With CM 7.1 official launched Oct 9, will there still be a CM7 by Quarx?
I just seen a Oct 11 nightly for Quarx.
If Quarx version will still live on, can anyone comment on the differences?
CM7.1 official IS by Quarx
Both are by Quarx.
But seems the 7.1 version got a wifi problem, while the 7.0 nightlies don't.

Well i havent experienced any issues with wifi so far... everythings working fine... but then again i dont play with it as much as before
i try the official now, everything works well so far (and wifi). I have tried rc1.5, many nightlys, never had a problem with wifi!!!!I think i am lucky
running official cm.. works good but proxmity censer vibrates while on call when i check while on call or after call ends.. tried everything but bug persists.. will switch back to unofficial version..
On my Defy with CM 7.1, wifi works well too and also was able to download 218 MB data through it for Madden NFL 12 without any issue
The only difference is the battery life.. official version drains battery n the unofficial holds good battery life..
the official version need some work in the video codecs, the "unofficial" is more stable for me

Is there an advantage of flashing cyanogenmod 7.0.3.1 if I am using nightly 64? Is it that more stable? Are the bug fixes noticeable? Or I might just wait until the 2.3.4 update...
I would say that really depends on your flashing habits. Do you usually flash nightlies when they come out? If you're just going to flash a new nightly when it releases then you probably shouldn't bother, but if you plan to stay on 7.0.3.1 for a while, then you may as well use it in case there were any small issues in the nightly that were fixed.
The nightlies (even the one that came out a few days) are basically newer than 7.0.3.1. 7.0.3.1 is a bug fix, but the nightlies are working towards 7.1. The question is whether you want to be running a "stable" build (7.0.3.1) or a dev build of the next version. That's your call.
You actually can't go from the nightlies to 7.0.3.1 without wiping data, as it's a downgrade.
MMS hasn't worked since at least #62, FWIW.

MMS works for me on nightly 64...sent a picture today to confirm it.
Sending works, receiving doesn't. Message fails to download.
stable is andoird 2.3.3. stable. nightly 64 is android 2.3.4. no mms download. not too stable. but if you don't donwload mms all the time, and don't mind asking "could you email it instead" then go right ahead and flahs the newest nightly.
Hey!
I want to put CM rom on my gf's wildfire and i didn't find anywhere the difference between the regular and the nightly version... can someone explain it to me?
Nightlies are experimental versions, which may be better than the stable, but, it may sometimes also have bugs not present in the stable. The building of nightlies is a continuous process, with a new nightly released everyday.
Another difference is that you do not get "official" support on the CM Bug tracker for nightlies, but, this is available for RC / Stable versions.
For your gf's phone, I would probably recommend you go with the stable.
thank you for your help!
stable is better for father, i think
I love CM but I don't flash every nightly nor do I spend all day reading all the posts in the CM 10 threads (even less so with the CM updater). When it was announced that CM 10 was stable I installed our build and WiFi stopped working. I wonder if that is fixed and which date I should install if that's the case. Thank you.

Everything is working just fine for me on the CM10 Stable build that I downloaded here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=stable&device=epicmtd I assume that is where you got yours from too? Did you try restoring settings from your previous build? That can break things very easily. I would try a fresh CM10 install.
There are some unofficial CM12.1 builds for our lovely ZL, one in the development section in this forum and some unofficial builds by freexp ( http://fxpblog.co/cyanogenmod/cyanogenmod-12.1/).
I'm going to switch to CM cause I don't believe sony will ever release 5.1 or at least a stagefright patch for our phone.
Is anyone using 12.1 as a daily driver? Are the builds running stable? Is there something that holds you back from using CM?
Thanks for your opinions!
Hi. I'm on cm12.1 for a month and its working fine.

Thank you! Any idea where to get a recent build? Fxp is a month old and in the build by qsnc some things are broken (chrome?).
I'd like to build it myself, but since I have a bandwith of exactly 384kb/s it would take years to download cm source....
I'm compiling my own. ☺
You can try the version on the radio active time fix thread.
It´s ok not the best !!!

I installed CM 12.1 from official CM site and run pretty good, sometimes i think that phone its over heating, especially when im playing some memory drain game. I trying now back to Stock 5.1.1 (xperiafirmware) but have problen when try to flash TFT in flashtool.
In my opinion, i prefer stock than CM 12.1, but its only my mind. (excuses for my horrible english)
I've flashed at least 7 ROMs at this point, and I have experienced nothing but boot-loops, crashes, camera issues, and random reboots. Each time that I have tried a ROM, I would have to eventually switch back to stock ROM because of the bugs. So my question to you all is, is there ANY ROM out there that has no common bugs like wifi connectivity issues, gps issues, boot loops, camera issues, etc.? I really want to find a stable rom for this phone because the stock rom is unbearably laggy and I know that this phone can be a lot faster than it is acting.
Thank you so much for at least reading this, and if you can give me an extremely stable rom, then I would be very grateful
Using cm12.1 March nightly
Hello, I have recently got this phone and mine is a d2tmo, so I searched many roms and checked out their comments section, but couldn't find any official cm12.1 topics. But did find CM12.1 Rom in the official website.
download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=d2tmo&type=nightly
have been running this rom from past 1 week, I think the battery is not good enough, but overall other issues dont seem to be popping around so freuently. Yes, I recommend it as a daily driver.
P.S: just today, CM13 Nightly has been uploaded, might not be the daily driver, but happy that there's Marshmallow for this 4 year old phone.
I've been using Slimkat 9.0 (KitKat 4.4.4) for over a year now. Fast, stable, bugsfree, minimalistic, easy on battery (24hr+ on 4yr old battery!) & efficient. http://slimroms.net/index.php/downloads/dlsearch/viewcategory/1183-d2lte -- try it u will love it

Been using cm12.1 nightly for last 4 months slight problems with bluetooth but dont think its the rom.
I use built in updater today and did not notice that it was cm13. system went into Update google services loop so I flashed gapps you suggested but was still unable to boot successfully .
Any thoughts? I do have nadroid backup so not urgent.

I had been dirty flashing (without really knowing what that is) the first android 6.0 rom for the S3 and it was going swell til they switched to the cyanogen nightly and everything broke on me, random restarts, Snapchat front camera never worked. But thank you for the recommendation, I flashed it (clean flash this time) and everything works and it's my daily driver now
