I have tried searching the forum for weather updates, weather not updating, weather updating intervals, weather update registry keys...
My weather stopped updating today. I don't know why. I thought maybe I fubar'd a setting when applying tweaks via Advanced Config, but nothing looks wonky in the settings I applied.
I click the weather tab, in the status corner it says updating and a little orb spins...and spins...after a few minutes I click update status, it still just sits and thinks.
I have gone through my registry, and nothing seems out of whack, so I am not sure what I am missing, and why this won't update my weather. I really don't want to try a hard boot to fix it...even with programs backed up, its a pain in the ass.
One last thing...I did change my radio rom 2 days ago. The one that went with the Tmous update had me dropping calls something crazy, so I went back to the radio rom that was first on the TP2 when it was still 6.1.
My calls don't drop now, but my weather stopped updating. Could the radio rom change somehow not be playing nice with the 6.5 rom?
Thanks in advance.
PS--I have yet to find a cooked rom that suits my needs so for the time, I am running a stock Tmous 6.5 rom with radio version 3.46 something or another...(its late for me and brain farts happen regularly at this time)
Are you, by any chance, using My Location for your weather? My Location requires the use of certain radios in order to work properly, and the recent change of radio ROM would explain this issue. The only radios known to work with My Location are 4.49.25.17 and 4.49.25.05, though there was a radio released recently which might work with My Location, though an older one certainly wouldn't work.
How do I disable it? I have tried via settings, but it seems to re-engage itself...assuming I am thinking of the same thing of which you mentioned. I went to Add Location and manually typed in my position and it updated without any issue...but the page one weather report seems to be stuck in updating hell.
EDIT...
after finally getting the location settings to NOT re-engage, the weather will not even consider updating...no updating hell loop...it just says "screw you"...so I will assume my radio rom is to blame. Do you know if the most recent one is stable? I guess if faced with having the weather, or dropping calls, I'll just remove the weather tab. It is just a nice feature, so if I can find a radio that won't be filled with static or dropping, I'd be happy to switch roms again.
I have, as many others have as well, had excellent results with 4.49.25.17. Your mileage may vary, since factors like geography and network play a huge role, but you can always switch back if necessary.
I personally don't use My Location for my weather though. If you manually add your location, then tap on the home tab's clock and choose your manual entry, you probably don't even have to change radios, as it will now show your manual entry on the homescreen instead of My Location. You can probably update then
YOU ROCK
I installed the rom you mentioned so that I could make sure I covered everything...as soon as I did the rom change, the weather updated without issue. Definitely the rom and My Location not playing nice with each other. I can't remember if this radio is the one that came installed with the Tmous update, but I will give it a try. Since you are in Sacto, I will assume it should work favorably for me as I am only 2 hours away in Fresno.
I do know that whatever radio came with the 6.5 update gave me major issues.
I appreciate you taking the time to brainstorm with me...you know the old adage of KISS...keep it simple stupid...the one place I never considered looking was in the my locations area of the settings.
Again I thank you for your time.
PS--if I decide to go back to my old radio, I will try your tip about manually setting everything and updating from the homescreen.
EDIT---DUH, it says right in my siggy what radio version was included in the update...wow I have had a long day and must be even more tired than I first thought!! Changed my siggy and added a note to myself for my swiss cheese brain.
Ok, Let me first say, This website and the people on it have helped me and others so many times. It's a great website with many talented people. However, I know nobody has to help anyone on here, but please listen to this and only help or post something if you have a fix or are having the same problem.
I don't want to sound rude, but I made a thread a while ago and got 9 pages of people saying that "my battery is fine" or people telling me stuff I already know, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE only post if you can help fix the problem or are in the same boat so we can try and get a fix.
Please don't put in the thread " My battery is fine" or "Do a hard reset" even though it seems that is the only way to fix it, I am going to reinstall all of my apps, and its most likely going to happen again.
Background information
I am rooted and running CM6, but have had this problem with the stock ROM, and many other ROMS, doing a hard reset has not helped me in the past, because after restoring my apps, and settings it seems to come back again. I am going to give you as much information as possible to help me with my battery, because I am sure I am not the only one with this problem.
My device
I am rooted and running CM6 and I absolutely love it, it is hands down the best ROM I have used, but I took my phone off the charger, send one text message, loaded up 3 web pages, and refreshed my email, and the battery percentage was down to 93% in 4 minutes of use my battery went down 7%!!!!!!!
I have had this battery drain issue with CM6, Fresh ROM, stock (rooted) rom, and Non-Rooted Stock.
Homescreen
Currently I am using LauncherPro, but ADW.launcher comes with the ROM, and I have had the same problem with that. Here is my setup to show that I am not using any data intensive widgets.
Home screen: besides all of my app icons, I am going to list all of my widgets.
1. Digital Clock Widget-It is a widget that works without an application, but their is an optional application that I don't have installed.

