[Q] Someone HELP Please? ROOT PROBLEM - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

So I rooted the Epic 4g Touch, Then Flashed this PDA via ODEN
[Kernel]ZedomaxEpicTouchKernel[v3][1.6GhzOC][Quadrant 4500+][SU3][CWM]
then I was getting LOS every 10 minutes so I PDA via ODEN
[ACS][Kernel][Odin] eg30Plus Stock, CWM5 and Plus Tweaks (No root & No BB)
then when my phones screen goes off, sometimes when you hit the power key to turn the screen back on, nothing happens and I have to completely restart the phone each time. So then I tried flashing PDA via ODEN
[ACS][Odin]Stock EG30 Deodexed with Root 3.0/Busybox 1.18.4
Still got the same issue as above! So I flashed back PDA via ODEN
[Kernel]ZedomaxEpicTouchKernel[v3][1.6GhzOC][Quadrant 4500+][SU3][CWM]
All I want is a kernal that doesn't have LOS or problems. How would one get a fresh clean slate? As by flashing all of these I think something is now messed up in the phone?

Your post belongs in Q&A section. Not is development section.

Yes please post this in Q&A. I know this is development question but it is still a question. However, Odin this and you should be fine. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1273647. If not do a factory reset and that should fix it.

Try this..

[Q] Epic 4g softbrick?

Well guys, this is a tricky one. I recently tried to flash the frankenstein 2.2 in cwm 3, but I didnt use odin b4 since i am a noob to the epic. I had a hero, and had gingerbread, so I thought i had experience, but i guess i don't. When I rebooted, I got stuck at the Samsung logo with samsungmobile.com underneath. I used odin after many flash attempts of frankestein, then flashed frankenstein again after odin. I performed many wipes of everything, but the booting process of the phone is just taking too long. I do not think it will boot, so I take out the battery, reflash, and the booting problem occurs again! Please help me revert to stock, or any kind of rom! I tried the backup b4 cwm3, but it still lags! Help me
How can I revert to stockkkk...
It can take a while (like over 5 minutes) for a fresh rom to load. If you waited more than 10 minutes, then you may have an issue. Just follow the 'Odin sock flashing' instructions in the Epic 4G wiki. The wiki is a sticky in the q&a section. Step 5 says to place the di18 tar in the pda section but you can use any of the stock roms from the wiki.

[Q] Little help please. I beg of you!

Ok, so first I would like to say 'Hey' and I hope some your great minds can help me out.
I rooted my phone yesterday with instructions found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1277000
Everything worked fine. I then downloaded wifi tethering app and my wireless tether worked perfectly. Later on I decided to download Metamorph and busybox to try and modify some things. I noticed that I would have to download themes so I uninstalled both. Next I restarted my phone and when it came back on my internet and wifi were not connecting to anything. I tried messing with the wireless settings but to no avail. This morning both were not working still so I factory restored my phone from the settings tab. But now when I restart my phone it shows the samsung gs2 logo then goes to the "android" letters and it shuts off. I am still able to get into the download mode (power + vol down) but am not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be appreciated.
Iv'e been researching all morning and I think I just have to re-root with a stock kernel? Please someone help this poor noob.
Have you tried to odin back to stock? Go to dev section and start from there. good luck.
I'm on a mac and used heimdall to flash the inital root because I thought ODIN was only for windows.
Anybody...?
I would just reflash the rom i am on currently and then restore my titanium backup.
after a complete wipe of course.
Thanks. But even after re-flash to stock the Sprint 4G logo comes up and just keeps reloading.
then i would follow the halojinx's idea and flash the stock .tar file.
Iv'e got the stock tar and pit file from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351761
but when I place them in Heimdall it doesn't recognize the tar file.
This is miserable. I can't be the only mac user that has had this problem...

[Q] I don't think it's bricked; you tell me...

