Both of which are down now. HTC is the maker, but doesn't care much once the product is built. Sales are being done by the operators and under the Qtek btand name, which is their own brand but marketed by others.
If you're really curious, here is a document for sale on Amazon.com that describes HTC. Only $495.00!

Also HTC is the manufacturer of ipaq (i am not sure if new ipaqs are manufactured by HTC)
for htc web site you can use this ip: (site is working, but dns is down)
http://203.67.204.129/
BTW, even some links in htc web site are incorrect, e.g. achievements link points to news page instead of:
http://203.67.204.129/achievements/index.html
although "achievements" page is the most important page in whole site .
yes I have also the similar question in my mind about the manufacturer of the qtek2020 xda that's why I am here but I read about it in a blog you can also take some guidance here about the manufacturer information.

Same situation
Hi IMEI victims.
I am also one of the legal Wizard users in Turkey.
Unfortunately my phone has been blocked because I bought it from Germany. What a mess!
I have a legal invoice but they don't care about it.
I do urgently need that great software when available.
Thanks
And the Turkish government want to get into the EU? :?
To do that it will have to stop treating its citizens like criminals and introduce free speech, free trade and freedom of expression.
This is a free trade issue but for free speech and free expression problems - see these sites:

Blocked wizard
Hi,
Same problem here. My wizard was blocked two days ago. It was registered with Turkcell and registration query on their database confirms it. But, http://imei.tk.gov.tr shows it as dedected unregistered. It is not possible to reach telecomms. board's phones. Always busy...
I've been to Turkish Telecommunication's site. They did not help me on changing the situation.
I am gonna to prepare a petition about this mess to the goverment.
But I hope that the IMEI changer software will soon be available by RAFWM. So that we don't need any help from those bulls.

The Brit
As I can see you don't know anything about turkey. In Turkey there are many ethnic groups which live in peace all together for centuries. Everyone has a right to speak in their native language but what we cannot allow is to make a political movement and separate from our country? The websites that you gave is the advertisement for a terrorist group which killed our 40.000 innocent citizens in 10 years. They are one of the biggest and the strongest terrorist group in the world supported by many countries and other terrorists. There are many more I can tell you about this subject but no need I guess. For to make long story short be careful what you are supporting.

I know this about turkey, it is a similar situation like in thailand before few years. Only "white listed" units could function, what a crap.
ok, look... I have a solution for that, but the problem is, that changing imei is not legal in most countries.
how would you like to proove to me, that your phone is legal?
how you will find out an imei from whitelist?

our phones have a legal bills and we bought them from abroad because they are not in our country market
so you can be sure about they are totally legal.
i don't know how can i prove that they are legal more than this.
can you explain your solution?

FOR ADMINS - File Hosting

I've been visiting this site for a long time now, and noticed that almost everyone uses Rapidshare...
I download a lot from this site because I own many different types of phones... But I don't like waiting for Rapidshare.
I also build websites for friends and friends of friends and host my own site as well through GoDaddy.com.
I have 5gigs of space, and 250gigs of bandwidth and would like to be considered as a file hoster. I can set up a folder(s) for XDA and give access to this site so people can just upload any file they want straight from the forums.
Would XDA-Developers be interested in that?
XDA-Developers already have the FTP open for all, people mainly use Rapidshare for ROMs after the take down notice from MS for ROMs on the FTP. No need for webspace!
mikechannon said:
If you want to host ROMs for some of the developers then that's up to you to work something out with them. Remember though that there are some powerful organisations that might take an unhealthy interest in you.

Portal site / redirect to malware scam

Twice this evening I hit "READ MORE>" links on the portal and the tabs that were opened had been redirected to a malware scam:
http://preview.tinyurl.com/2338wlu
All ok here, never happened that
I have been redirected as well, just innocently clicking on articles on the main page. I sent an email to the webmaster just now with a complaint.
Got redirected to safyeom.in just like you with a scare malware scam. I really hope the webmaster/owners have nothing to do with this as it is quite disappointing.
Same problem here.
Now happened to me as well
In the portal whenever I want to click on any article it redirects me to a supposed malaware but nothing happens, after you click again and all ok
I´m sure Admins are aware of this and will be solved ASAP
Just happened to me also. Only, it keeps happening. Clicked on the article title link Boot Animations + Tutorial for Android a few times and happened each time.
Yeah, the blog is definitely infected. Redirects to malware when you click on any of the tags for the stories too.
Contacting the server Sys. Admin for XDA along with the site admins
EDIT: Talked to the portal admin and got a story on the front page to warn users, working on resolving this issue.

This is a XSS (Cross Site Scripting) attack where an advertiser publishes on a site legitimately for a while then switches to a malicious site. not at the fault of the site owners... This has happened to other large sites like the new york times and such
yeah, happened to me a few times. funny too. i run ubuntu, and it was 'scanning my system' finding several windows viruses.
the websites picked up were with .in suffixes (india)
glad to hear that it's the site, though, and not something local
Yeah, I noticed this too. Glad its not my PC...but I'm not exactly happy XDA's taking a hit for the team.
Forums back up (obviously) the portal will stay down for a little time...

If you declined any download, then you should be OK. I'd suggest scanning with something in addition to your regular scanner, like Malware Bytes Antimalware (I only suggest it as it's free, and doesn't use a real-time monitor like other AV packages, so won't conflict with what you have installed already).
The XDA Portal is temporarily offline. Visit the Forums!
Glad to know that I was not the only one.
Got worried that my machine was infected, went so far as to actually run a trace to verify that the malware was being launched from the website, haha

Anyone know about this issue ?? USSD/Android Dailer vulnerability

Does anyone know about this issue ?
http://www.isk.kth.se/~rbbo/ussdvul.html
just info.
To be honest, the article does seem quite absurd to me. There are many points that are pretty ridiculous or don't seem right
1. There happen to be no cases of SIM cards being killed by such a simple code and method. If there were, wouldn't such case have been published by any reliable source such as a major mobile provider? As far as I know, the only mention of such exploitation is with this website (which honestly look quite dodgy to me ). The reference website provided by the author mentions no inferences or references to the 'killer codes', but merely states what dialer can do. Also, where are the killing codes? surely, if SIM cards have been around for 15 years, again, there must be some sort of publicity or acknowledgement from a reliable source.
2. Again, no case of Samsung phones being wiped in the last 2 years. Isn't the definition of 'exploitation', the act of employing to the greatest advantage? Then, how so, has there been no indication of any 'Samsung only' memory massacre, or anything close to mentioned scale, in the last 2 years if the
hidden USSD codes were no longer secret
from more than last 2 years.

This was reported on the BBC web new site, but at the end of the report they did say that no cyber criminals would use this as they can not obtain any personal details, login, accounts, etc so no use to them... But still a worry.
