After flashing different kernels and switching back to the zedomax backup. My phone keeps giving me google talk authentication failure with the market place app install hang. I have been trying different kernels and stock roms in search of stopping this highly annoying problem.
One thing i have noticed is that when i restore back to the zedomax backup and login to my google account. Go to the market place. the market place updates to the newer UI market and then bam, google talk authentication failure.
reprovisioning works for sometime then fails again
If anyone can help me i appreciate it
sorry if i didn't see a thread regarding this, i searched the epic touch forum and also searched through some pages to make sure this isn't a repost.

Alright so I had Google backup my applications, and I was running CM7. Then I tried flashing to SalvageMod (I did factory reset and everything) and since Google backed up my apps it put back all kinds of stuff from CM7, which makes everything a little wonky because it turned into a mix of the two ROMs. How do I access what Google backed up for me so I can alter what does and doesn't get backed up when I flash new ROMs? I tried Google.com but I couldn't seem to find anything pertaining to Android phones, but maybe I missed it. Many thanks in advance! I would really like to try out SalvageMod without CM7 interfering haha.
That is one of the reasons why I don't have my apps, data and settings automatically backed up to Google's servers. However, to attempt to answer your question, one step is to disable the "automatic restore" feature located in Menu-Settings-Privacy Settings. No, I have not tried it but it seems like a good starting point.

Does anyone know of any permanent solutions to the error received while trying to download apps in the marketplace after running a ROM? I have gone to Google Account Services and deleted the cache/memory along with the Dalvik cache in Recovery. It only solves the problem temporarily until it comes back after a few hours.
I have also noticed sync issues as well with e-mail and gmail (very frustrating) and hang ups while shutting down or reboot. Not sure if it is related or not.
Here is the ROM I'm running:
Issues with [ROM][ICS 4.0.3] :ARKSIDE.EVOLUTION.3:: [v4][UVLE1][VENOM][6.16.2012]
I also ran Mr. X's rooted stock ICS ROM in an attempt to relieve the issue but that didn't work either.
Sorry if the answer to this question has been posted already. Couldn't find a solid answer on the forums.
Thanks
dude im running the same rom and kernel and everything you are, and i to get that problem once in a while lol the easiest way to fix it is to just go in to Applications>All>Google.Play.Store and then UNINSTALL UPDATES. This should allow you to download apps with out a problem, but sooner or later the error will pop up again. Anyways this helps you not go through the whole route of rebooting in to recovery and whipping cache and stuff.
(i also ran mr.x rooted stock rom and i got the same problem sometimes)
as for the email syncing i have no problem with that. I have mine on manual syncing so thats probably why. lol.
Hello,
I'm having a problem where my touch screen is no longer recognizing where I touch. I have been in the process in rooting my kindle, flashing the CM10 jelly bean ROM with SGT7 enhancements, and trying to install access to the Google Play. I did a backup before I rooted the kindle, but I haven't done any additional backups along the way.
Everything seemed to be fine until I started trying to install access to Google Play. I did not have it by default with the ROM so I went looking for it. I read the forums and tried a few things that other people had done but had no success (the google framework would not install) until I tried a procedure I found on youtube that someone else had had success with. After I installed it, I had two new icons "Market" and "Market Opener". When I selected either one of them, I was prompted to create an goodle account for my device, but the request always returned with an error saying the connection could not access the google server. So, I began looking around in all my settings to see if I could find a setting that might affect the success for failure of trying to do this, and I started having a lot of trouble with the touchpad responsiveness as I tried to navigate around the menus. It was very frustrating. So, since I had not done a back up before installing the market apps, I tried to uninstall it. But, the touch screen was just not cooperating. So, I went a step further and rebooted to recovery to see if I could uninstall the apps from there. But again, the touchpad was still not cooperating. It was very inconsistent and would respond to very few touches. So finally, I decided the heck with it and want to restore my backup to the stock kindle and start all over again. However, the touch screen won't recognize the swipe to confirm restoring the backup. So now I am hosed and I don't know what to do.
Is there any way to restore a backup through my PC using adb?
Here's what I think I have installed:
fff-u-boot_v1.4a.zip
KFU v0.9.6
openrecovery-twrp-2.2.0-blaze.img
cm-10-20120817-2143-SNAPSHOT-otter-sgt7-linaro.zip
ROOTexplorer.apk
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
KindleFireAndroidMarket.zip
MarketOpener.apk
I'm pretty new at this, so any hand-holding you can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Valerie
P.S. It's also very puzzling to me why it seems to hard to find the right stuff to install in order to get access to Google Play. Any idea why it is so hard? I'd just like to understand. Thanks.

