I've looked around and several solutions are provided but none of them work. I have downlaoded several themes in ZIP-format. I just can't seem to add them to my theme manager. I've tried renaming to MTZ and opening via the Theme Manager->Import from SD-card, but that doesn't work either. Any solutions?
Which Miui version you are using and which theme you will use?
I have many problems with the Miui 1.4.29 version and the current themes.
Since GB I have to many problems with it. I changed back to GB Sence and give it a try
The latest? I only flashed my ROM since wednesday I believe. So I suppose the latest
Have you tried opening the zip and placing the .mtz file in the theme manager?

The ZIP doesn't contain a MTZ.
Tell us which Theme you will use then we can help.
Have you download and active other Themes over the Theme Manager?
Have you the same issue?
This is an example of a theme: http://miuithemes.com/63/paper-miui-theme/

Downloading via the Theme Manager works fine although not a lot of themes give me a preview of the theme.
Maybe it is not possible to install these themes via theme manager, because they change some systemfiles which cannot be changed with a running system?!
IMHO i would always do it on this way:
1.) Download the theme and copy it on sd-card
2.) Reboot phone into recovery
3.) Make a complete nandroid backup, just in case
4.) Flash the theme as normal
5.) Reboot phone
I think, this is the best and safest way. So you should try this and tell me, if it works.

hey i installed supercm7 mod rom and i cant get theme chooser to work and it used to force close. i removed it and installed in from market but it gives me a list of themes to install and not any apk that i installed previously on cm7 so can anyone give me cm7 theme chooser which would let me choose normal apk themes?
Hi guys , till date I have only used theme chooser themes from which switching to other themes is easy , but Is it the same case for cwm flashable themes also ?
Will I be able to switch to other Cm9/aokp themes from Theme chooser ?
Flashable themes that are still around and being updated...theme the portions that are impossible to theme with the theme chooser.
To get back to your stock rom theme...
You must simply flash the rom again without wiping anything.
Keep in mind:
This will also remove:
A ) System apps that you've installed manually (like myself, I install Cerberus as a system app).
B ) Custom Boot audio.
C ) Your custom Kernel if you've installed one.
Anything in the /system/ directory that you changed.
This will NOT change your settings...apps (except system apps, as mentioned) or anything like that.
Themes from theme changer will still work after...
But the missing parts that theme changer themes (or the parts the theme developer left out) will still remain as the theme you flashed.
Thanx . That means if I flash a theme and I can switch to cm9 themes from theme chooser though some parts will be remain themed as it would become the default system theme ?
Yep.
At least if the flashable theme changed anything that the theme chooser cannot change.
Best method (always) is to select the system theme...and then the new theme.
This will clear out anything that theme chooser can theme.
BUT...to completely clear any them that was flashed, flash the rom.zip again.
I have been using the Huawei theme editor and it is working truly amazing.
I tried to modify some existing themes with nougat icon packs and the the themes that are created give me a serious problem.
Using the first icon pack, my huawei theme engine, didn't recognize the newly created themes.
After using a second pack, I am not able to change theme at all.
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Is there any way that I can install a theme through TWRP?
Or maybe I set of files that I have to delete, in order to change again my theme?
(PS: I tried deleting the .cache directory and the theme, but it didn't work).
Thanks in advance