Please if anyone can help fix this I would greatly appreciate it, It may seem that the only fix is the hard reset, but their has got to be some app, or setting that is keeping my phone on or killing the battery, if anyone has found that one of these apps or settings had killed their battery, please share, and we can fix our problem.
Thanks
P.S. My battery was at 93% at the beggining of this post, and the screen was on for about 6 minutes total so I can list all of the apps and settings and its npw at 85%
install setcpu, underclock the processor, have it @ 245mhz when screen is off
make sure you are signed out of google talk and go in to settings to uncheck auto sign in since doing that its taking a load off my battery .
also underclocking when screen is off helps alot use wifi when you can or just turn off the data to save loads of battery juice
also are you running the RC1 or a nightly ?
newest nightly is doing very well on the battery hit 19 hours so far with 18% juice left
Your time without signal is 40%, so you are going to get the battery drained.
TWS is your problem and that will not change on any rom.
Now, your PRI is going to be locked in because you are rooted. So maybe a new PRI (no way to update now that you are rooted we are stuck) could possibly help with TWS.
Another thing I know I mentioned in the other post. Do a fresh install and don't install any apps. Just use the phone. If that makes a difference, than it is an app causing your problem.
Eliminate all possibilities until you have a solution.

yea just read that TWS is kill a battery quick !
kill the data when your in a building or areas that will make the data work harder
ALSO is any of the apps your running from a 2.1 backup ? if so that could be it too i had major battery troubles with my 2.1 back ups on 2.2
Go to running processes under settings>applications, see how many are running...if you have more than 5 running processes at a time.
.your battery will suffer. Use startup auditor to prevent apps processes not in use from starting on boot
you may want to check that your default PRL is set for cdma and not gsm.
there is a post in the dev forum about it.
you will need your MSL number, get it from sprint customer service or use cdma workshop trial. I've used both, I recommend calling sprint its fast and free.

i have my msl can you link that info please
The PRL shouldn't be an issue with the Evo. That was some type of hero 1.6 bug.
Also, I don't think the data codes work with Froyo.
You can try to download the "Network" app from the market and see if that works.
I was having a battery drain issue ever since 2.2
I think I have it fixed now though. First up. Did you wipe everything in between ROMS? I know this is redundant. But it is important, many custom ROMS have several cache, memory writing and reading tweaks applied and if the phone needs a fresh start from every angle to really utilize it all.
Honestly, the "drops to 93% without barely doing anything!!" Sounds perfect in line. As soon as the phone is done charging it will start using the battery again UNTIL it drops to 90% and then it will charge it up again. All the while saying "fully charged" I've read that on several threads. And after the initial 10% it should stabilize. If it doesn't after that, then there is a problem. You said you where 40% without signal? That seems high.
There is a thread about how these, and most other Android based phones on CDMA mobile providers have a bug that default to GSM searching, so while its looking for a signal. Its primarily looking for a GSM tower, and secondarily a CDMA. In the phone dialer, type *#*#4323#*#* (I think, please correct be someone if this isn't it) in there, scroll down and you'll see a drop down menu and it will say CDMA (auto) which is the bug. Press menu, then press "Select Radio Band" it'll FC which is normal. Noe look at the drop down menu. It will say GSM (auto). Change this back to CDMA (auto) and exit.
I know by doing this when I first got my phone that my battery life, while the phone is asleep, where way better!!
UPDATE: ignore most of that, sorry. Forgot you said you where on CM6 which is froyo, you'll need to use CDMA workshop to fix that as the code no longer works.
Hope that at least helped you out. I know the pain of fast battery drainage recently. Right now, after moderate usage and 4hrs off the charger I'm at 75%. that is with 4G on with weak signal. Some texting, and web surfing. And Taptalk this whole post. Lol.

