i need some help. Every time i overclock the cpu to play some games i realize that it stays at the max. But after awhile of playing it will underclock its self to the lowest speed possible thus hanging my games or making it lag tremendously.
I tried it without playing games and it will automatically underclock its self also. i am using the daemon controller and the wake up is set at performance but it still drops to the lowest. I am on cool3D aceS ROM and the latest Radio if that is any help.
hope you guys can help. please and thanks.
Have you tried set cpu?
yup also the same problem. Now i am really starting to believe its my phone and i am worried
If you haven't tried flashign a radio recently, the thing to do would probably do a backup then a factory reset / wipe to rule out any /data issues.
It also could be network related so never rule that out. It could just be coincidental.
well i recently flashed the latest cool3D aceS mod and i did a full wipe does that count?
Sorry, I got confused there for a minute...
erm. Right re-adjust.
When was the last time it appeared to work properly? Have you got a nandroid backup of then?
actually i dont really know when is the last time it worked properly cause i am new to all this but could it be that i updated my Radio? cause before this i was using cynogenmod and i never had problems with games being laggy so i did not mess with the cpu speed. then when i wanted to change to insert coin they told me to flash the new Radio. so could it be flashing the radio caused the problem?
To be honest, when I mentioned radio, I thought I was replying to another thread...
Try a couple of nandroid restores from earlier backuops you took to test see where the problem seems to start.
i only have a backup of the older version of insert coin
What software do u use for overclocking? Maybe changing it would help... And also u could try to change governor and then if nothing works full wipe and reflash..

Maybe the new Rom is taking a big bite out of your ram. Try reverting back to cynogenmod with the same radio and see if you still have a lag.

i am using the daemon controller. i used to use the set CPU but after seeing that some of the ROM developers use the daemon controller i decided to keep that one as it came with the ROM i flashed. i did do a full wipe when i updated to cool3D aceS v2a from insert coin then to cool3D aceS v3. i reflashed it once again but i still have the same problem even after i did a full wipe from the recovery.

hmm i never tried that...really like the HTC sense tho i guess i will try that after i try the different governors in the daemon controller :\
well i tried flashing to another rom and still the same problem. but this time what i did was change the minumum wake speed and guess what only that speed changed to the lowest :s

Can't find an answer to this on google or xda. Didn't know if I should post this in General or Q&A.
I have been using my Incredible since it came out. I quickly learned about rooting, roms, s-off... with no problems. I have been running Skyraider almost from the beginning.
Here is the problem: A few days ago, I noticed on the SR thread that there were updates for the radio and hboot. So, I went ahead and flashed them. Almost immediately I started noticing the screen becoming unresponsive. After a minute or two I did a battery pull, rebooted, and again after a little while, freeze and reboot. I also noticed that even when the phone is awake but screen off, it would wake itself up. The rebooting and freezing makes it impossible to use my phone.
I tried everything I could think of:
Nandroid restore (obviously didn't work since this doesn't effect hboot or radio).
Reinstalled fresh SR Rom wiping everything, including dalvik, and did factory reset.
Finally, I downgraded back to the hboot and radio versions I had before, still no effect. (Baseband version 2.15.00.07.28, hboot .79 ).
I tried installing another ROM (Uncommon sense) to make sure it wasn't a ROM issue, ..same problem.
Please, any help would be much appreciated. I don't know what my next step should be.

No overclocking, I don't use setcpu, and I have been running the stock kernel. But it does feel like overclocking.
I wonder if the timing of events is just coincidence and its a hardware issue. I've had my Inc since June... rooted s -off in july and had no problems until about a month ago. I don't oc I use the new stock kernel but my phone hates change. Even flashing a small mod will cause rebooting.... and navigation always causes it. Phone heats up fast with these particular activities too but sometimes it will reboot at only 35c after a flash. I'm thinking hardware

Thanks,
You may be right.
For now things are working, let's hope they stay that way.
Hello,
at first sorry for my bad english, I hope u could understand
This is my Desire:
MIUI 1.7.1 - Android 2.3.4
Eng S-Off
Hboot 0.85.2007
Radio 26.08.03.07_M
Baseband 12.35d.60.140fp
Kernel 2.6.35.13-LorDmodUE-V5.0
My problem is, that BT doesn't work for me! I turned it on...after a few seconds the switch returns back into off position.
I tried everything, full wipe, wipe script, etc...
I rooted my DHD out of the box, so I don't know if it worked in the beginning! I never used BT before, but now I got a BT Car Radio...and now I need it of course! I thought the problem is the Radio maybe, so I tried to flash the Revolution Rom with the corresponding Radio...but it still don't work!
Any suggestion for that problem?
No ideas??
Update everything in your DHD. MIUI 1.7.15 already out there, use recommended radio 12.54.60.25_26.9.4.11_M2 and also fresh LordModv6.1cfs/bfs kernel.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
EDIT: latest MIUI 1.7.22 and the radio above is my preferred radio
flashed your preffered radio and lordmod 6.1 cfs...but it still dont work
Wiped everything, also formated the hole sd card
Logcat says :
Bt_enable_impl : timeout vor hci device to come up
Whoa, there's no need to wipe out the whole sd card! Hmmm, I'm feeling guilty right now. Okay, usually changing the mix of kernel does the trick though. Have you tried to revert to stock rom?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
I have the same problem when my battery is over 80%. If I restart my phone after the battery drops below 80% then my bluetooth turns on. I am running Cyanogen 7 nightly with LordModUE 6.3 and radio .09.04.11.

