APP To Move Internal APP To System?
i understand this can be done manually by adding the apk to system but oxygen 2.2.2 does not let me do this (no paste option in system folder with astro.
titanium always crashes on my oxygen 2.2.1 when converting to system app
any ideas?
Try Root Explorer.
But remember, that you have to be S-OFF, otherwise it won't work.
(or you can try the ADB in recovery way, if you are S-ON).
I already told you earlier... Move apk's before flashing to the ROM .zip file or use titanium backup pro (you cannot do it with free version)

juwe ram script not working for me

i have htc wildfire 2.2.1 stock rom with nFinity.kernel_mc2. i have tried to install juwe's ram script via rom manager but i dont see the folder or script in root explorer. i have also tried to create a new folder within root explorer to install manually but i get a warning saying "you cannot create a new folder here because the file system is read-only" any clues? thank you
On mine at the top where it tells you if system is r/o or r/w there's a button next to it that says mount r/w or mount r/o.

System Read Write permissions

I am trying to copy a new boot animation to the system folder using root explorer. Root explorer has super user, I am S-off, root explorer showing r/w and still I am getting cent copy because the folder is read only error. I am running Swagged out latest Rom. Any help as to what the problem is?

It's a two step process. First the file manager needs root access. Second, the root system needs to be mounted so that the file manager can write to it. Otherwise, eventhough the app has root access, the system files remain in a read only state.

[Q] Can't edit system files .

I'm using ARHD 19.2 with Solid Explorer . I can't mount r/w using Solid Explorer . I tried Root Explorer , mounted as r/w , edited the file's permission to rw-rw-rw and edited the files inside . After reboot , it all just resets back to default . Any help ?
What files are you trying to edit? For files inside /sys directory you should make an init.d script

Rooted, yet unable to....

I'm now rooted using CF method, no custom recovery though. I want to remain stock. But, one of the primary reasons I went ahead and rooted is so that I can get rid of the 2 horrible power on & off sound files. Is it just me or do you also find those completely obnoxious and loud??
Anyhow, here's the problem:
I've located the 2 files (poweron.ogg and poweroff.ogg). I don't want to delete them, I just want to rename them so they are in essence "hidden" and can't be called, therefore keeping my sanity everytime I shutdown or startup. But when I try to rename (I've now tried ES file explorer and Astro - both to no avail) the files, I get a permission denied or some other message saying the file is write-protected and I'm unable to rename or delete.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
You need to make the folder r/w (read/write) instead of r/o (read only). You should have that option in all root explorer software.
Install es file explorer, press the menu button and then root explorer. Then from there go to mount read/write and change the system checkbox to r/w. Now you should be able to mod the files.
