Hi folks, how is every one?
I have been tinkering with the Polymod Eclair on my Kaiser (running via the SD card).
I have it all running but I have a few questions.
1. If I allow my phone to go in to standby/sleepmode when I press the power button to get the screen up again all I get is a screen full of vertical green lines (with a few other colours here and there) and my phone does not respond. I have to reboot the phone to be able to do anything with it.
Any Ideas as to a solution?
2. When I go into the settings for the mobile networks it doesn't come up with my one (Three (3) or Hutchinson Mobile if you prefer).
is this something to to with it being a 3G service or something?
3. How do I get the screen lock working on Android (if there is one), I cant sem to find it?
4. Should I be able to turn the screen of like you can in Windows CE?
Hope I haven't bombarded and bored you to much with my many questions.
Thank you as always for your hard work.
Steve
You can find the answers to all these questions by searching the polymod thread. Please do not start a new thread for an existing topic.
Don't forget to read the FAQ and Tutorials, I have linked to all of them so you wouldn't have to ask.
Thanks for trying my build!

Hi all, for all the people like me who do not have the patience or knowledge do adventure themselves in the mitty thread.
This program already exists for X1, HD2, TP2 (for what I know) and I have tested it and it works.
After some search on this forum I have talked to agent_47, who was kind enough to make a task29 program for our HTC Diamonds (GSM version).
Agent_47 or me do not take any responsibility for ay damage done to your device. Use it at your own risk, and only after you have HSPL already installed on your device.
Do not know what a HSPL is, check here:

now we can mtty our "HTC Diamond" without having the need of MTTY and its drivers
INSTRUCTIONS:
- download and unzip
- run then ROMUpdateUtility.exe and wait for it to finish.....
- device will reboot but will neva go past the bootscreen coz there is no OS to boot
- take our batti and then flash a rom using mSD card or by taking device into bootloader and using customRUU to load ur favorite ROM
DOWNLOAD:

WHATS TASK29\MTTY
when u flash a rom, you are copying files onto the internal memory (like duh!) but if u repeatadly flash different roms, sometimes files from older version stays behind as when u flash a rom, you just copy and sometimes overwrite files without deleting the older ones. hence at times these older files may create bugs\instability. hardrest donot always fix it.so we use MTTY
but the thing is, mtty is and can be hard to use for new users. ... for me,, i was having the worst time installin the drivers needed to run mtty on win7 x64. so u i made this tool for me and for all

and I would add to agent_47, as he adapted this tool for the HTC Diamond
Did anyone tried this?
What's the verdict?
mmm. interesting.
Thanks for the share and all your hard work but this is actually harder than mitty for me and i am a windows 7 user also

I do not understand how this is possible, I am using Vista and this is as easy as flashing a ROM with a computer. You just connect the device via USB to the Diamond, let active sync finish. Then you just need to run "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" and follow the instructions.
I have tested this, and I can confirm this is working for the European HTC Diamond (bought in Portugal).
This was not made by me, but I do think that more people will benefit with this program. Hopefully people will overcome the initial resistance to change.
Great idea!
I used to MTTY through VMWare Windows XP x86 within my host Windows 7 x64. It was a pain in the ass to get though but it always worked for me. This is a great time saver!
Regards to both of you Johev and agent_47!
Willing to test on my next flash.
Best regards,
Cina.

What do you mean? take out battery?
Gonna try this with my next flash
Yeah, the sentence is a bit odd to me to
i asume it means take out battery but still..
i'm not gonna try it until i know it for sure!
--edit--
i couldn't help it and used it anyway..
i assumed "take our batti" means take out battery cuz it worked for me!
my diamond was clean (i guess) and i'm now enjoying a new rom!
Thanx guys!!
I would never post something that I did not test first.
I am glad that you liked it, and I really think it is much simpler then the mitty thread.
Good luck flashing.

I LOVE THIS TOOL
this isn't good for my ORD.. i'm flashing the hell out of my diamond now!
Getting a HD2 in about a month.. can't wait for it ;D
I tried it, but I only get the start screen with "Touch diamond", no bootloader.
But I´ve installed HARDSPL Olinex, because I already flashed other ROM´s.
How can I solve this problem?
What about battery? When I have to get it out, when I can put it in again...?
fibula
to get into bootloader you have to reset your device while holding the volume down button!
then you will get the tri-color screen,
connect your diamond to your pc and flash a rom with a RUU!

To get into bootloader with my diamond:
1) Turn Diamond off, take out battery for 5 seconds.
2) Put battery back inside, and press and hold the centre button (circle) and turn ON the device (hold both buttons) until you see a 3 colour screen
If step 2 does not work, try pressing holding volume down while turning the device on (hold the ON button too). Remember to take out the battery before you do this.
Hope this helps.
Hi!
Does this work by simply copying any ROM's nbh file (instead of radio*.nbg) to folder and executing ROMUpdateUtility.exe? Will it MTTY before flashing the ROM?
Currently I'm trying this method out. It is around at 50% of flashing progress.
I'll report back.
Cina.
thanks a ton dude.... magnificent work...
Now if there were only a way to do it directly from Internal Storage, without RUU...
It does not work the way I described. It hangs on HTC Diamond black boot screen and no red lines appears in lower right corner (no OS recognized).
So you have to flash 2 times. Radio flash is shorted for the first attempt and on the second turn you flash your ROM with CustomRUU.
There is a similiar tool like this with the method working with other devices I described above. FlashaholicRUU. Someone give it a try for Diamond. Next week I'll do it and report back.
Cheers,
Cina.

