Don't know where you are located. But if you're in the US, its only been announced as a Sprint release so far, and scheduled for sometime first half of 2011. The interwebs also says that Europe is getting it first half of 2011.
As per the specs;
Internal storage: 8 GB
? WTF!!!!!???? 8 GB? What am I supposed to do with that? Jesus Christ HTC, you just can't seem to get anything right these days. First you come out that that ridiculous HTC Surround and now this? And after all these years you still can't include a decent camera with your phones?
Seriously, is it me or does it seem like HTC is always one step behind the competition?

Its completely unclear to me whether you are complaining about too much on-board memory, or not enough. The Droid 2 has the exact same, 8GB, the Samsung Captivate has 16 GB. The iPhone 4 has up to 32GB, but not expandable, of course.

8gb is not adequate. Why does the HD7 have 16gb and this only 8?
Good question. HTC seems to be marketing the HD7 as more of a media smartphone due to its larger screen, so the focus seems to be on playing videos and the ability to record 720p video. Where the Pro7 seems to be marketed as a work device, where one might not need the increased storage. But I'm just guessing.
I agree that more storage is better, and flash memory is cheap nowadays. Iwould think it would probably only cost HTC a couple bucks to increase the storage memory on the Pro7 to 16GB.
Cheers for that
that is indeed the model
contract ends in March so that could work for me!!
anyone seen some decent reviews?
I wonder if there are problems with this model as all the blurb said it would be relaed before christmas in the UK
HTC 7 Mozart
Hi all
My last phone was the TP2. I am in the UK so didn't want to wait six months or more for a WP7 phone with a hardware keyboard. In the end I went for the HTC 7 Mozart on Orange UK.
I was very concerned about how I would get on with a phone with no hardware keyboard. The answer is, very well. The keyboard is light years ahead of anything I ever used on WM6.5 and I am able to type almost as quickly and accurately as I did on the TP2 in just a few weeks of use.
The only disadvantage is that with the keyboard displayed (in landscape) you generally only get two to three lines of text to look at.
Overall I am very happy with the HTC 7 Mozart and it does have an 8MP camera with Xenon flash.
Cheers

seams like they keep decreasing the screen sizes...HD2 4.3...Surround was like 3.8...I think...now 3.6...for this guy...going backwards...and the same with the memory thing...they finally offer about 8GB of internal...but now no option to expand on that...sounds like backwards development.
Let's see, we have:
1) Samsung Focus S announced by AT&T
2) Samsung Focus Flash announced by AT&T
3) Samsung Omnia 7 S (made up name) leaked by the FCC
All these seem to sport Super AMOLED screens which is great. We do need information on availability and storage options but the Focus S sounds very promising. Today I'm much more likely to buy a Samsung Mango phone over a HTC.

Focus or go home, pretty much. It's the best device confirmed to be coming out now.
4.3" SA+ screen @ WVGA is a lot more bearable than 4.7" SLCD @ WVGA. 1.4 GHz almost as good as 1.5. It has a 32 GB Option IIRC. Samsung tends to use NAND in their phones, so I'm hoping for that. Decent cameras, and the sound and cell radio are almost guaranteed to be better than HTC devices.
Too bad AT&T axed Unlimited Data. That's a showstopper for me, and I'm guessing lots of other people.

Super excited for the Focus S, assuming at least 24 GB will be available. Now, let's see what else will be coming out around that time...
@N8ter where did you get that 32GB info? Storage hasn't been mentioned. I hope it's a Worldwide phone unlike the first Focus.