Performed rooted ROM steps [epictouch4groot.com], everything worked fine except WiFi. So of course, had to keep going.
Rolled back to stock ROM, still the same: Everything worked but WiFi.
Kept tinkering: Calkulin wipe, then Starburst...Now hangs at Boot Screen (displays 'Samsung GALAXY SII' for infinity.) I've wiped data/cache, wiped Dalvik, (several times). I can still push ROMs via SDCard and Odin (stock rom, back to Starburst, and even one with CWM5) but with same result.
What's next?
Thanks anyone for your help.
If WiFi doesn't work even after an odin reset, it might be a hardware issue. :/ best bet is to odin back to stock EG30 and take it to sprint.
Actually hang on, did you odin EVERYTHING (modem, kernel, rom) back to stock or just the rom? And is it no wifi or stuck on bootscreen after the odin?
and, check your router at home, to make sure thats not the problem...unless of course your wifi doesn't work anywhere else too.
I think you jinxed me, my wifi doesn't work now either..I turn it on, it scans and finds nothing and turns off again. X.x"

That's exactly what mine was doing as well (quick scan, then shuts off), but now it will not boot at all. So original problem was no wifi; now it will not boot at all (but I can still flash it via Odin or Recovery Mode.)
When you ask, "did you odin EVERYTHING (modem, kernel, rom) back to stock or just the rom?"
Not sure, I guess just the kernel. I've been flashing only this file to get it to stock: acs-eb30-stock-kernel-pulled.tar What else would I need to do to completely re-stock it?
Thanks for the help all.
FIXED...

Got it fixed. Performed a FULL stock wipe via odin. Phone is back to pre-sprint update, but wifi is working.

Soft Bricked Epic 4g Touch

I am running factory mode el29 and it keeps resetting on me when i do random things like messaging or browsing the internet. I will automatically get an instant reset when i press my power button more than once when i try to put it in stand by mode. I tried jigging it many times but my phone has never accept it. I've only successfully used my jig one time and that's about it.
Anybody have an suggestions? I have a SquareTrade warranty but thats the last thing i want to do. Any suggestions would be nice thank you
It's funny because I soft bricked last night.. But the information I'm about to provide, it may be a shorter easier route but I will just state what I did
I got into odin mode
Once I was in odin mode I connected my phone to my pc.. Let drivers install and my phone was recognize
I had a sfhub one click package (el29 stock rooted) used that.. Phone reset and I was stock rooted again
After that I ran the el29 cwm option from the epic 4G Touch package
Now I wanted to get back to ICS..
So I got into clockwork mod recovery
Flashed Rujelus format x2 zip (calkuins works as well)
Restored my Nandroid (or you can flash a rom(
Before I rebooted I flashed a ics kernel and then rebooted my phone and I'm back running the Blu Kuban.. No issues

[Q] Phone powering up and sound but no screen after UnRooting Sprint SGS3

So I've torn apart the forums trying to find something to solve this problem to no avail for the SGS3's. To explain whats going on with the phone the phone will go into download mode it will go into recovery i used Team Epics Sprint SGS3 Stock Restore i would include link but as me being a new member I'm not privileged to that ability. I used Odin3 v3.07 which is the only thing so far as i can tell contributed to the problem. The Phone rebooted before it went to pass and the box turned blue and said reset. but now if i just try to regularly power up the phone the Samsung and SGS3 splashes show the phone then does the sound for the Sprint splash but the screen for it is totally shut off not even back lit and the led pluses blue and stays there.
Just would like to know if anyone has experienced this problem and if so knows how to fix it or can atleast get me pointed in the right direction
So do you still have a custom recovery? It sounds like somewhere along the way the stock rom wasn't restored completely/properly
Try rooting again by using Team Epics root from recovery or some any other method you're comfortable with and flash the stock restore again
Or just directly try doing the stock restore once again, but search and make sure the version of ODIN you're using is the most recent

Like CNexus said, the stock tar might not have been completely installed, possibly the boot file as that was my case, so try it again. You are free to use your file but the stock tar that I've used previously that worked for me can be found at http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...-30-2012-sprint-only-unroot-return-stock.html
Thanks for the infos guys im not sure if that was the situation or not... i went back to odin 3.04 so it would fully flash before autobooting and i used the files directly from Samsung and got it working just fine.. it was my hail marry thankfully it worked.
