2nd post.......

i saw that several days ago
and then the next day after that went live, endanget (whatever spelling) found out those results were faked
similar to the way how we can make Quadrant show faster than it's supposed to, on devices you know by heart can't make it to 6000 quadrant

Ditto. Quadrant is a pretty useless AP in my opinion.
I find it hard to believe that my Nook Color can score 2400 on Quadrant and some GS2s here are scoring 2700.....see the uselessness in that app?

sounded more like a marketing ploy to sell more iphones to people who already have them .thats why i love android so many flavors . albeit iphoney is a good OS its just so boring for my liking . i would like to see what the percentage of sales that they brag about is to new iphone users meaning coming from a different device

what exactly is a quadrant score

i have seen people posting quadrant score as signatures and after searching xda on what exactly is a quad score i could not find the answer.. anyway i downloaded the quad thing off market and done my own and my score is 1225.. thats real low compared to most i seen like between 1800-2816
It's a benchmark test, those on large numbers are on overclocked handsets (or they're just lying!!)
It's ego massaging so don't worry about it
ok i just wondered what it was thats all , as i have seen peeps signatures and seen screen shots of one phone saying 2816
great result last night .. or are you a blue
suarez liverpools number 7 wooooo
I'm a Gunner, I just live here
better than being a blue i suppose lol
With the apparent pending administration I'd say so!!

It is 2nd gen snapdragon CPU those who get that high scores. They pack quite a punch.
Anyway, quadrant is just some stupid, inconsistent benchmark which doesn't point out anything and especially not real life performance.
Just uninstall it and enjoy your phone, mate!

Why are my Quadrant tests getting around 1400??

Any idea? Most reviews i saw for the GNex shows it getting 1700-2000+.
Meaningless or not, i wanna know why it's so much less.
Wtf

I checked it right when I got the phone for the hell of it and got around the same number. The only thing I care about is if it will lag with daily use. If it doesn't I don't care if it has half a core and 1 byte of ram.
Quadrant scores are meaningless and don't give any indication of how the phone performs in real world use.
My old Galaxy S2 scored 4000+ in quadrant but does it feel 3 times faster than my Nexus definitely no!
Again, I don't care about what the test actually means but why are our scores so much lower on the same device compared to the reviews show? What is different and why? It leads me to believe that something is wrong.
I freaked too, but I think its bs. If you install System Monitor you can watch both CPU cores in action. Also, other bench tests clearly show that you're getting dual core performance. I think Quadrant will need an update.

I get around 1400+ as well in quadrant and I don't think there is anything wrong as when I first got my GS2 my scores where lower than what was seen online from reviewers as well.
Don't forget they probably had a phone with no extra apps on it or just the bare minimum which could also affect the scores.

I got a 1700 reading from quadrant. I don't know if quadrant takes advantage of the dualcore cpu?

I think it doesn't and it needs a desperate update anyway to fully support ICS.
Someone correct me if I am wrong about quadrant standard not seeing both cores?
It's the higher resolution mainly.

High benchmark, what set up?

I eventually ran a benchmark on my CarbonROM install on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus, clocked at a max of 1.6
But, I saw that my device compared to others is just super super low, I don't have the numbers on me as I don't have my phone, but if you're one of those people who have a high benchmark score, what's your setup?
I know it's said that benchmarks aren't important, but they at least have to mean something with performance.
So, what are you running?
Try flashing franco.Kernel. Makes a huge difference!
Before franco: 2204
After franco: 2932 (Quadrant Standard)
ROM: PACman ROM, 1.2 GHz
Seriously, there should be a thread stickied for the bench freaks, all in the same place. *sigh*

See, the thing is, benchmarks really do mean nothing. Benchmarks don't affect how well your device performs. If it runs fast, it runs fast-- you don't need the benchmark to know that.