All that previous advice about data usage, tws, or anything related to battery drain while the phone is idle with the screen off is bologna.
Lower the brightness of the screen by about one half of automatic brightness and underclock the cpu to about 245-507.
The phone will still be very usable, while the battery drain while actively using the phone should about half.

Thanks everyone so much, I will try all of these things.
By "kill the data" What do you mean?
When I was using a ROM with Sense installed their was a setting called enable always on mobile data, which basically allowed you to turn 3G and 2G off, when the phone was not on, however I can't find anything like that with this ROM.
So if you could elaborate on how to kill the data apps, that would be great, it sounds like that might be it.
And no when I first flashed CM6 it was the first 2.2 ROM, so I got all of my apps from the market, I didn't restore them from 2.1
And to the person asking if I am running the nightly or RC1, haha I don't know the difference.
I cleared all of my data, and was running a rooted stock rom, then flashed the CM6 "latest ROM" from the ROM page on 7-28, then on 8-7 their was a nightly that was 8-08 and I installed that. The mod version I have in settings is NIGHTLY-N1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6780201&postcount=6
When I typed in *#*#4323#*#* in the dialer, after pushing the last * the (*#*#4323#*#*) that I had just put in would disappear and not take me to the menu, although I do know what your talking about. Can someone confirm if this is the correct code?
Edit, thanks to person above me
its Dial *#*#4636#*#*
when I did that and go to Phone info, and scroll down to set preferred network type it was on CDMA auto (PRL)
However under the IMEI, phone number, current network, is says network type CDMA EvDo rev. A
and 2 lines above that says GSM service: In service
Than on the bottom is says GSM Disconnects: ======DATA======
state: DcActice State connected at 3:11 AM and elapsed 14:12:24 and then is gives me an address, gateway, and DNS code.
This may sounds stupid, but should that be changed to CDMA only, maybe the PRL auto setting is still looking for a GSM network, because it says GSM: in service.
Thats proly not it, just wondering?

NEws and weather-genie refresh service

it sounds like these 3 don't even need to be running, I can go without the digital clock widget, who know, maybe thats trying to update or somethin, astro is a file manager, Ill switch to another file manager, and voicemail
THATS from the 2.1 ROM !! maybe thats what it is, Because even though I don't have a voicemail every hour I will get a notification saying new voicemail dial *86 and when I would do that It says virgin mobile or somethin and doesn't let me listen.
I am gonna delete astro, digital clock, and the 2.1 voicemail, and reinstall the 2.2 sprint voicemail.apk and report back.

interesting....
Let me start this question with a big thanks to all the developers/etc. out there. The work being done is AMAZING!
I am a new "rooter", but learning fast. I am running Cyanoginger 1.1 on my MT3GS. I have noticed a few things that aren't quite right, and I am unsure if they are related to each other, or to Cm 6.1.1, or ~ginger 1.1, or...
1. Incoming phone calls seem to sporadically go to voicemail instead of the phone. My phone can be sitting on my desk with full bars, I'll call my phone from my desk, it'll ring once or twice and jump to voicemail (nothing shows up on the MyTouch). I'll call again 10 seconds later, and it goes to my phone. Very sporadic (maybe 1 in 20 calls?)
2. My phone number shows Unknown in Settings > About phone > Status. I read in a few forums that this may be the case untill you place/receive a call, but mine is still showing unknown.
3. My market purchases are no longer integrated with carrier billing. It's asking for a credit card instead of automatically billing me at T-Mobile.
Like I said, I'm a noob at rooting/modding, but I learn quick Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated!