No problem mate...I thought that could not actually be the problem...but that was my last hope so I wanted to exclude all possibilities! I have backuped everything before formatting, so do not worry...
I tried the Revolution Rom with corresponding kernel/radio...also without success...i will now try the stock rom...
did you try using another radio?
it could also be hardware related
My Arc S randomly reboots itself, some 2-5 times per day.
I have unlocked bootloader, tried 3 custom kernels (ArcKnight, stock 4.1.A.0.562 and stock 4.1.B.0.431 with CWM) each with 3 different roms (JJ hybrid, Arconium ICS and Mooded ICS 90.3) and still the same thing. Does anyone know if it's kernel issue, software issue or something else?
Only thing I haven't changed from my stock rom is the baseband (64).
Any chance it's hardware problem?
well maybe the battery would have been loose enough to connect and disconnect from the phone
Completely flash back to stock using pcc repair, that's probably the best idea for the moment if you still get it, then try and figure out when it happens I.e. is it when the phones hot, when your jumping around or completely random.

Turn off your phone, take out the battery put it back in and boot the phone
but make sure you've charged the phone to about 50% atleast

i took off the back cover and shook the phone violently, it doesn't reboot so i guess it's not the battery connection.

it reboots completely random, sometimes when sitting on the desk, sometimes in the middle of conversation...the heat is normal for the usage situation (no heat when not using the phone). have to see how to use pcc repair, since i haven't used it. i have stock backup made from CWM recovery after unlocking the bootloader and flashing new kernel. maybe i can restore that backup?

undervolting? governor? i even dunno what those things are I just flashed the kernels that i listed above and used them as they are. i had the same problem with all of them, except when i think a bit, i didn't have problems from the very start. there were some rom versions maybe with combination of the apps that i was using at that time that didnt make my phone reboot. i just dont remember which roms and versions they were
Same issue here
Any result yet lalek?
I'm running Mooded ICS 90.7 on my Arc S, with DoomKernel 2.6.32.9, baseband 72, unlocked bootloader and rooted (obviously), and over the past week or so it's been doing random reboots. Sometimes twice a day, sometimes it will go for a few days.
Apps are Titanium Backup, Link2SD, AVG free, Dolphin HD, Superuser, MX Player, and just the usual banking apps, Angry Birds, Gmail etc. It's only rebooted while sitting on the desk sleeping, never while in use. I've uninstalled apps, found it still random reboots so reinstalled them. I'm starting to think its ROM or kernel related.
You should try re-flashing stock ROM ftf file using Flashtool, I recommend 0.587, see link on my signature for ftf file.
Try that for a few days, I'm sure it will be stable, then you can further customize the ROM.
Also be careful of heat if using some sort of tight-fitting case with the phone.
Thanks
I'll try that tonight!
I do have one of those TPU cases and had the phone pretty hot gaming while charging, but it's never hot when it does the reboot.
It will happen when RAM eaten by running application in background. Uninstalling a few apps will be help.

hi guys,
same problem here on my Xperia Arc
i have worked out what is causing the issue for me.
i ran a logcat that updated live to a file on my sd card so as soon as the device rebooted, it had logged the very last thing that happened on the device.
turns out the last thing happening was WiFi scanning.
i then turned my WiFi off and for the past 3 days i have not experienced a reboot at all!
when this first happened these are the steps i took.
i completely wiped the device (factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache partition, format system)
i then flashed Baseband 77 using flashtool
i then flashed fxp149 using flashtool
i then flashed Baseband 77 libs using CWM
i then flashed AOKP JB M1-R1 ROM using CWM
i then flashed gapps using CWM
i the reloaded all apps from the market and not applied any backups and yet it still rebooted all the time.
Since then i have tried using
Fusion 3.8
Fusion 3.9
Fusion 4.0
FXP 148
FXP 150
Stock Kernel inside ROM .zip file.
I have also tried putting it back to Baseband 72 but it made no difference.
I then decided to go all the way back to stock firmware as it is out of the box.
so I used flashtool and flashed LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2716).ftf
I reloaded my applications and monitored the device only to see that by the next day, the problem had returned.
THIS IS NOT A ROM OR KERNEL ISSUE!!
or at least it isnt for me, but it sounds EXACTLY the same as what everyone here is experiencing
i advise everyone, no matter what ROM or Kernel you are running to try turning off your wifi or even putting the device in airplane mode for a day and monitor
also try running a live logcat
to do this, open a terminal session and type
su
cd sdcard
logcat >> logcat.txt
then leave the terminal running in the background. (you will have the icon in the notification area that tells you its running)
you can then check your sd card and will see logcat.txt file there
you need to open it in wordpad or something of the sort as notepad doesnt display it nicely enough to read
anyone who tries this i would love to hear how it goes
i am curious to see exactly what is causing this but im starting to think it is a hardware issue.
hope this helps!!