Yeah. Because being able to crunch 110,000,000 triangles vs 90,000,000 has real world implications.
Yay! It's been a while since we've had a thread to remind us how useless benchmarks are and offer us all an opportunity to debate about it, yet again.:good:
I make my words what Chainfire said, but globaly.
If you trust benchmark results, you'll know that running naked in the garden for 5mins will affects performance by 20%
Neat, alright.
So absolutely nothing?
That really doesn't make any sense to me. Those 90,000,000 triangles being processed will at least show me how well it will do in a game, to a degree, right?
Not in any way you could actually notice. That was also an extreme hyperbole as far as differences go. To be totally honest, the only real value of benchmarks is stress testing an OC but even then there are better ways.

Very nice phone with great specs and a super screen. We own 5 of these units (large family) and they all run very smooth. I would recomend it to anyone. This community on the other hand, well not so great. A lot of snooty peeps on here whining about noob this and misplaced that. If you check my signature you can see im no stranger to these forums and I can tell you I have never encountered so many mods and people closing threads and being rude. So if you can live with the community support until the phone becomes more popular and the forum gets straitened out then id say go for it. Just remember that there wont be much custom stuff for months to come. Thecubed sounds like he is coming here though so hope is alive.

I tend to read other forums and the people are down right rude to each other. and Lord please don't say that your s4 or HTC one have a build problem or some kind of possible defect those people will come down on you with the wrath of God. sometimes I do feel like people's comment go way to far but overall it's cool here maybe because there isn't much going on yet but let's hope this group of people can keep supporting each other.

I have also had a ton of phones, looked at the s4 and the htc one, and the OG Pro is by far the best out of the lineup in my opinion. I am very picky about my phones, and so far it has been near perfect, wireless charging is nice to.

One other thing you may want to consider is if your watching benchmark reviews dont pay attention to them atm. The antutu scores are about right but mostly everything else is way off. This phone benches very close to s4 with a larger screen. I think perhaps they were benching with power saver or something to get that low.
Benchmarks are a waste of time. My Samsung infuse is still blazing fast.

There are several pro vs s4 vs one vids that have posted quadrants of a little over 8k. Way low on and totally inaccurate. Ive benched all 5 of ours and they hit 12k each time. The gpu is a bit lower end than s4 speeds but as we know pro has a much larger screen thus slightly decreased scores.
is this phone have fast touch ? because in gs3 when i touch the apps icons it's slow to open not fast touch like gs2 what about optimus g pro ?

The OGPro is extreamly responsive. Any native app opens very fast. As for 3rd party apps- I personally have no complaints but at times it might depend on the app...even thogh the possessor is one of the best out there and no app should cause a slow down.
On the other hand, I come from a SGSII and this phone is a killer...I love it so much!!!
I've never even thought that I will buy an LG but Sammy got me so tired of the look and feel of the UI and without tweeks I was not happy... This one though-I'll keep even without bootloader unlocked
But, to each their own

It's not powersaver, it's something like thermal cap. If you want to see better bench scores you may do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2296447 . I saw as much as 12900 points in Quadrant on my unit

Also G Pro is drop proof http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291728
My own unit dropped from 1m height from top of my launder machine on ceramic tile floor, slipped from the rags. No dumps, no scratches, no cracks whatsoever from that drop

Benchmarks - Curiosity Posts

Anyone post some benchmarks! I personally don't hold a lot of stock in benchmarks but am curious about what other folks are getting... To me, this seems rather low but I'd like to see some others to compare...

Unless it's total bias from the application. Should we not be rolling with the results? Shouldn't they be higher? Fastest chip available currently... Other specs... Just seems low...

Too much can influence the results of benchmarks, like a random background app using up CPU cycles. Geekbench also isn't that reliable IMO anyway, they test difference cpus differently which make it look like the iPhones are as fast as laptops with core i7 processors which couldn't be farther from the truth.
I have the essential phone and the 2xl and this is what I got
Interesting stuff... And the comment made about Geekbench and Apple products is so true.. their benchmarks look so fake at times...
Yeah.. Unless Apple has the fastest chips on the planet.. these scores are a bit, what's the word?
Single core score for iOS and Android.. Top 3 results..
