Has anyone made a sense 3.0 camera app for an unrooted evo? I searched only saw for rooted phones. Is there one out there for unrooted phones or is it not possible?
TommyTomatoe made one that installs to /data like any apk. Its near the end of the thread about the sense 3.0 camera. I can upload to dropbox if you can't find it.
I recently used a sense 1.0 ROM for just a minute, and if I remember right, it wouldn't show up in app drawer no matter how I tried to install it. I think sense 1.0 may not have proper framework for it. So root isn't the issue, but sense version may be (which you can only change with root)

Thank you I could not find the non rooted version. No what version of sense does the evo have?

Non root sense is 1.0. Dunno if it'll work on that. Give it a try

Since I'm stuck with the non rooted 2.2 software, I seriously want to remove the evo phone.apk, its horrible....I miss the nexus one phone apk. and the easier features and better caller id picture as well...any alternatives for a non rooted phone???...thanks
I don't believe so. That's a system app and you would need read and write capabilities to modify or remove it.

A opinion would be "Dialer One" in the market. Just Suggestion.
Stock Dialer?
Isn't there a way to install the stock froyo dialer, it is open source and included in CM6.
And where can I find it??..and will it work on a non rooted 2.2 froyo

hi,
i flashed on my desire z the latest cm-rom. everything is just fine. but I still want to use the service on htcsense.com (track the mobile, write sms etc.)
is this just n apk in the background, or is it more difficult?

Hmm, I would have thought it would be a lot more complicated, needing the whole Sense framework.
Anyone know for sure ?
Actually, all I had to do was register the phone on there website by creating an account with them. Now I can download wallpaper's, ring tones and use all of the other HTC sense features. Works pretty well actually.

What rom are you running?

in the signature is written cm-rom.
but how could you register your phone there? when i connect try to let my phone ring, it says "unable to contact phone"
My question was for utorrent. Im running virtuous and all i had to do was register with htc to use all theyre stuff. I was curious if he was running a non sense rom.

i know you asked him, but i answered for him. take a look at his signature
I'm currently using the virtuos rom with the pershoot kernel.

I just updated today to virtuous 7.3 wich adds the swype keyboard and a whole lot of other tweaks and fixes.

Just to clarify some things utorrent is running a sense rom like myself so we already have all the sense stuff. The OP is running cm so he cant just register like we did. He will need at least some apks probly a lot more then that.

My mistake I misunderstood.

Its not a matter of just installing a certain apk. You need a sense rom which cm is definitely not. If you wanna try sense I recommend trying virtuous.

I am running MikZ 1.1 and wondering if there is a gingerbread keyboard that will work on it since it is running the new Sense? I have tried the standard gb keyboard and it will allow me to install it and it will pull up the keyboard, but when I try to type on it, it force closes.
Any help would be appreciated.
Did u try the one from the market? I hear it's free and people on Warm Z were using it with no issues.

Wow, never even thought to look on the market... worked perfectly, thanks!
I feel like an idiot now, but got the gb keyboard working...
Now, I will just have to pull it off the phone and theme it myself.
No worries, sometimes we check the most logical place last. I have mucho experience with that. Lol

I believe htcsense.com doesnt work for the evo yet.
Yeah I think you need sense 2.0 which officially isn't for the evo yet.

Makes sense I guess. All I get is the dashboard. I am running the new gingerbread 2.1 sense Rom from mom though so I am on a new sense

I uninstalled my downloaded skins and reinstalled them but they still won't show up, and to add insult to injury pdaNet is no longer working for me. I'm starting to wish I had rooted instead, now I can only wait until some one puts out a root for DI2 GB. :/
Ya, I've tried reinstalling them and still nothing...

The new ota update is sense 2.1 not 2.0 like we had. Search forums for those and download. Idk why theyre different but they are

Good to go, ill try that.

I'm having the same issue. I'm on the GB OTA update, and non of the Sense 2.1 skins are working for me no matter what I did.
Search for the thunderbolt GB skins , they work

TB themes ARE indeed working. I've been using ADW EX to deal with this issue, but it's back to Sense for me.
