[Q] Is there a working stable version of CM10? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I love CM but I don't flash every nightly nor do I spend all day reading all the posts in the CM 10 threads (even less so with the CM updater). When it was announced that CM 10 was stable I installed our build and WiFi stopped working. I wonder if that is fixed and which date I should install if that's the case. Thank you.

Everything is working just fine for me on the CM10 Stable build that I downloaded here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=stable&device=epicmtd I assume that is where you got yours from too? Did you try restoring settings from your previous build? That can break things very easily. I would try a fresh CM10 install.

Should I flash CM7_RC2 or latest Nightly??

Ummmm.... which one should I flash??
Oh and why
Thanks =)
The Nightly's has fixed some issues in the last RC. Flash the Nightly.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
The latest nightly obviously is more up to date, and it of course has the fixes that the RC2 doesn't. I don't think anyone will tell you that it's any more or less stable than the RC2. For most people, the GPS has been fixed in the last few builds as well.
If I had to give a recommendation I'd say flash the nightly, the RC2 is quite old at this point as far as builds go.
Which to flash
I believe you have to flash RC2 and then the latest nightly over it, but I could be wrong on that, its just what I always have done. In fact I suggest you flash the new nightlies every time they come out. There have been a couple of times where the new nightly has screwed up more then it has fixed but the majority of the time its an improvement. Actually let me correct myself. usually I don't notice a difference however if you read the discussion forum for the nightlies then you see the problems that people had been having and are being fixed so its nice to know that if you had tried what they did it will now work

[q] cm7 nightly & cm7

Hey!
I want to put CM rom on my gf's wildfire and i didn't find anywhere the difference between the regular and the nightly version... can someone explain it to me?
Nightlies are experimental versions, which may be better than the stable, but, it may sometimes also have bugs not present in the stable. The building of nightlies is a continuous process, with a new nightly released everyday.
Another difference is that you do not get "official" support on the CM Bug tracker for nightlies, but, this is available for RC / Stable versions.
For your gf's phone, I would probably recommend you go with the stable.
thank you for your help!
stable is better for father, i think

[Q] About CM9 Nightlies

Okay so I know what is CM9 is but what is the difference between CM9 and a CM9 nightly?
I've looked it up but couldn't really find anything about it.
A nightly is a rom that is build daily. The regular CM9 is build once an Update from google comes. Nightlys are sometiems unstable and mostly for advanced users and developers. If you don't know very much about android developing and flashing just go with the normal CM9 rom

Yeah, what he said....good advice.
I have tried CM7 but never the nightly versions. If you have to have to depend on your phone and don't want to deal with "possible" issues, just stick to the regular rom and skip the nightly versions. The regular versions get updated anyway as the bugs get worked out of the nightly versions.

What is a nightly build? And is it okay for me to install the CM9 nightly build?

This one to be exact: cm-9-20120708-NIGHTLY-p930.zip
A nightly build is essentially a beta build. It still has some bugs, but they are fixed and updated often(to keep up, you would flash every day or two when the new nightly comes out). If you want something a little slower, but not quite as up to date, the RC1 is a good place to start and it is my daily driver and has been since it came out. There are a couple small bugs, but nothing deal breaking that i have found yet. I will probably continue to update with the RC releases since it requires less time flashing and restoring.
So yes, it is absolutely OK to install the nightly build and you can even stay with it until another RC comes out if you want.

is there a stable cm 14.1 for htc 10

i saw some discussion in the cm 13 threads aand saw some of them have few problems
No, there isn't. CM13 isn't stable yet. Some (including me) use it as a daily driver, for which it works fine most of the time. The devs are now working on getting CM13 stable. After that, they'll probably start on CM14, but don't get your hopes up to get it in weeks.
