Missing icons after FroYo update

Hi, after FroYo update all new apk files that I put on my sd card dont have their icons in Astro file manager. The icon is default. Is it Astro or FroYo problem?
I'm guessing it's an astro thing but as I don't use it I don't know.
Contact them and ask.
So which file manager do you use, and why not Astro?
Everyone says that Astro is the best so I chose it... but it seems to have many small bugs, something is always wrong with it. So I am thinking about change.
I have not used Astro before I upgraded to froyo but can confirm that it does not show icons for the apk files. It just shows a standard Green and white Android logo.
I use app monster and also root explorer. I also have ES File Explorer installed for some reason but have never used it

[Q] File manager to browse and edit /data?

Where can i find a file manager to actually allow editing of the data section?
I want to view and modify the actual files
Some apps don't show anything, others (like linda file manager ) just show the installed apps and give you the ability to remove them...
Thanks
Kris
I use estrongs file manager. You will to set root options in settings.
I use root explorer, does the job its ment to
Astro File Manager here
Don't think it can do as much as the ones listed above, but it's good enough for my day-to-day demands.

Best File Manager

Is there a file manager that allows you to modify files within a zip (like delete, copy, paste, etc.), and allows you to extract multiple zips at once? I've tried ES File Explorer and Solid Explorer but neither work.

Multiple selection = batch operation? I don't see it that way, maybe you don't get what he means.
For example, Root Explorer can open zips, multi select files, but won't multi un-zip or process the files within a zip.
AFAIK there's no normal file manager that can do zip well. Try finding a dedicated zip app (e.g. AndroZip, though I don't know if it can fulfill your needs because I haven't used that for long)

Dropbox and File Manager

Hello guys, I have a problem with File Manager and its dropbox functions.
I went to Settings>General>Cloud>Cloud Accounts>Dropbox and ticked the File Manager options and even rebooted the device, why cannot I see any options to send to Dropbox on File Manager whenever I choose "share" . Since all the options are checked, why shouldn't it appear on the "share" option on File Manager?
Thanks
Edit: H815 V10C EU rooted
I'm on the LS991, rooted, using File Manager version 4.50.9.2. On my version, there's a section for cloud storage near the bottom of the screen. Where it says "Cloud, Manage Account" I had to set up my Dropbox account manually. Have you done this yet?
Although honestly, I use ES File Explorer for most of my file management.

Set default download location to download folder in external SD card

How can I set my default download location the the external SD card for the files downloaded from Google Chrome? I don't like to keep transferring files from internal memory to my sd especially if they're bigger files. I have my bootloader unlocked and running paulpizz rom
Chrome doesn't give you an option, and I'm not sure what the easiest workaround would be.
But I recently switched from Chrome to Samsung's internet app. The updated version of it gives you ad blocking support AND it lets you choose your default download location.

Thanks. I may just use that
If you don't want to change browsers you could use Tasker App to auto move the files to the external sd card location later.
Or you could try using/setting ES File Explorer as default download manager and telling chrome to us it. Then set the download path in ES File Explorer.
Also one could switch to Firefox:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1028808
First, you need to know the folder path you want to use. An app like ES File Explorer File Manager will be helpful if you do not have a file manager.
(1) Open a new tab to about:config (type about:config in the Awesomebar and tap the go arrow or tap Enter).
You may want to bookmark this for easier future access.
(2) In the search box, type down and tap Enter
(3) Scroll down to browser.download.folderList and tap Modify, then change the value from 1 to 2 (from "default always" to "last used folder"). The change should appear after a few seconds.
(3) Scroll back up and tap the large "+" button to the left of the search box to add a new setting
(A) The name of the preference should be browser.download.dir (this stores the last used directory)
(B) On the right side, tap Boolean and in the popup change it to String
(C) The value depends on the folder you want. For example:
/sdcard/FxDown (D) Then click Create (if you are too slow, it may clear and you might have to start again)
If you switch back to your other tab and download something, it should go to the new folder.

It may be possible to create a symbolic link? You can do this in terminal and I think MiXplorer can also do it
I think xposed has a module you can use to do this

try using redirect file organizer from Google play store. Best way to organize your files while downloading in one place. I love it

I have that app but all I can find is move app to sd. How do you use it to set the download location for all apps?
