it was Apple's top selling phone, crushing any android phone's sale. This next one will do the same. Personally, and I'm guessing for many on XDA who enjoy modding the crap out of their phones, iPhones aren't really an option...especially the way it is now making jailbreak exploits even harder to come by.

Ics has on screen buttons really not on Sammy and HTC phones.
How many versions of Android are there running now on phones.
Somebody makes a game or app works/tested on some phones not working for many but you can still buy it even though it doesn't work.

I think you're passing judgement on them before giving them a try. Their specs have been released, but you haven't held onto them yet. I don't think the next iPhone will be a mind blower either, it'll probably be similar to the specifications of the EVO LTE or SGSIII.
The SGS2 is definitely my kind of phone, the only thing I'll need is LTE when it comes to my area. We'll see how it goes.

my car uses gas but i can still buy diesel........people have pc's and buy games that they cant play on it because of hardware issues, just like phones, its YOUR responsibility to do a little research on if something can/will/properly run on your device.

Does anyone recognize your phone?

So i been a android user and for almost two years, my first phone was the Samsung moment on Sprint, rooted the phone still suck! Got me an evo 4g and was the best phone I ever had (came from bb and iPhone), alot people got to know the evo, but some people still asked me "is the a Droid?" verizon marketing did a lot for Android, move forward a few years anyone knows and iPhone or android, but no phone is famous at all, or at least that's what I thought, now I had my gs3 since launch day, and just in this past weeks, 5 people been able to recognize it, from walmart store, to grocery store and gas station (specially when you pay with nfc), so it looks like the galaxy s III brand is recognized and Samsung did a good job by putting the same phone on all carriers, makes me wonder has anyone else recognized your phone? And I'm not talking about tech people, just regular consumers?

Lmao funny thing I got a few friends that have iPhones and they want to trade it for my gs3,I had the 4s like it but I can't have it as my Daily driver I use for work tho, and I hate the small screen, the OS feels slow somehow, it does have more animations but it feels slow

I have nothing against Iphones, I had one and loved it. I just prefer androids now. The fan boys that I work with have just blind loyalty. 5-6 years ago Iphones were better...now, androids have made incredible improvements. They refuse to even listen, very close minded.
I'm with you...hate that small screen.

Why do most people just call it "droid" or "android"? It sounds really silly if you ask me and it's all because of verizon's marketing.

90% of apple owners don't wanna hear about android. People buy iphones just because its an iPhone. Its like shoes, people buy nikes because they are nikes if you get a Nike and put the sketchers logo on it, no ones going to want it. Truth is gs3 kicks the iPhones asssss. I think the gs2 kicked the iPhones ass.

For years I was a huge Nokia N series fan and bought euro unlocked phones with symbian, so I have always gotten the ”what kind of phone is that?" question... Around the time the original tmobile mytouch I switch to android and haven't looked back since. Bought a gs3 about 2 weeks ago and for the first time it's not "what phone is that" but "how do like that phone... I want one real bad". Personally I love tmo and love my gs3. Now iphone I have never liked but I get why it's huge... Great for what most people do with their phone but iphone may have been out played by the gs3 and could lose a healthy share of their market. Just my 2¢ though...

I finally ran into someone who had the exact same phone as me yesterday. We had a bit of fun with that. She said her battery life was pretty good. I disagreed, but then again I also have mine overclocked to 1.9Ghz.. So I'm happy
