I downloaded a few apps and thought they were going to be in the .apk format but to my surprise they were in the .bin format. What the hell do I have to do to get these installed?

I've never seen that before - where did you get then from?
Sent from my HummerPhone using the XDA App
Coolant.com
Coolapk.com
well the only time i've seen bin files are when I'm dling a pirated program like starcraft or rosetta stone or something. Then you have to mount the files to a virtual CD rom drive. essentially their an entire CD's image copied. Maybe for some reason the files your looking for are inside of the BIN ya could try magic disc or daemon tools to check inside perhaps.
turns out I was only having that problem when trying to d/l the files from my EVO. When I use my PC the same website downloads the files at .APK
Strange...
The latest version of Rockplayer is supposed to play files from a network whilst browsing it through a file manager (EStrongs and Astro) but I cannot get this to work. I click on the file, choose Rockplayer from the popup, but it wont play.
Ive tried it on LOADS on different types of movie files but no joy.
Anyone help?
I just bought the airsync app .
I cant seem to find where the .apk was downloaded. I checked the download file and all the new files that the airsync program created. no .apk
Any suggestions?
Email the developers with proof of purchase and I'm sure they'll help you out.
Done. but my question then is if it is downloaded from the market place, what is it downloading and where does it save it to?
Also does android after installation delete the downloaded files?
If you are rooted you can get the apk out of /data/app or /data/app-private
I've noticed with some apps that if you're sd card is mounted to the phone you can't dl them. It happens with Angry Birds and Five Pumpkins games for me.
apps get installed to /data/app.
But as far as Airsync goes, I thought that it was an extenstion to the DoubleTwist app... Maybe that's why you can't find the apk.
hi, sorry if this has been posted before
my brother just got a desire today and i put doodle jump on it from my laptop but we cant find the files folder where i put it
my galaxy s has a 'my files' folder in app drawer where all music and apps download to but we couldnt find anything like that on his desire, just wondering if we are missing something
he downloaded astro file manager aswell but couldnt find it through that either
thanks
How have you moved Doodle Jump to the phone?
You have to download a File Manager like OI File Manager and install the .apk from there.
Or just download Doodle Jump from the market...
i moved it to his sd card when it came up on computer but cant find where it is to install
he searched for it with astro file manager but it said nothing found
is IO any better ??
Maybe you can try to copy it again to the SD-Card.
No it isn't that much different.

how about a tekken file: Tekken [SLUS-00006].7z or Tekken [SLUS-00006].7z.ecm files?
i tried to unzip these and it didn't work. any suggestions?
Extract .ecm Format
Hey Man, To Extract Files .ecm, you need drag file to unecm.exe app,
and according to that file it will create a .7 z file and give just starting extract using 7zip or winrar.
i've got .7z file, .rar and .rar.ecm files...which one do i use can make my game to work? i haven't been able to get them to convert to .bin or files to work. help.
Next step?
I get a similar problem. I know my emulator and BIOS work 'cause I've already played RE3 without any problem, though I can't remember how I got the ISO file from 7Zip. Now I downloaded MGS, and when I unzip the .7z I get everything in parts. These include an image file, .ccd, .cue and .sub for each of the disc of the game. What do from there?

Well if you load one of them it actually works I think the .cue but I also don't know how to put them all as one iso so if someone could help with that it'd be great

The image file works, I get to the start menu but no further...
download zarchiver from play store and use the program to extract the teken. 7z file
you will end up with a. bin or. img file and that is the file fpse will recognise.
You need to unzip the one file you download and it should show up as a few different files. Put them all on your sd card, but only load the .img or .iso (The largest file).
Alternatively now you can reinstall fpse but this time choose the "easy" menu instead of advanced, and it will show you covers of autodetected games so you don't have to select specific files.