The unknown number thing has to do with cm6.1.1. It shouldn't affect you anyway. For the first issue, probably t-mobile issue, neither your phone nor your ROM. Happens to me on all my phones, even my dumbphones.
The market thing is something that you give up when you flash a custom ROM. I think there might be something that can tie market to your tmobile account, but I can't find it again, it was mentioned in a thread recently.
Thanks for the quick response!
On points 2 and 3, I guess that's just the way it is. Little things, I can definitely deal.
On the first point, I just want to make sure this isn't happening because of how I flashed new roms, or how I upgraded the radio, etc.
FWIW, here's the process I used:
- rooted phone with adb/file copy, etc., etc.
- booted to ESPRIMG.zip (oops, rebooted, no backup of system!)
- booted to Clockwork
- cleared data, cleared cache, flashed CM 6.1.1, flashed gapps, rebooted
- went back to clockwork flashed radio from 7.07.(????) directly to 7.09.35.10, rebooted
- "stumbled" across Cyanoginger 1.1...
- booted to Clockwork, cleared data, cleared cache, flashed to Cyanoginger 1.1
The phone prior to rooting never had any issues receiving calls, but who knows, maybe it's because I'm staring at it, maybe it's solar flares, maybe I've angered the cell phone gods...ok, humor's "off" a bit today
If you have any further thoughts, let me know; otherwise thanks for your help! I really appreciate it!
Yeah that all sounds right. I haven't ever had issues with my phone number showing up, it seems to only happen to some people, and like you said, normally it goes away after placing or receiving a call. Who knows. I don't think it affects any apps though. I could be wrong about that, not sure. It might be your sim card, which would explain some calls not going through as well.
I know there is a way to tie the market to your t-mobile account, I just can't remember at the moment. I googled around, couldn't find anything. I think it's called market fix or something rather. I could be thinking of something else though. Frankly I like paying with my debit card better, it was never a huge deal for me, so I never thought too much into it.

I know exactly what you're talking about... I just can't seem to find it either. It was in a thread recently, like you said.
Maybe it's just vanished
I'm gonna keep searching though.
EDIT: So I was starting to flip out, cause I could not for the life of me find the thread...
But I decided to go to my phone and see if maybe I could just find the app in the market. Then I saw that I had already searched for it before, because I actually have the same issue. I just never downloaded it and tested it out.
It's called "Market Enabler"
I'm going to download it now and test it myself.
EDIT 2: Or maybe that's not it. I don't know, I can't seem to figure it out. Maybe MusicMan can take a look? I could have sworn this was an app suggested for that, but it just looks like it makes it so you can see apps that aren't on certain carriers.

Well, I "stumbled" across the solution to #2. As far as I've heard from others so far, it's purely cosmetic, but...
Go to Settings > Call Settings > Additional Settings > My phone number and enter the number. Now when you go to Settings > About phone > Status it will show the number you entered.
Again, this may be purely cosmetic, and I've noticed if you reboot, the setting gets wiped. Strange...but there you go...
Sorry to bring up this issue back up but I just recently Rooted my phone as well and am having the same problem with sporadic calls not coming to my phone.
For example, last night my father told me that he tried to call me at least 3 times in a row and it would go straight to voicemail, however today he called me (like 2 mins ago) and the phone rang as normal. Heres what I've noticed on the phone:
-the phone will drop all bars sporadically for no apparent reason, as I have never had any service issues in my house.
-it does this when its been idle for a couple of minutes and as soon as I wake it up it will show 0 bars then jump to the normal 2-3 I usually get at my place.
-whenever the bars drop to 0 my 3g/HSPA service will still show as normal
I'm not completely new to Rooting (Rooted my original G1), however my last experience with it was back on CM4.1 on my G1, so there may be a o couple of things I missed
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi, I've a similar problem: on outgoing calls anyone on any phone is able to see my number, they always get calls from "unknown" from my phone. I use wolfbreak's rom with cyanogen and I've allready set in the settings the option to show my number on outgoing calls, but doesn't work. how can I do?

About a week ago my phone started downloading 'something', about 80 megs of something, every night. It must happen in the middle of the night, I've never been awake to witness it happen. When I look at my phone in the morning I have no system messages, nothing indicated in download manager, basically no hint that anything had happened. I would not have noticed had I not been checked my data usage with my provider.
3G Watchdog attributes it to "Downloads / Media Storage / DRM Protected Content Storage / Download Manager". I have no idea what is afoot here. I don't remember much changing in the last week except for the Market update that was pushed out. No ROM changes or anything radical like that.
Look for advice how to isolate this and make it stop.
HTC Desire Z running Gingervillain 1.5
Thanks in advance.
There's nothing like a podcatcher that runs at night? Or maybe updates? Hmm...
Not that I am aware of. And I hoped that 3G Watchdog would tell if that was the case (I only installed it last week, to try and sort out this problem.)
I have my market updates set to manual. I'm not subscribed to any media services as far as I know. And this is the same amount of data every night. Is there any possibility I'm received an OTA Android update or something that my phone doesn't know what to do with?
I tried *#*#4636#*#* but could not figure out how to get any bandwidth usage stats out of it, so for now this is all the detail I have.