It's heresay. I have seen it mentioned by a few people at different sites. Sorry. That's why I put the "IIRC" part It's questionable.
If it has no 32GB option it'll be dead to me.
I'll buy a new iPod instead. Really, this is getting ridiculous.
I wonder if the new iPhone will have a 4" screen...
I spent about 2 grand on phones in 2010-2011. I'll be frugal for the next few years, so whatever phone I get in the next 1-3 months well... I'll just take a contract out cause I won't be giving anything else a try.
They better knock this **** out of the ballpark. Really, they're running out of chances and it's not like the issue of low storage in the devices wasn't a hot topic following the release of the 1st gen WP7 devices...
Though it voids the warranty WP7 are not hard to upgrade the memory. i'm being alittle hypocritical pointing this out, consdiering I bought a 32gb DVP when I could saved $100 getting a cheaper one with lower storage and upgrading. Prior to the DVP comingto AT&T I also got an HTC surround over the LG b/c of storage, though I prefer physical keyboards.
It depends on what WP7 device you have. It's not easy to upgrade the storage on an HD7. There is no user-accessible SD Card Slot. You literally have to open some of these phones up to get at those slots. Lots of devices have tape inside that clearly indicates if teh phone has been opened up. Some of them have stuff in the screws that makes it obvious if you even stuck a screwdriver in them, nevermind opened it up, and they'll void your warranty if that's been tampered with (they won't even touch it, they'll just say you're on your own - I know people this has happened to).
That's like saying it's not hard to remove the battery from an iPhone, in many cases.
$100 to go from 15 to 32G when you can be absolutely assured that it will work correctly is worth it. Many of us would have paid that, but we didn't get the choice - at all.
The DVP didn't have a 32G option until many months after it was released. For the first 6 months or so all Dell Had were 8 and 16 GB options.
Plus that device only has 256MB RAM, IIRC, which is a showstopper for me. Not to mention the camera on it is beyond terrible.
No. The DVP has 512 but the early tmo ones had a bug where the system only read half of the memory.

This time around I'm a little undecided. I'm leaning towards the Focus S, but I would consider the Titan too. I would like to have a physical keyboard as well, but it seems all of the Mango devices aren't available with that option. I guess I might hold out for a little while, but I would like to upgrade before the end of the year.

Supposedly it has lower specs so that it is priced competitively, makes total sense to me since they're already releasing the Focus S with SAMOLED+ and a 4.3" screen.
Jesus, these announcements are going to turn me into a WP7 hater soon.
Just what's wrong with these OEMs? Why in the world do they equate high end with oversized screens?
I'm don't want to go any bigger than 4", but 8GB of storage and PenTile? Screw it.

There's a pretty easy to follow guide to change the HD7's SD Card without voiding warranty. Don't have to take out the screw with the void warranty sticker on it & can move the tape out of the way pretty easily. That being said, never done it, because of the compatibility issues with SD Cards & WP7.
Thought this might be interesting if I go by things I read on different threads.
This won't be the case but let's assume you can get any phone on any carrier and price isn't an issue.
How would you pick your next phone?
I allowed for multiple choice but try not to vote for 6 out of 8 or this won't teach us anything specific. And if you picked "Other", what did you have in mind?
Other: gyroscope support and > 1 GHz processor
My most important features: Screen size (less than 4"), Camera (high quality with dual led), and something not there build quality.
I am pretty much all in for the Nokia 800. Second choice is the Samsung Omnia W.
For me there has to be a hardware keyboard - I just hate capacitive touch keyboards.
Price, can't be more than $100 with no contract. And of course, significantly better than my LG Quantum, otherwise I have no reason to upgrade.
I LOVE massive phones, I went from my HD2, to an HD7, and if God would answer my prayers, the Titan would come to T-Mobile, though, soon enough it won't matter as I'm hoping we become AT&T. So, I voted for FFC since it's already a given to me that I'm going for a big phone. Screen type would probably be a close second for me, as I like the HD7 screen, but really wish it were a higher quality, but hey, I'm asking to be spoiled now, right?
It's odd to see one user out of two ready to buy a phone on its brand alone
I personally go for what I find better overall regardless of the OEM.

Yeah I guessed price would come up for many people as well as choice given by the carrier which is why I said in the first post regardless of price and availability

