Just wondering how widespread this is.
No nightly since 85 seems to have functional voice service. Oddly enough 3g works just fine

Just keep an eye on the nightlies thread, hopefully it'll be worked out soon. Until then, I am using #85 as well.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Gonna try 93 now... Will report back.
lufc, Thanks for the kindness about moving the thread
Nightly #93 still has no functional voice...
I am having the same problem as well, http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/32051-problems-with-textingcalls/
Nightlies after #85 are 2.3.7
as the title states, after #85, it is no longer Android 2.3.5, it is updated to 2.3.7. Some thing about that update borks the phone calling part. I think most everything else works.
make sure u do a nandroid backup before flashing new nightlies. I learned my lesson.

Well I've asked in the normal thread no one answered. Searched and searched and no answers. I flashed RC1 to my slide and wifi goes like this connecting obtaining Ip address. disconnected. I watch the wifi symbol up top come on and go off like its actually turning off and on. I made sure sleep was never and set it to 14 channels with no differeence. I Wiped everything cashe data dvak still the same. i used clockwork and formated the data cashe and system folders and reinstalled and the same thing. If i go back to an haxspersso i connect and stay on Anyone else have this problem found the solution ?
Same here. It's not working for most of us. A few people claim it's working for them. I'm also having problems with GPS. The compass part works, but it can't find longitude and latitude.
Prepare to get torn up by people for posting in the dev section.
But address the issue, im guessing this is the first cm7 rom you've flashed. If you are the type to stay safe and only flash the stable or release candidates, then you probably dont know about the wifi issues cyanogenmod commonly has. I didnt stay on cm7 rc1 long enough to see if the wifi was broke, but its likely it is. Either wait for a stable release or try that cyanogenmod wifi fix thread i saw floating around in this dev section (though that might only apply to cm6).

Wifi and gps are working for me, I think its about half and half. You just hear about the people who have issues, not the people who don't. A select few slide owners have slightly varied hardware, makes developing for the phone a *****. If you need wifi, I would just go back to 6.1, it's your best bet.

I had this problem when flashing CM7 RC1 to both my partner's MT Slide and my MT4G.
Rebooting fixed it.
CM7 Nightly 19 only wifi working for 100%
I know I don't have 3G or EDGE soo wifi is only me
everything works on my phone...wifi,gps,bluetooth... have you flashed the new radio?
Everything works for me, but I have a question being that CM 7 has apps2sd installed how would one know what apps to put onto the sd card? And should I down the the app from market because it will alert you when you can move an app?
Thanks-
I've figured out what is going on. If i use a standard rom i can connect to my N router just perfect. I have my router set to g-n only i could not connect with CM7. i told my router it was ok to connect at 54 and it connected. got to be the drivers.

You're talking about froyo and up's built in apps2fat. It's not a cm7 feature, it's a built in google feature. It will automatically put some apps on the sd card, but you can move them in the manage applications settings menu.

First of all, go to settings>about phone, and check your baseband version. If it says 7.15 somewhere near the middle, you're good. If it says 7.09 or 7.08 or anything below 7.15, you need to update. Flash this. Or, here is Chiefz_Reloaded's direct download link.
Flash that radio update via clockwork recovery. Make sure that you have good enough battery to last you a good 5 or 10 minutes to be safe. I would say have at least a 15 or 20% charge when you flash this. If it dies in the middle, you're totally screwed, bricked phone. Basically, as long as your phone doesn't die or your battery doesn't somehow fall out, you'll be safe flashing it. Don't sweat it.
Again, you only need to do that if your baseband version has something other than 7.15 in the middle of the string.
My baseband version is 47.63.35.21U_7.15.35.16, perhaps qualify the requirement, but still I experience connection breaks on WiFi, I am on latest nightly CyanogenMod-7-02202011-NIGHTLY-Slide.

