don't u think that's a little bit "VERY LATE" news?

It is kinda late and the new Android version will come on the Nexus One first. The HTC Desire needs to wait till next year when it will come tougher with sense 2.0.

I was under impression gingerbread was gettibg rid of sense and other such nasties. So desire owners will have to wait for gingerbread. Surely developers can port nexus obe rom to desire once its released?

The desire had Froyo way before HTC released it 'officially' with Sense UI. We should get Gingerbread as soon as the source is released.

sense roms update is allways delayed by google/htc, thats why nexus one will get update immidiately and desire will get it later.
any way hope we will get gingerbird as soon as it is released.

i give it a week before one of you gifted nerd bastards bless us with gingerbread
i shall donate immediately.

Now I like the sound of this already!

well. no one know how gingerbread will look. froyo changed how android look and so will gingerbread.

Hearing the Gingerbread name makes me feel tasty. and it sounded very delicious rom to cook by the devs.

I hope we can have Gingerbread before Christmas...lol!

yeah thats right, but we just need the gingerbread base, than u can customize via launchers or wait for some good devs to make good custom roms like cyanogen or miui

[Q] Sense 4.0

Hey Guys I have an ICS ROM without sense and its great but I also want sense 4.0, But I know I could only do it if I flash another ROM with sense on it. is there a way to get sense 4.0 without flashing a new ROM?
(sorry if this is a noob question )

In order to have Sense (any version of it) you have to flash a ROM that has Sense incorporated.
At the moment, there is no Ice Cream Sandwich ROM that has a fully functional Sense 4.0 (be it full Sense 4.0 or Sense 4.0A) layer, mostly because Camera and other few apps don't work yet.

i suggest you one rom with ics with sense 4 that its name is sencewich and it is in beta 6 and soon realise beta 7 that i think that will be without problem and very fast .

For waiting you must try quadrasense rom, ics rom with some sense 4 finction an half sense 4 rom god for waiting new sense 4 stable...

How about porting from HTC T329W RUU?
That device is also called Proto, which will be released soon and its hardware is similar to Desire. It's running on Android 4.0.4 with Sense 4.0 on WVGA. I believe its RUU would release soon, and that could be the better base to port. In terms of porting/deving, I'm afraid I can hardly help except for testing it after work.

The HTC proto doesn't have the same spec as it runs on a dual core processor while the HTC desire is only a sing core phone
HTC Proto – will run on a dual-core 1GHz processor with 768 MB of RAM also under the hood and 4GB of usable memory on board.

After shaky's thread I think everyone is just being cautious, I hope so anyway cos they should. Looking forward to a time when we'll finally get sense4and kernel 3 on my Desire.

How can you possibly fix bugs when you can't even figure out why the rom you flashed keeps on FC-ing on you? I hope you can prove me wrong.

ICS wifi doesn't work

I'm using [BETA 0.18.2.1][17.09] ICS for Desire[ALL HBOOTS][4.0.4] rom, half year ago I installed this rom(but another version) and it worked.
before installing rom, I made a full wipe. rebooting doesn't help.
Wifi just can't find any wifi networks...:crying:

To many threads opened about problems with ICS/JB roms, and people you're becoming boring. Before you instal those 'fancy' roms search a little bit and see how many problems they caused, and then don't cry when something isn't working.

Past Devs already confirmed it would be useless even trying for XYZ reasons. I don't see what benefits we could get from it.
Now what I would like to see for Wildfire is a working sense3 port.
But tbh I'm just happy to see people are still using the Phone and people such as you are still Deving & theming

I'll try look into sense 3, i know people been waiting a while for the sense 3.5
So i'll try to make one, also we may need a new kernal for the sense 3.5, because the current is in ok condition, but not stabler enough :/
Going to see if i can fix all the issues myself :good:

It won't work good, because almost all the apks in the ROM are not ldpi and not compatible with the device, although i'm looking into this further more in development.
I'll try to compile sources from different devices with sense 3.5 which have some ldpi compatible features