I remember to see that post on xda developers front page short time ago, but I was not sure if it would work for HTC Diamond.
A universal task29 that would format and flash the device in one single process.
Ironically it was developed a few weeks after I have found an alternative way to mitty that I posted here.
So far I did not hear that it was compatible with Diamond, so I will not risk it.
It's nice to have all these options, because when I searched for something like this a few months ago, I could only find the mitty threat that has more than 80 posts.
For me it was strange as newer devices with very similar hardware and software already had something like this, but Diamond users had to use mitty.
Well I am glad that you like it, and hopefully I helped someone that was not able or willing to do it manually.
My G2 will not shut down completely when connected to a charger. Instead, it shuts down and reboots into recovery. If I were to shut it down while not connected to a charger then it would shut down and stay shut down like normal. I'm using cyanogenmod 6.1.1 and running the lucid theme by sonnysekhon. I've deleted applications such as dev tools, spare parts, dsm audiomanager, and rom manager through titanium backup as I am pretty minimalistic. Can anybody give me insight on my problem please? thanks.
This has been answered a thousand times before, it is a bug in ClockWorkMod Recovery, so if you have ClockWorkMod Recovery which you do and so do all of us, anyone with a rooted Htc Vision has this issue, not really a big issue, and dont know if it will ever get fixed. Has something to do with HTC not having to release the code for there recovery, since its proprietary.
A simple search of the forum would have given you the answers you are looking for, I just did a quick search and found all these threads on the same issue, please use the search button and help control the amount of redundant threads:

This is a known issue with ClockworkMod Recovery (do a search---this has been asked many times, including a new post just yesterday). You can find more info in the actual ClockworkMod thread, but in short, "the G2 boots into 'recovery' when powered off and charging to show you the charge icon. It's a special mode. This will probably never be fixed, because HTC's recovery code is not open source, so I would not know how to fix it." (Quoted from Koush, who developed ClockworkMod.)
If you don't want this to happen, you will need to go back to the stock recovery.
aaahhh thanks for the quick replies guys.. my apologies..
Hello all,
First I want to express my appreciation for those who take the time to make ROMs for our TF201/300T tablets. Doing just this little task took 3 days of experimenting, I couldn't imagine debugging an entire ROM!
As some of you may know, people with broken touchscreens are getting replacements on eBay that are the wrong version, and are having reverse x-axis issues. The only way this was solved previously was to install Hairybean 2.31 which had the corrected driver and init script to activate it on the install. Unfortunately that meant that we with the wrong screens were stuck on Android 4.2, and what fun is that?
I have figured out and created a new driver for the atmel_maxtouch which will allow you to turn on the reverse axis by echoing 1 to /sys/module/atmel_maxtouch/parameters/reverse_axis. For those without the reverse axis issue, you should be fine, as the reverse axis is only called by the command above.
There's a lot of great ROMs out there, and now those with the different screens can enjoy them too, and all you need is this driver and an init.d script.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need something debugged (though I am not a programmer, so how much I may be able to help will be limited ). The new atmel_maxtouch.c is attached in the zip.
I've added it to KatKernel #19 that will be in the next KatKiss V18
Hi. I have an Asus TF300T with touchscreen issue. It doesn't working even if I replaced it. Maybe the replaced part was the wrong one... Can I do anything? I have JB 4.2.1 with the latest bootloader, root, bootloader unlocked. I flash via fastboot the TWRP recovery but I can't flash or use it because it is only touch usable...so I can't flash Katkiss rom... What can I do?
ADB is active...
Need desperate help with a MediaTek clone of S4
Hi everyone,
I will try and keep it short but last night I was badly scammed by a wonderful specimen of the human race, who wanted to sell his old Samsung S4. Turns out:
1. Its a mediatek clone
2. It has more issues than anticipated but all buttons work.
3. Seem to be soft bricked
Now I am facing nothing but patience to try and fix it. What works:
1. All buttons seem functional.
2. The phone boots into normal mode where I have only empty screen with a Phone app. The Phone app opens I can enter digits but cannot dial.
3. I can reboot into Factory mode - I performed all the tests of the device and all were a PASS. I heard the sounds, checked the cam, everything seems to be perfectly working. Touch scree, camera, sound etc. Even noticed it had FM.
I tried booting in Download Mode - no success. I get the dead Android image and it just hangs there. I can easy reboot though.
My PC recognizes the device and opens a media (empty) device folder.
I tried thus far to use SP Flash but....I dont know how to. Nothing is happening.
Of course I spent 6 hours waiting on different stock ROMs for S4 before realizing its a MediaTek device.
And now, here I am desperately asking if anyone could help me, if there is a chance to remedy that situation of mine. I dont need the phone to do anything special. The closer it is to a Samsung Android ROM - awesome. If its other, I dont mind at all. So long as it works and has access to Google Play Store.
Thank you geniuses and wonderful people for any hint you might have.
Hi
I had a similar issue couple of yrs ago with an S3 clone.
First thing u need to knw is the mtk version, memory details (RAM & ROM) and screen resolution to find a suitable OS version.
If ur lucky, ull get the stock ROM from the manufacturer on Google or else ull hafta search on xda, needrom, or the Chinese forums. Most of such devices don't have a lot of development so ull hafta port ROMs so a custom recovery will b helpful
Hope these points help

Ok.
So I need:
Device RAM
Device ROM
Mtk Version
I think I can extract these from the Factory Mode. Will check.
Then I need to get the stock ROM (hopefully) or search for a custom ROM. (Manufacturer I suppose we talk about MediaTek and not Samsung?)
Custom Recovery - yeah, usually this is the first thing I install but how do I do this on a cloned mtk? I suppose ODIN wont work. Can you lastly point me to a link or name of software to use instead of ODIN? (or will it work with ODIN?)