Some have issues with wifi, it's a result of the varying Slide mainboard hardware. It will probably be fixed in the final or next release candidate. A lot of people say the old build 19 worked for them, but the build #'s reset shortly after RC1 was released so I don't know where you would find it. Sorry
Bump. Mine was working for a while, but stopped. It actually was bumping off my wifi router at home and I had to reset it everytime I tried to connect the phone. It took me a while to figure out that it was the phone that was doing it. Weird.
well ummm its called update rc1 well lest see we have had like 10 nightlys and what are not on rc3 and nightly 74 wifi works on rc3 and all nightlys since so yea get with the times

Gee thanks for the polite tip. And gee, I hadn't thought of trying that. Or maybe I did and it's still broke. I flashed cm6.1 and it works. Again, thanks for the support.
There's a post floating around regarding a file from 6.1 flashed onto cm 7, but I fixed my issues by making my router only send out b and g signal even if it is n capable. Good luck

I don't often use bluetooth but I don't ever recall having interference issues with WIFI until I got to CM7 and flashed the latest radio.
It's WIFI thats causing the issue, if I turn wifi off while I'm on a call the noise is gone.
Is my headset on the fritz, am I loosing my mind, or is this new with this radio version? Or all of the above.
Sidenote: Anyone know of an app that will automatically disable wifi while I'm on a BT call?
MT3GS, CM 7.0.2, Radio 7.9.35.10
hello good sir ok here it goes your running cm7 stable i see with the latest raido and that is great the problem is not with your phone more than likely could be but are you one of the unfortanate folks that has wifi connectivity issue ??? or does wifi work great for you as it does for me never had issues. the reason i ask is cm7 running the latest radio and latest everything lol is flawless however there is a licencing issue from google with android 2.3 cyanogenmod 7 with the wifi apk file meaning cm mod is using the wifi apk from 2.2 because there is no licence restrictions but for whatever reason on 2.3 they have that wifi apk file under licence for a one year period so that being said that may be the issue. or it could be your phone i have 3 mytouch slides mine wifes daughters and they all running cm7 stable clockworkmod and s-off and i have no issues with any i hope this helps and not just rambling good luck if need any additional info lmk thanks
No, that does make sense..
My wifi is a little whacky, but not nearly as bad as some folks describe. I've actually considered going back to CM6 a few times now.
My fiance has a MT3GS with CM6.11 and the older radio, I need to test my headset with that later.
Hi there,
I installed CM7 on my nonblur defy and get to see that WIFI signal is much weaker comapring with my last rom Froyo 2.2.2. I am standing near my router and even here i don't have full signal vs Froyo wich i had full signal in every room from my house. Can i somehow fix this, is there any patch for fixiing this? Is there anyone else having this issue?
thanks for replys
Use cm7 rc 1.5
Got a Headache? It's all in your Head.
try reflash the rom untill it works
I faced the same prolem
you won't find answer since the developers would not acknowledge there's a problem. we must be the unlucky ones having dud defy that won't play well with gingerbread.....
edit: hey, just updated to cm7 nightly 110909 and wifi seems ok. lazy to go back to froyo to compare. so don't know if it performs the same. try it, op. the only thing i'm still not happy with cm7 is the earlier builds consumed about 13% (estimated) of battery life each day is now about 20%

I installed CM for the first time with nightly 110911 and had the wifi issues. Not only disconnects, but as I have two defys, one running CM and the other 2.2, it is clear the difference in the signal strengths when they are side by side.
In Quarx's post he does acknowledge:
BugList:
Some people say that they have wifi problems
I've tried: Delete the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf and reboot. from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1161460&highlight=cm+wifi
It's been just 20 minutes, but so far so good. Signal strength is comparable and no disconnects so far. We'll see...
Update: I guess it's some sort of intermittent problem as I didn't have it anymore. Now I'm using 110927 nightly and I don't see disconnects anymore, but sometimes it takes a long time to reconnect, but very seldom, compared to 110911 nightly.

i've since move on to miui 1.9.9 and wifi signal is much better. in fact im quite sure it is as good as froyo. i never have drop-out problem with cm7 rc1.5, just weaker signal than froyo. so i guess my defy is not having as serious a problem as yours. (actually it will drop out if i'm further away from the modem when the signal became too weak).
i'll give measel's solution a go when i have some time later. very interested to see if it works. oh and good luck. i really hope it works
Quarx just said some people have wifi problem. so he obviously have not seen it personally. as such i don't think he can work out what's wrong since he has nothing to work on. if measel's solution works then maybe it might give him a clue as to what the problem was.
just find it strange that if rc0 did not have the problem why rc1? surely he could work out the difference between the 2?
edit: tried deleting the file but it didn't do anything for me. still the same. also tried the latest nightly 110914 without any luck.
I have same problem.I flashed CM7 nightly 110928 and find wifi signal is weaker than stock rom. even my defy is near the router and signal is still not full.
Loaded the CM 4.4 update from today and now I can't hear any voice when calling. The call connects and dials fine just can not hear anything. Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks in advance.
seriously guys, 4.4 is new and buggy. its going to be buggy for quite some time. it hasnt even hit release candidate status with cyanogenmod, and you guys expect it to work perfectly? go back to 4.3 if you expect a stable rom, because 4.4 roms are not what you want if you want stability at the moment.
Also, you would probably get more help posting this is the respective roms thread, instead of here. Just saying
Anyone seen the firmware for the M9 that supports Marshmallow ? It's definitely out there as some users are running Marshmallow ROMs....
Any leaks ? Any news on official release ?

