I recently got my hands on a computer, I would like to learn how to develop stuff lol. Whether it'd be themes or roms I want to learn. Can anyone provide a tutorial on what programs I'll need and how to use them? I currently have an EVO 4G and I'm keeping it until I upgrade next year. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hello Super Nerds,
I bought a Desire Z 2 months back. And I think I am ready to root her now. I actually been having this mad rush about rooting for quite a while now and want to do it ASAP. My knowledge on this is 0. But been reading about the terminologies and the guides for a few days.
I would appreciate if you can post the link to the latest method to Temp/Perm root here. A very detailed guide preferably.
I ve seen quite a few here but not sure if they are the latest.
Is it even wise for me to attempting it? I would love to give it to a professional for a few bucks but I don't think there are any in India.
Thanks. Any help will be appreciated.
What software version is your dz currently running?
Assuming you are still on a 2.2 rom, this is the best guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision
It's is updated regularly and is very easy to follow.
If you need any help hop over to the #G2ROOT irc channel.

hi i have evo 4g running latest synergy rls1 + godmode and have plenty of paid apps i dwnlded using aptiode and previously i was messing around withtitanium backup trying to get the pro version and stuff and i pressed market doctor or whatever and it made links with the kanged apps and now i want to sever those links...how could i do this?
Xda doesnt condone pirating, so good luck trying to get help.
Developers spend a lot of time and effort creating software for our phones. If you're too cheap to pay $.99-$3.00 for an app then you can find your own help as well. We're not going to help you while you're ripping off the devs here, or anywhere for that matter.

So, I have taken a Web Design course and just invested in Dreamweaver and Photoshop (both CS5.5). I am looking to make a site similar to my guides. Kind of an Incredible 2 reference site. I was wondering what things you guys would like to see in this type of site. Thanks.
All your guides you made, and a forum like setup for anyone who doesn't understand them completely as well as other walkthroughs and general android news. Also see about making it tapatalk compatible.
That would a lot of help, to noobs and a directoryof dinc2 info.

Well I have no idea about tapatalk and forums, so I would definitely need some help with that.

I actually think there are enough Dinc2 forums out there. I'd personally be more interested in a nice, neat maintained list of ROMs, tutorials, and resources. Info tends to get buried in forums, especially for a noob.

Guys, I am working on the site, but I need help with a name. I originally came up with "HTC Resources" but then I might get into copyright issues, and make it seem like I am affiliated with HTC. Any ideas for good names?
Vivowmania.
Hah I dunno I suck at stuff like that.

Well, the site barely has anything done so far, because I've scrapped stuff several times, but I like where it's going now. The name I have decided on is:
quietly rooted: make the most out of your HTC phone
Man I had the same idea as for making a reference site for the phone. Would you mind if I linked you're guides in it? You wrote up some good stuff that's helpful.
Sure. BTW, I'm done working for the weekend, as I'm having some issues, and I need to talk to someone about it, which I'll do Monday or Tuesday.
Hello,
I've been an Android user for a while, but now I'm actually pretty interested in learning to become either a dev or a themer, but I don't really know too much about any of the languages or anything.
Is there anyone who would be willing to help me learn? It's something that I'm very interested in doing, and willing to dedicate a lot of time into it.
If you're interested in seeing my only theme I've made (which is for Go Launcher EX) you can check it out on the Facebook page: Droid Fans (free download too)! I would post it here but I don't have enough posts.
Thanks!
Honestly, you really don't need someone to teach you. There is a wealth of information, guides and tutorials here at xda and on the web. The android development site is a great place to start. All it takes is a true desire to learn.

I don't have, unfortunately, much experience with Android development (I do, however, have experience in general software development), but I'd be very glad to help get this thing rooted in any way I can.
So basically you got a lurker here with a brand new tab 3, wanting to lend a hand.