Thanks, good idea. I just did a complete search via USB connection (I assume this only checks the SDCARD and not the phone's internal memory?) and I can't find anything new from the last few days. There were no new media files except for a few photos I had taken, and no large system files or anything I couldn't explain.
It definitely doesn't seem like I'm lost 80 megs of storage every day, I probably would have noticed that (maybe.)

Only thing I can think then is to check your sync settings and make sure all the apps you've installed since this has happened are from trusted sources (a few botnets have shown up in Android recently); that and go through your list of installed apps to see if there's anything there that you didn't install (note: there is a rogue app that is listed as 'System' but doesn't have the default Android system icon out there).
Does the app that caught this distinguish (damn, how do you spell that word?) between something actually being downloaded and just general network traffic? Your device may just be hammering the towers for a better signal or something like that.

Actually, there's a means to do this in Spare Parts
Dial *#*#4636#*#* (or launch Spare Parts if you have it installed)
Click Usage Statistics
Click Battery history
Click the Other usage dropdown
Click network usage
Since this is happening at night, you'll need to reboot before bed and then select "since boot" to see what happened overnight.

I just eyeballed all of my applications and I don't see anything I don't recognize. Nothing called System. A few system-ish things where I don't know what they do, but they all have Android icons.
I did have all untrusted applications selected because I installed the Amazon app store a while ago.
The Watchdog app seems to indicate the downloaded data is happening all at once, it's not cumulative data from the day, I can update it real time and see what's happening. Moreover, nothing has changed with my location or phone usage, and I normally would have 1-2 megs of data usage a day tops.
Tonight I will shut of 3G data when I go to bed and I'll see if it generates any kind of warning overnight. Good thing I have a big data plan...
twelvebit, I ran into the same problem you had as my phone was also downloading 80-90 megs data every night for about three days before I noticed it. I also narrowed it down to Download Manager. Another problem I had with it is that it uses a constant data connection at every phone bootup. I had to manually force stop Download Manager at every bootup so that it'll free up the data connection again. I pretty much went through my phone and SD card and there was no new files of any type. I don't use any podcast apps. I also didn't install any new apps before this started. After a couple of days of trouble shooting, I gave up and just did a complete wipe. The phantom data stopped after I reinstalled a new rom and hasn't pop back up since. I was running CM 6.1. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.
I just turn my data off at night because for some reason my phone would do the same. I even got rid of my weather widgets because I couldn't figure the problem out. For weird reason android does that mystery downloading.

So I left data off overnight, and as soon as I turned it back on this AM it immediately did performed the phantom 77 meg download. There was no indication on the phone anywhere that it was downloading anything, it's only because I looked a my usage stats that I saw it happened.
Guess my next step is to wipe...?

Did you go into Spare Parts to see what app was pulling the most data?

I flashed to the nightly cyanogenmod this AM, and in doing so I guess I lost my stats. I've never really used spare parts before. It doesn't look like "the" download has been attempted since I reflashed, but that's typical since it happens once per night.
Right now my biggest network using item is called "0", the others are dialer and android system. What is 0? When I try and select it, spare parts crashes.
Is there a way to get hard numbers out of spare parts, or just the graphs? (it's showing blue and pink bars for each.)

Not sure what '0' is.
Spare Parts just gives you the bar graph but I did another search and found 'Stats' and 'Onavo' in the Market, both should help you find the problemed app. Again, Spare Parts should show it if you reboot before bed and then check it in the morning and narrowing it down by "since boot".
EDIT: I take that back, hit the bar graph in Spare Parts and it gives you the actual data.