The Marshmallow ROM for Verizon's M9 is still in the testing stages. Based upon my current build, I'd guess late testing stages, but don't quote me.

Oops! Sorry...
I believe Marshmallow firmware is only out for the dev / WWE devices.
VZW will most likely be the last variant to the update to MM, so don't hold your breath waiting on it.
FYI - I'm running the latest Candy6 (an AOSP-based Marshmallow ROM) on the most recent VZW firmware and it is running flawlessly. I actually thought I was enjoying sense until i went back to AOSP!

Is there a thread for that here at XDA, in the VZW section ? I've used CM-based ROMs for years but the only one I've seen for the M9 didn't have VZW support (yet).
The Venom team, and a few others, do have a test build for Verizon from HTC. However sharing this build would mean violating an agreement between said testers and HTC/Verizon. This, in turn, would mean no more early test builds would be released to them. This is not what any of us want.
You, and I, have Verizon M9's. We understand our devices are not the same as International/Developer... and thus we wait, patiently. Our turn will come.

Yep there's an XDA thread, but it's over in the general M9 section, here ya go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/development/rom-t3265048
The thread title still states it's CM based, but they recently rebased on AOSP for Marshmallow. Most recent build is labeled as an alpha, but it's working great for me.
So to confirm, Verizon is actually testing a marshmallow build?

I'm working my way through that thread. When it was first started, it appeared that there were a few critical things not working properly, like non-system apps being unable to read the external SD card. When they switched to AOSP, it seemed to improve things, but it's still not clear from that thread.
So..... since you're using it and also on Verizon, what doesn't work ? I've seen people release ROMs with non-working cameras, can't make phone calls, and other crazy s**t. I'm all for helping if I can, but I still need a functioning phone !!
I've got the ROM zip and GAPPS downloaded on my phone ready to go....

Honestly everything is working great for me on the build from 01-08, nothing is broken that i can tell. Data, wi-fi, gps, bluetooth, camera, flashlight, SD card, calls, texts, all are good to go. I haven't tested IR blaster as I don't use it for anything. And you will not have advanced calling/VoLTE available as far as I'm aware. But all good otherwise. :good:
I did see another VZW user reporting some issues on the same build like not getting a GPS lock, and their network incorrectly showing as Sprint and losing service whenever they drop to 3g or 1x coverage. But I have not had any GPS issues myself, and can't speak to the coverage issue as I live and work in an area with pretty solid LTE coverage and have had no problems.
I saw the one report of a GPS issue but multiple people saying they have no problem, so I brush off that "issue". I do have advanced calling enabled but no one I call does, so it doesn't matter. If I'm not mistaken, both ends need it enabled (?). Either way, it won't stop me.

I never had a gps lock when I went from sense to aosp. That was my problem. Switching from LTE to 3g and 1x because of fringe coverage , and having it read sprint pcs was just odd. Other than that, it's a great rom
No problem with GPS here. I just tried it for the first time with Google Maps and it showed my location spot-on. I also tried GPS Status and got a fix on 15/20 satellites (inside).

locks super quick too. Once i went and flashed a sense rom, got my lock, then went back to aosp, all was good. Do me a favor, download 4g switcher from the play store (its got a red power button logo). Since your in good 4g coverage. in this app, goto the dropdown menu that lists the radio bands (CDMA/EVDO/GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto is set by default) select CDMA auto (PRL) (this will force you into 3g mode). Then see if you see either 3107 or sprint PCS as your coverage. Then try to browse to a webpage or something on the 3g, i couldnt get data to work in that mode whatsoever. Then at least ill know if im sane. Thank you
Don't need an app for that - just dial "*#*#4636#*#*"
It shows "Sprint PCS" when I switch to 3G mode. I'm not going to chance any data roaming charges though... Sorry
Did you toggle Settings, Cellular Networks, Data roaming to 'on' ? It's off by default. That could be why you couldn't browse on 3G.