It is a problem with battery connection. It is like a fabrique fault with Arc S. You have it explained here:

Hi there,
I'm coming here, because I cannot find the answer to my questions, and you guys can always help
I'm using custom ROM on my Desire, LeeDroid HD V3.3.3 GB R5. Everything is superb, except one little thing. Whenever I switch on WiFi, 3G or GPS it reboots after a while. And it always goes into bootloop, so I have to take the battery out. It only happens when phone is working hard - it's getting hot, that's what i've noticed too. I thought it might be the temperature, so i downclocked the CPU to 900 MHz, but it didn't worked either.
Kernel ver: 2.6.35.10 -g3f43272
If u need any other info, just write it down here.
Any ideas how can i work it out? I don't wanna change ROM, but i need GPS sometimes (that's when it reboots most often...)
newly installed ROM
I've reinstalled ROM. Now it only reboots in gps nav. Any clues? Btw. when revolting, it does not go in to bootloop.
did you try another radio (what about radio recommended by lee)?

Im having exactly the same problems, though currently my Desire is still running it's original unrooted Froyo OS.
Whenever the phone puts any load on 3G, GPS or the cpu it shuts down and gets stuck in a reboot loop.

Hi everyone.
I'm having a little problem with my Xperia S, it's kind of new (2 weeks of use).
When I'm using normally the cellphone, everything works great, but if don't use it for a long time and I grab it faster and unlocked it, sometimes the cellphone freezes! Well, not exactly freezing, it still works but VERY slowly, almost like freezing. I can't turn it off with power button, I had to user Power + Volume button to turn it off/restart it.
That happened in first week, so I unlocked bootloader and flash it another kernel (advanced stock kernel), and the problem was there.
Later I made a backup of the firmware (I updated to its last version with PC Companion, ICS btw) and flashed a custom ROM (XTXperience 4), and the problem was still there.
Yesterday I flashed a Generic ICS ROM downloaded from XDA Server using Flashtool, everything went normal until today, when the problem happened again.
I've been searching here in XDA and Google and still nothing seems clear of what is causing the problem, if it's the sim card or maybe a hardware problem. I'm going to relock the bootloader today, and I will try to repair the phone using SUS.
What is causing the cellphone to freeze? Hope someone help me with this. Thanks in advance!
btw, sorry about my english, hope you understand most of what I wrote
Well in my experience,
The phone freezes because it is too hot,
Or the RAM memory suddenly drops.
I mean sudden ur phone's RAM memory is 0.
I'm not sure too.
But I think reflashing the kernel, or flash other kernel will fix the problem
Try it
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
What ics firmware did you flash? And did you do a complete wipe when flashing?
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
I've flashed other kernel and yes, I do a complete wipe when I flash another ROM, via Flashtool or CWM.
I've been thinking of rolling back to GB to see what happens.
Yesterday my phone freezes like 2 or 3 times in less than 15 minutes. First time I reboot the phone and it was ok like 5 minutes, then it freezes. I reboot again the phone and happened again.
Its not even hot or using a lot of RAM, it always has like 250 or 200mb free

No, this is happening since the first boot of the phone. When I turned it on the first time it happened, and I had to search how to force a reboot because I didn't know how to do it LOL
It doesn't happen very often, but when it does is very frustrating!
Try flashing a new rom, but wipe the system partition too? I always do that to ensure a fully clean install.

I'm thinking in flashing a non based stock rom, like CM or MIUI, because I flashed XTXperience before and the freezing happened.
Oh, and the problem still exists. I believe Wi-Fi connection maybe it's the problem, I'm testing some things right now.
Had this too using Supercharger (by zep) but after few setting it's gone. Maybe you should try to run the script ?
It was with stock rom and advanced kernel v15/16.L
Well, I was on 6.1.A.2.45, I relocked the bootloader and an update changed the firmware to 6.1.A.2.55 using SUS without wiping data and the problem was still there, so I repaired the phone with SUS, it erased everything and the problem was gone for like 2 days. Today it happened again.