I personally love HTC, I know I'm probably in the current minority, for some odd reason as they're the only phones to consistently update without an issue, but Nokia is also winning over my heart.
I really want my Mozart to be my last HTC ever. But it's been my desire to abandon them since like 2005, and I still was forced to buy their stuff because others were mostly even worse.
In your list, it goes like this: screen less than 4", 16GB minimum (64 preferred), usable camera, 1500+ mAH battery. No pentile crap. Looks are also kind of important, but I can live with something less than stellar.
The leaks and announcements really make me sad, I don't see anything really attractive. SeaRay is almost there but it looks like it'll come with PenTile, so it's most probably a no go...
I'm with FiyaFleye, I like HTC and and have seen problems that would affect with other OEMS that I don't have with my Fuze. Nokia I have no idea on that but haven't had one in 4 yrs and it was a dumbphone. However not willing to wait another 3 months+ for them either. I would like a hardware keyboard with a smaller screen would be first choice, or go with a big screen so I can type well. Extra nick nacks are always a plus if they are usable, and 1 gig > processor for some future app usage is good too.
This list would have been so much easier in Aug before they started announcing phones, I'm just waiting for mine to come to the USA.
I'd love to get my hands on a Nokia WP7 phone, but that could take a while and the HTC Titan is kinda expensive over here.
I'll prolly just get a Samsung Omnia W if I get too impatient, really wanna see what the better CPU/GPU can do for my emulator.
Also I'd really like to see some 32GB storage phones, 8GB is just killing me on my Trophy.
1. Storage, it must be at least 32gb
2. Nokia
I will only consider getting a phone that isn't a nokia if the storage space is 32gb or above (and nokia only offer 16gb variants).
If storage space doesn't improve by the end of the year I will probably jump ship to android, even though I prefer Windows Phone my music collection is a must for me.
I'm hoping *fingers crossed* that the Nokia 800 will come in 16gb and 64gb variants like the N9 and thus will be my next phone (in blue )
Manufacturer is gonna come into play for my next WP7. IE i'm not having another Samsung phone.
I went with screen size. 3.5" ish would be good. Also, want good battery life. At least a 1500mah battery.
Funny how so few people picked FF Camera when it's supposed to be an epic fail not to have it since Apple "invented" video chat
I would have bought that Samsung Omnia 7 W like today if it came with 16 GB...
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
1. Storage...at least 32 GB
3. Camera quality
3. Screen quality
I don't know any one that actually uses the FFC...nothing but a gimmick.
I´m asking myself if I need a new WP in general...
My OMNIA 7 has all features I use daily (less DLNA and skype support).
So today I took a look at the new HTC devices:
1. HTC Omega is too small.
2. HTC Titan is too big for my taste.
The display is much better than the HD7 display but not even better than the OMNIA 7 display. Also the general quality of the phone is very good: less plastic parts and good working hardware buttons (compared with the HD7).
Do I need a HTC Titan 4.7" notebook in my pocket ? I don´t think so.
The upcoming OMNIA W will only have 8 GB, maybe 16GB... is this what I need ? I don´t think so either.
A general question is: Do I really need a FF cam ? How many videocalls I made in the past ? I only made normal voip calls...
I would say the only hope is that the NOKIA Empire strikes back... and I don´t think that the new devices will have more than 16 GB.
I hope that I´m wrong, but I think it´s better to wait 3 or 4 month before buying a new WP.
Regards
contable
I never thought I'd say this, but camera is my #1. Since everyone seems to be pinching pennies these days and both of my old 5MP point-and-shoots are just crappy, my phone has become my #1 camera for both stills and video. I remember when cameras first came out on cell phones and I was thinking, "why?" All that, and baby is now 12 weeks old, so I'm taking pictures like crazy!
Screen size is a close second. I doubt I could ever go smaller than my 4" Focus screen at this point.
I want to buy a Galaxy Y.. But I need user opinions.. I mean what are the problems I may face [Esp. if there are any hardware faults] ..Please tell me If it is a good buy or not ? I need to buy a phone very soon..

But its sound is little bit low.

