[Q] Will i encounter 0% battery Problem - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to everyone.
I followed the tutorial in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274572 to get rooted on 2.3.4. I was having 2.3.3 3.0.1.A.145 generic saudia Arabia. All went well without problem. My question is if i decided to downgrade to 2.3.2 then root and OTA to 2.3.3 -4.0.A.2.368. will i get the 0% battery issue. I want to test .368 coz i find on 2.3.4 my battery drains faster than on 2.3.3 - 3.0.1.A.145.
My arc is Locked Bootloader rooted with gingerbreak
Thank you

Questions like this can/should be posted on the thread in question, and in the OP of the thread you've linked to it does address your question already.

Simple answer: You must downgrade to .184 after a 2.3.4 update if you plan to do a .181 flash later.
Otherwise do what ever you want, it will not give you LED/battery problem.
I am getting tired of telling the same thing over and over again.
2.3.4 -> flash.181 = Not good!
OK now?

Did you try
Edit: gave the most possible bad advise due to misreading.
Other way is to download seus, Sony Ericsson update service, and update through that, but for sure you lose your root rights than.
Further on all your answers will be here on the first page, so you could have done some reading first, than you would have found out asking this question is a bit ought...

Settings/about phone/
Software update, your phone will check if there is an update available.
With the ota, over the air, update you have a chance you still have a rooted phone.

OTA for unlocked bootloaders will brick your phone. There is a fix for that now though.
Be careful of the advice you give.
You are right, I didn't read that, my apologise!!

You have to install flashTool 0.2.9.1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Then get the updated firmware 3.0.1.A.0.145 or 146 https://rapidshare.com/files/4055154....146_Global.7z. You can keep your settings (option i FlashTool).
Then get the rootexperia.zip from Bin4ry http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130639 and flash it via recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14903452&postcount=169
Hope this helps
Just flash a 2.3.3 ROM (preferably rooted) with fastboot. Look in the Development section for a ROM. Its fairly easy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044201
There lots of ROMs and a very good tutorial how to flash using fastboot.
very thanks i try
i have tray and work. Very thanks

Yes same problem with me also...i've downloaded 6times but after rebooting it is saying "could not update"
I also have this problem.
I rooted my Arc yesterday, then updated to 2.3.3, but now I cannot update to newer versions via WiFi or OTA, it just gives me a message saying 'you must use a computer to update your phone'.
If I do as it says will this damage the phones firmware, unroot my phone or just simply work???
Help plz???
Hellooo, its mentioned many times in the General section of the Arc forum that the Generic.181 is not used for OTA to .368
You must flash either HK.181 or Generic_UK.184 otherwise it will not work...
and then after you flash you loos every thing just perfect I'm beginning to think rooting my phone was a waist of time .

Look at threads in general section, we now have Root for 2.3.4
Downgrade to the UK rom 2.3.2 with Flashtool -> Gingerbreak -> OTA update via WiFi ( as in some coutries UK rom restricts Data (2g/3g) connection untill the correctconfig is obtained.. But if you keep it running on WiFi they will selv-download )
And it's not a waste of time.. i've had my Arc for just some hours out of the box and did this in halv an hour.. If you use Alternative Messaging app, Homescreen app and contacts app... You can backup the needed things.. So no problem at all reflashing.. just reflash and restore
Have fun with your FreeToBePhone!
wait for a while...
i wait..and today i was able to update 2.3.4 (build number .283)
over OTA..and root remain..
just to say...
before OTA i had 2.3.3 (.145)...i was downgrade to 2.3.2 to gain root and OTA...
after few day again OTA (not downgrade) and here i am
Ok I too followed the guide, I'm rooted on 2.3.2 (.181). From my research it looks like I used the wrong file when I flashed the phone. Can someone please send me the link to the correct file?