Guys, I'm having the exact same problem and I am puzzled why it's happening. I came across something from the droid forum:
In brief, to quote the poster:
I found a thread on the Cyanogenmod forums that supports the idea that while my oldish CM kernel was effectively blocking an OTA from installing, it wasn't preventing it from repeatedly downloading and attempting install. There is an app to fake the fingerprint so an OTA is not even downloaded since it appears to have already been applied. Just installed it so no confirmation of the fix yet, but I should know in a day or so. I'd pretty much concluded that the issue was an OTA since it was always coming via 3G even when I was at home with Wifi on. If it had been a misbehaving app, it would have originated on the phone and would have used Wifi. An OTA originates from the carrier so always comes via 3G. IMHO.
Any comment?
It's a little too early to declare victory, but last night was the first night on the new ROM and the phone did not do any inexplicable downloading.
If I learn anything else I will post it here for those others who are suffering the same issue.
Get traffic counter. It'll tell you what's using those megabytes. I used almost 1GB on my phone and it was the friend stream app on HTC Sense & Sensation.

Hi all,
I was just wondering why sometimes my signal and WiFi bars turn grey and often can't make/send calls/data. I thought no signal or WiFi was indicated differently, especially since I can get full grey bars I doubt it's a signal problem.
I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean

it means that you are not logged into google services.
and since most of the apps run with google services (stock browser as well), if you are not logged in, they will not response and keep trying.
if somehow u have other browser like dolphin, or firefox, it should still work.

Thanks. Is there anyway you can force it to reconnect? It seems to be happening more and more lately
There isn't a lot you can do if the phone is stock. You can pull the battery often to see if that helps, check your' network settings and make sure that it is all set correctly. Finally master reset and re-log into your' gmail account.
Other option is to unlock the bootloader and root the device:
If you go the unlock/root route I would recommend flashing a custom radio.img file such http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374077
If you need instructions on how to go the root method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352413
In an emergency to un-root the device:

Hope this helps.

I'm already rooted and running the XXIK6 radio. I'll try logging out and back in to see if that helps. Thanks
This happened to me the other day, was so annoying!
Although the blue bars do show whether it's connected to Google services etc, there must be more to it as I couldn't make any calls or anything like that. I went in and out of airplane mode, restarted the phone etc but nothing helped, so I just assumed it was something to do with my network and left it for a while and it sorted itself out in the end.
I have the stock phone. I forced it to see the network by going to Settings, Wireless & Networks, More, Mobile Networks, Network operators. This will force a scan to see what networks are available. Pick AT&T (assuming that who your provider), and it should turn on the Cell Service.
If it does not work, try going to an AT&T owned store and ask for a new Sim Card. (That is what I had to do.) They put it in with no questions, except for marveling at my wonderful SGN. No plan or feature changes happened.
For the Wifi, that is different. Go to Settings, Wireless & Networks, Wifi (and turn it on). You can re-scan for networks anytime. I had 11 networks in range, so it took some looking to find mine. You may need to re-enter the security settings several times to get it right. (Delete old settings by using "forget" below the network you select.) Once it works, it should keep on working with no further adjustments, at least mine does that.
When signals are seen, the grey icons will show blue as a signal strength. (I'm not sure they are accurate.)
Good luck.
All extremely overkill methods...
I used to get this sometimes on all of my Android devices. Simple way to sort it out and sign back in? Your data/wifi is still active - just open Google Talk, go to the list of contacts on it (not in a message, as in you've just signed in) and it'll connect and sync itself straight away... 10 second job, no need to pull out a battery, flash random things, or anything else.
^ this. I just was going to write the exact same thing. Just open up gtalk and you are golden.

Here! Here!
I was pretty shocked to see the suggested methods previous to Gtalk...
If anyone else knows a better way, please share!
Best method is to sort through the code and fix the problem, unless you are all on at&t (which you're not) which would suggest a network issue. However, I have used nearly every android device available...even a few I'm not very proud of. I have never had this issue. My point is Google talk may work and be helpful, but its not a solution/fix.

It's happened to me a couple of times so clearly not just AT & T nor even just the USA. I waited it out, next time I'll try the Google talk method (not sure if it'll work, Google Voice not currently available in Aus.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm on O2 in the UK, so it isn't just a States issue as Clancy is experiencing it in Australia too.
I've narrowed it down today though. I've noticed that I only get grey bars when connected to WiFi, and sometimes even then I can't make/receive calls. Pretty much as soon as I disconnect the WiFi and get connected to the mobile network I get reconnected to Google's servers and the bars turn blue again. Weird.