You are wrong in two places.
I have this phone and I am yet to come across an app which wont work on it.
Earphones are bundled with the phone.
Buy it, you wont regret it.
Cheers.
peepl with huge fat fingers may want a larger screen cuz 'em soft-keys are f*cken tiny.
This is best phone for your money in this part of the galaxy .
In my country phone comes without earphones.
SGY 4 ever
when you buy SGY you are a member of the club, basically.
the SGY, or y-phone, is usually purchased by people who are far smarter than those freaks who buy stuff from Aple. even Steven Jobs got sick from his own products.
those who buy crap from Aple - on average - tend to be people with limited brain power, plenty of physical challenges (obesity) and not untypically have a criminal record.
best afordable android phone.. i have 1.. yeh.. =)
just make sure you don't buy crap from Aple. it made Steve Jobs sick, even.
you can try Alcatel Blaze Glory 918N almost same price with SG5360 but with better camera and screen size...the downside is the cpu...its really up to your taste and usage...
it's my best choice for price and compatibility... don't bother pal
It's a good phone for its price range. You can consider it an entry-level Android phone in your country. (Here in the Philippines, it isn't, because there are other local brands that first introduced a much cheaper entry-level Android phones than Samsung's Galaxy Y I wouldn't be surprised by Samsung got the idea from them in the first place.)
Secondly, the 'no earphones'. I think that depends on the country. Here in the Philippines it is bundled with Samsung earphones.
Now if you are an app addict, then you will start facing problems as GT-S5360 only have a small internal space. Though most people will tell you to get App2SD or any of its variants, you will still reach the point of "not enough space".
If you are willing to do extra steps, then ditch App2SD and get Link2SD. I haven't seen "not enough space" since using that one on both SGY phones I used it to. In my own phone, I currently have 90+ apps installed and I still have 120mb of free internal space. Which is not possible with App2SD especially when it comes to games. (App2SD does not move cache files, Link2SD does.)
So if ever you come to that point of having no more internal space, you don't need to feel bad about buying SGY. Just get Link2SD. As I've always sad to my friends: if your only reason in buying a higher model (and expensive of course) is more internal space, then you are only going to waste your money. Buy a higher model because you need it. Because you've outgrown the lower model.
Yeah, there are ways to fit things into SGY despite being an entry-level Android phone. Enjoy it.
Samsung has launched Omnia M ( GT-I8350 ), a Windows Phone smartphone ideal for social and entertainment multi-taskers. Company says “Play and Share with Samsung Omnia M“......
http://mirolta.com/2012/05/11/samsung-launches-omnia-m-a-windows-phone-smartphone/
Looks nice, Good sized screen, but just 4GB storage,I know Skydrive is the in thing but I would hate having to stream all my music, Photos aint so bad, That doesn't really leave alot of room even for apps, Even if the whole 4GB is usable? If anything surely storage sizes should increase?
Looks like nice, though not revolutionary, hardware. The 4GB storage is a pathetic joke, though, unless it's easily expandable. I mean, 8GB was bad back when the Focus launched 1.5 years ago, and we're an iteration of Moore's Law from that point. Storage should have doubled, not halved... Also, the choice to stick with the 1GHz CPU seems odd; the gen1 Windows phones perform great (still) but I'd have expected a faster chip just as a matter of progress.
The inclusion of HSDPA (rather than something like LTE) makes me wonder if it'll be the first Samsung Windows Phone to come to T-Mobile in the US. I'm a bit surprised by the choice of data tech, though, to be honest; is Europe still predominantly on 3G techs like HSDPA? The US hasn't entirely decided what "4G" means yet, but "faster than 7.2Mbps" is definitely a part of it and all the major carriers offer such a technology.
My guess? This is a low-end budget phone, intended to bring people to WP7 for cheap. With 384MB of RAM, it'll run Tango fine, but that's still less than most gen1 phones. That's fine by me if it helps increase the platform's user-base, though!
Might be a decent pre-pay phone but you would be much better off getting a first gen focus unless you HAVE TO HAVE a FFC.
Two Windows Phone by Samsung in one week ! What happenned to them ?
They sayd that, WP7.5 is a mess for them and they will focus on WP8 but this 2 devices are clearly here
Not many people wil buy that phone.
I hope the WP8 Phones from Samsung will look better like a mix of Galaxy S2 and S3
Omnia M looks and feels quite good in hand actually (I was lucky enough to get it in my hands today). It is nowhere near the feel of Omnia 7 - it is not metal after all. But it felt quite solid, more than Galaxy S .
It was sporting 4GB storage only though, which is serious bummer. But it felt snappy just as some regular nonTango-specced device.
Depending on the price it could be really good buy. But the 4GB :/....
Look good but memory?
Looks good? Looks great!
