be careful with this bootloader, it suppose your phone is a SLCD version.
To root it you may use unrevoked with the SLCD compatible recovery image.
Just check around!
Regards
I also have a problem rooting my desire using Unrevoked3. After my device get to the point when unrevoked3 says "waiting for the device to boot".... my device just reboots and just loaded my phone into its usual boot. It doesnt flash the clockwork and do what it supposed to do when Rooting.
My HBOOT version is 0.80. Any ideas?

Try uninstalling HTC sync, I had the same problem.

If this doesnt work, try rooting under a ubuntu live cd.
HBOOT 0.92 is what I had after upgrading to the official FroYo ROM with my AMOLED Desire - just downgrade to HBOOT 0.80 and then use unrEVOked and it'll flash fine (first time I used it the other day, 20 mins all in from downgrade to new custom ROM)

Hi,

now i need to retore evrything to orignal setting to the first rom but now the screen is off ( Black ) and i tired of trying
What I can Do ??
Hi guys, I rooted my phone (2.1 stock/unbranded) using unrevoked, then I flashed my ROM with OpenDesire using clockworkmod. After that I can't access clockworkmod so I installed ROM Manager and flashed it again (works).
After that I flashed it again with updated* HTC 2.10 ROM from forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741663, then bootloop. So I removed the battery, and now I can't access the recovery(only hboot or whatever you call it).
What should i do guys?
Do you have s-off? Flash a new recovery from fastboot if you do, you can run a stock htc ruu from fastboot too, s-off isnt needed for that.

Hey all, got my DHD rooted, and am.going to s-off it, but before I do I'm wondering how I install recovery, or does it come with rooting?
Thanks

After Rooting try to S-Off (I would recommend this super easy tool ) than after you make sure your device is S-Off, install "ROM Manager".
Within Rom manager you will see you can flash Clockwork Recovery.
I have been seeing posts saying that it is still S-ON after unlocked with HTCDev, is that true? And does the version of HBoot maters?
If it is still S-ON, may I ask, can I
Root the device
Flash recovery
Flash kernel
overclock
and Flash ROM
with S-ON?
I really want to help with my friend's Buzz.
#1 yes it does leave S-on but you are allowed to root your phone and from there you can install clockwork rom managar and flash clockwork recover and then you can install roms etc.
#2 Yes you will need to change the hboot, but they will prvide it in the instructions as the wildfire has an asterik for hboot upgrade via ruu.
Acording to heaps of people are using HTC Supertools to get root. Although i have a Desire HD, when i have used this i have not got root, but thats just seems to be me
It should work fine if done correctly.
Hope this helps.

As far as i know, the only thing you can't flash is the radio. I am not sure about kernel though.

Have you tried to get into recovery through the bootloader? (Press volume down + power).

See ,I tried flashing clockwork mod recovery from Rom manager and rebooted into bootloader to go to recovery ,but I get the error ,and according to my friend ,you cannot flash Rom without any recovery.
The problem with my phone is I cannot boot into recovery

You can't get into recovery when flashed it from rom manager by the bootloader option. You have to reboot into recovery from rom manager after flashing it from there cause it's not permanent.
I tried doing that too ,but it has the same result.
is there any way I can put cm7 without flashing into recovery ?
Or can I delete the recovery and put it again ?
My friend told me that if you have the image file of the Rom (which can be backed up from another wildfire having cm7), you can boot into that image and install cm7 .
can this happen ?

You need to install cwm first, Rom manager just gives you a temporary downgrade to flash some older zips which use a different script to newer ones.
I believe you can use fastboot to install it, guide here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
If you follow this guide that will get you cwm 4.x.x and allow you to flash cm7 from recovery, the latest version of cwm is 5.0.2.0 however and the img is knocking about in various places on this forum.

okay ,now this i my bad .
I tried rooting through a site which was meant for the wildfire s .
so i erased the recovery and put clockworkmod recovery .
After 5 tries , i finally got into the recovery and installed CM7 in minutes
Thanks to all of you for help
Heh nice to hear you made it

I am currently using the HTC One (m7wlv) with 4.2.2 and sense 5.0. I have it rooted and s-off by using rumrunner. Now my question is to why my recovery does not work once I am in bootloader I have installed TWRP Manager in the app store then tried to install Recovery from teh app onto my phone and it says my device is not supported. This same problem came up when trying to use CWMR.
Any suggestions?