[Q] Downgrade from ICS without battery issue

Hi there,
Before you say it I did search but didn't find what I wanted
I have the LT15i with ICS on it and I want to downgrade to 2.3 because I am sending it in to Sony to get the crack repaired.
But I am worried that I will flash the wrong firmware on it (an earlier one) which will cause the 0% battery issue..
could someone post the link to a suitable generic .tft file that I can flash to get me 2.3 without the battery problem
cheers
Okay so I am going to probably flash 4.0.2.A.0.42 so I can retain root, can someone just confirm if this is a safe file to flash and wont give me the 0% battery notice? I assume it is fine as its 2.3.4 but just a confirm would be great
I went ahead and all is good
You will not get this issue, it is caused by the downgrade to 2.3.2. The 4.0.2.A.0.42 is 2.3.4. So, you can flash this firware without risk.

[Q] xperia s new firmware official update .55 problem

greetings ,
i have an Xperia s phone with the firmware 6.1.A.2.50 rooted with root many droids (bin4ry)
software update in my phone showed that there is new update available...
i downloaded the new update...but it always fails to update..
is it cuz it's rooted??
should I unroot my device so that i can update...???
im a bit confused :silly:
You can flash stock 6.1.A.2.50 again and then try to update, it should work then. Rooting actually doesn't affect update via PCC or SUS, as far as i know.
But yes if the bootloader is unlocked then you won't be able to update as well. So your device bootloader unlocked or locked?
One more thing you should remember the new update 0.55 is not easily rootable. The method which worked for 0.50 and 0.45 won't work on 0.55
Lastly the new update 0.55 doesn't bring anything special. I tried and then went back to 0.50 again. Still it's your call.

Funny thoug, that Sony claim to be open for external development and for eg. XDA, and at the same time Sony make an effort to secure that you can't root every time they release new firmware...

:good: thanks guys,im a newbie here..i dunno the answer your question...
i bought the new device and all i did is rooted via Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18...i dunno if it unlocks the bootlloader...
i rooted my device though it wasn't useful to me rather than before rooting cuz i dunno how to use the maximum before rooting..
i heard that the firmware is better for the RAM and i have a wireless problem (it freezes n dysfunction)..
thanks a lot again auni
anyway i fixed it ma self....just used the stupid pc companion and it worked though it took some time to download the update..
thanx XDA

[Q] How to upgrade from GB back to ICS? (Emma flashtool)

Hey guys, I searched all over the net and xda forums and found lots of similar threads but I still don't know what exactly to do.
So I have Arc S (LT18i) and my phone upgraded by itself from Gingerbread to ICS stock 4.0.4 some time ago.
Today when using Emma I accidentally downgraded to stock GB 2.3.4 and now I don't know how to upgrade back to stock ICS I had before. I tried with Sony Companion because it detected new software (4.1.B.0.587) but it said it couldn't.
I actually wanted to install custom rom CyanogenMod 10.2. but I bumped into lots of things..and I ended up with downgraded version on my phone. I rooted it again and now don't know what to do.
Bootloader: unlocked
Rooted phone
Build number: 4.0.2.A.0.62
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1
How can I upgrade back to stock ICS or if there is a way I can simply install custom rom (tho I'm a big noob and a bit scared of it)?
Please help if anyone has any links or anything that could help, thanks in advance.
Flash stock ics ftf using flashtool

Okay so I'm singing right now like a little kid! I found out I couldn't update through Sony Companion because I had unlocked bootloader so I locked it back (flashtool) and upgraded with Companion and right now Im running on 4.0.4 ICS!
Yesterday I tried flashing stock ics but there was an error and couldn't flash it properly so I was really worried.
Thanks anyway for the answer!
if you say us the error maybe we can help you
and why you want to flash stock ics when you are running it?
You can look at *#*#SEVICE#*#* in dialer then you go to service and configuration. there is standing bootloader unlock allowed: yes i think because you are unlocked it some day ago..
i rate you down for unlocking your bootloader because you cannot run OTA and you loose your warranty.
and you can boot into fastboot so you are able to flash kernels, what means you can run all roms except some roms like cm or miui !
so flash a kernel and run a rom what you want.
If you tell us the problem, i think we can solve it
Yours,
Slimey!
