I'm not on MetroPCS but I am on Boost Mobile and I've been in your situation where I was getting 1X speed and getting pissed off because I couldn't get 3G while others were. What I would do if I were you is flash a sense 2.2 rom or a sense rom with the old EPST.apk in it and start flashing different metropcs PRLs and just different PRLs in general and see what works in your area.
Check out this thread and maybe PM one of them and see if they can hook you up with a PRL that works for them and you might get lucky and meet someone that's in the dallas area that has 3G and you might get some help on getting decent 3G speeds....GOOD LUCK!!

i have friends tow using the lg optimus m and they getting 3g as well i was trying to get the setting of one of them using qps but didnt save em mi mistake and afther that i was not able to get it detect on qpst also wee did a prl update over the air and hes phone lost 3g conection due to a prl downgrade intead of upgrade it wen from 3024 to 3019 and because unable to conect to qpst cant load the 3024 so talk to mpsht rep and they dint or cant or want to send the 3024 prl over the air so it get 3g again also i have evo on boost with 3g but my wifwes evo is on mtrp**** hope some one with a lg optimus can share the qpst settings to get 3g using 3024 prl

My phone 3g been going in and out of 1x for the past week. How can I figure out if it's Sprint or my Rom (MikG). Yes I updated the radios to the newer ones and I updated the ##3282# issues and yes its set to automatic. I tried it all. Yesterday while I was calling out it kept saying network busy. How do I figure out my data issues?

It's just the rom showing you what your "true" signal is. The roms previously only showed 3g, even when you were on 1x. Maybe it is an issue with Sprint if it is constantly happening though. Maybe try a new prl thru qpst?
So basically Sprint just sucks in my city.

Very possible. I see it quite a lot also when I'm home (in the boonies).
What city do you live in? Have you tried different roms? I get the 1x in Houston every now and then, only when inside and I'm running kings awesome Rom 7.4t
Helo fella, I wuld like to help to solve one issues with 4g reception, where I lived in city of new york, there already hve 4g what is more that I lived in first floor, in my bedroom and back of alley of apartment in the bronx, I tried to connection t 4g, there is no connect I assume that I have to go outside to get better reception.... I woder what sprint carrier went wrong? Or haven't fixing it? I mostly updated many time with prl and profile what about 4g? Now I using wifi all the way when I m not out

I just went through all the necessary steps to get my shiny new Epic 4G to work on MetroPCS. I realize that LTE 4G wont work because of differing technologies but was willing to settle for 3G.
I got to the metro store to have them add my ESN to their database and they told me they do not have any 3G network whatsoever. Is this true? What is a good course of action here? seems like my only two options are get an LTE phone or try Boost Mobile instead.
My more important question is are these guys yanking my chain to avoid work or sell me something?

3G is only in a few cities and when I say a few I do mean a few that can be counted on one hand I believe. Dallas and Miami I think were of the few that were supposed to recently have reactivated the 3g temporally to relieve some traffic in other areas.
Flash to boost or cricket I was Able to get my Epic on cricket with there 45 dollar plan with working 3g cane it to a lil under 50 a month with taxes

Also are those Metro guys just lazy as hell or can they really not add an ESN to the Metro inventory without flashing it themselves? They claimed that their flashing program did the adding and they had no other way to do it. Sounds like a hard sell or a lazy excuse to me
I would lean more towards they are not as experienced in that area. I think any opportunity to provide a service for a customer within your ability that would lead to the customer returning to receive more services from your store should be an automatic move to make. No brainer. I'm sure if they knew other methods they would.

Im wondering if anyone has discovered hot to link metropcs flashed Evo to 4G speeds or 3G anything faster than 1x??
The Evo uses Clearwire's WiMax network for 4G service, so I doubt you'll be able to get 4G.
What about 3G?

well 3g speeds are governed by your network and 4g speeds wimax.. uses as stated before clear wire service from sprint so basically if metro does not have a 3g network you can't get 3g on your phone and metro only has a 4g LTE network without wimax support your also down in that category i know this because i flashed my old eve to metro for a month and got sick of the damn slow speed so i switched back to sprint thank god i kept my contract with sprint while testing out metro.. but you do get what you pay for ...

Check out JD2589's thread on 3g for metropcs...he has all prls and settings on OP.

i'm in atlanta and i have 3g EVERYWHERE! on my Evo 3d.. i was wondering if 4g would work if i switched to droid RZR or Bionic? since its LTE.

I have a Sprint Galaxy S2 flashed to Metro PCS and everything works GREAT!
EXCEPT 4G... i get good 3G internet but when i try to use 4G it tries to connect to sprint. How can i get my phone to use Metro PCS 4G???

I'm pretty new at all this, but it sounds like a PRL issue...you should have a PRL file that includes the Metro 4G.
Metropcs uses LTE 4g and our phones are Wimax 4g, so sorry but no working 4g on your phone,
There is NO WAY you can get 4g to work...but I'm surprised you got mms working...i have been trying to get mine going...
