Hi,
Could anybody, please, suggest an app which shows the CPU freq scaling history in a way similar to battery history, contrary to total time spent in each freq in, say for example, the No-Frills CPU app
Thanks in advance

I might as well use this thread to increase my post counter, so it let me post in Dev
two more to go
one more...
uh, maybe another one?

You can try CPUstats. It shows real time usage and percentages of every used frequency.....

Can't find "CPUstats" in Market
Anyways, I am looking for history of the scaling changes, not the total time spent in each state.

Hi guys! When I got up this morNing my battery was at 100%, after 2 hours of screen off, it was at 55%. Any ideas what the hell is going on? I am using coredroid 1.2, set CPU I'd set to 1194/968, but screen off is set to 245/245. Any ideas? Thanks in advance 7

What's your battery usage overview saying?
Lol, don't even know where to find that on here... I've looked.

It's at settings>about>battery use
Also, I'd suggest uping your screen off profile one notch or you'll risk wake issues. You might also want to lower your minimum from 968, you're basically telling your device to never run slower than 968 and also check that the screen off profile has a higher priority than your main profile.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
You probably have a bad app or system process keeping the phone awake.
I'd also recommend dropping your wake min down (even as low as 245). There's no need to force the processor to run at 968 no matter what. For the sleep setting, I'd try popping the max up to 368 (I think thats the next step up?) because you can have wake issues.
Ok thanks guys! I'll give these a try.

Hello, I'll admit i'm a noob, but the only way to learn is to ask sometimes dumb questions. Anyways, i'm currently running malice ROM on my sgs2 and it care with fauxclock for overclocking. It shows that one CPU is running and the other is offline and occasionally will flicker on for a second and show offline and won't flicker on and off for quite a while. Is this normal? Or should both be on at the same time?

The second one only works when needed.

This ^^^, its been awhile since I was on gb, but there's a line of code in the init.qcom.post_boot.sh file that initiates a governor of sorts, that only enables second CPU on high load.
To confirm, run a benchmark test in antutu benchmark and reopen faux clock, it'll show both cpu's as active
Unless your on ICS, you have a single core phone, second one barely gets used...unless you have a TON of stuff open
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
So with GB roms, it utilizes one constantly under normal conditions unless under heady load and the second one picks up the slack as needed......and ICS utilizes both constantly? Is that pretty much right?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
You can force the second core to run all of the time - I was able to do it with a script that locked out the kernel from turning it off. Doesn't really do much except eat up your battery though.
You can also use system tuner app to force second cpu online but like onyx00 posted just eats bettery.

What ROM are you using now?
Are you using a Live Wallpaper?
Also mention something you've done after which the battery drained faster... (something done after rooting)...
I don't know and im not using a live wallpaper.but when I rooted the first app I installed was set CPU and its on highest frequency, also when u finished rooting I remember that I entered cmw and flashed an update.zip which came by itself.could you please give me a battery saving ram?

when unlocking bootloader all data gets wiped
evn battery stats
let the battery be again used for sometime then it will give its optimum performance

I think its definitely setCPU. When i installed it my cpu freqquencies would change every second between min and max frequency(no matter what governor i used). The result:excessive battery drain
I think its because stock kernel doesnt support overclocking(or even underclocking)...May be the devs could explain it
After i did a factory reset, battery is ok now for me. No battery drain when kept idle for a night:good:
P.S. Also before reset my HW decoding(in video playback) wasn't working(now its ok)....any1 experienced this too?
The problem isn't setcpu the problem is that he set it to 2ghz

I think it is the setCPU too, try to use no-frills, it is a tad better in my opinion, but stock kernel doesn't like non-stock settings that is for sure.
I upgraded to rc2.1 cz they told me that the battery drain will decrease, but its still the same

how often do you use your phone and what operations do you do with it... are you always on full brightness? is your gps always on? are you always on wifi or bluetooth? some things to consider that may take chunks of battery life..
Always on wifi

you need to reset the battery by the sounds of it, empty your battery tonight, run some games or put youtube on or something....there used to be an app on the market that would run gps\wifi\brightness all max etc and empty your battery for you....not sure if it's still there.....but when you do root you can clear battery stats which will make your life easier....but yea empty it, charge it while it's off and HOPFULLY everything will be fine for you also as a sidenote, i charge my phone with wifi on and internet radio playing in the night and charges to 100% fine
When should I clear the battery stats?
Sent from my HTC One V using xda premium
it's known to reset the "capacity" of battery, but personally i don't believe it.
Use program BetterBatteryStats and see what's keeping your mobile phone awake, and also install CPU Spy to see on what frequency is your phone mainly working.

Not true, those programs are used only for troubleshooting, and are mostly deleted afterwards.
They helped me countless of times, so why wouldn't he give a shot?

Ive also checked another pocket which contained Galaxy Ace. It was opened too but cold. Ive also got something before: google acct removed from the phone but i didnt touch it, camera went black and rom toolbox's verification failed. Does anyone know what are the possible causes and how to fix? have to take battery off. ManU kernel with Aosp gingerbread

In your signature is written that you use LeeDroid Sense rom. If it's like that you shouldn't use Manu's kernel cause it's made for AOSP roms, maybe that's the problem.

you could also try an app called watchdoglite
it alerts you when a certain app uses processing power above a certain threshold.
Can someone explain why my phone becomes super laggy when installing Apps. It's almost unusable. I'm rooted running trinity on cm10 rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What fix? There is no fix. Nothing is wrong.
The CPU is busy installing your app. Wait until its finished.
Its not like all you do is install apps 24 hours a day.
let it be for 30 seconds. Geez