Wow, no one has responded to my post. This must be a problem no one has seen before. Leave it to me to find new ways to screw up!
Well, I've made a little progress getting my system back to a usable state. I was able to set the system back to factory defaults. Of course I lost all of my customized settings, but at this I don't really care. The touch screen works much better now. If I had to guess (but I could be wrong) I would say that my touch screen troubles were due to having played with the wallpaper settings (and maybe combined with placing widgets on the home screen). There might be something screwy going on there, but I don't know for sure, and I don't want to go back and attempt to recreate the problem right now.
Now, I still have the problem of not being able to connect to the market. I also have read other people's posts where they refer to the "google play" app. I have not seen a google play app. All I have is a "market" app. Where do I get the google play app?

You need to flash a gapps archive appropriate for the ROM you have flashed on your system. Those other packages you have installed are for getting google play to work on the stock system. For a custom ROM, you just need to install gapps.
http://goo.im/gapps
Again, make sure you match the right gapps package for the system you are running. CM10 is JB, CM9 is ICS, etc. I'm not sure how the play/market packages you've already installed would affect the ROM. Just to be safe, I would just go back to TWRP, use factory reset to get back to a clean slate, reflash the ROM and then the gapps package. Then a reboot will take you straight into google's configuration wizard. Register your google account and you'll find google play ready for use among the installed applications.
Thank you!

Thank you very much kinfauns, I am now up and running. Your help is very much appreciated!
I have a ATT Note 2. I flashed a new Rom on it and some of my core apps didn't work. Message was a "app not installed". So then I tried another ROM and the I got several failures like goodle play, google mail, goodle sound and talk. Sometimes my texting would stop working. I tried to go to the cloud but continued to get network not working for that and maps also. I flashed a 3rd ROM and the same things I am currently on the NOTRtoriusrom now. I tried to reinstall the gapps zip file. No change. I do have some function of my phone. Different things stop work at various times. I cant download any apps or my back-up cause I cant get into play store. I would very much appreciate any help that anyone can give me.
Thanks Billy

I would suggest using one of the newer ROMs, such as the international port available for our devices. It runs super smooth and even has a nice AOSP theme to go with it.
Also make sure that you are performing full wipes between ROMs, as some of the symptoms you have described are that of an unclean flash when switching ROMs. Losing user data sucks, but comes with the territory of being apart of the moding community.
there is no " NOTRtoriusrom" for this phone; you probably flashed something not for this phone, and thats why you are having problems...
Yes there is

sounds like you are just dirty flashing everything.
my suggestion is have the most up to date CWM or TWRP recovery and make sure you factory reset and wipe everything before flashing a rom.
I would suggest flashing one of the TW roms like Novella, Jedi, and Cleanrom cuz its just one zip and you should be good to go after that.
I loaded the ROM in this thread and am having a couple of issues...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2481234
I am not new to ROMs but this is the first time I have spent any real time with anything other than a stock flash or a CM stable or nightly. I will list my issues below but am not sure if I should just pursue a different ROM for my needs or if I should spend more time troubleshooting it.
1) I get a google apps error when I first boot my phone. "Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped"
2) google hangout sends but does not receive
3) instagram will not load my feed. I can install and login but get no content.
All I have really done is remove and reinstall apps. I did have to load the modem from the link the dev supplied to get data to work but it has been OK since. I was thinking about reinstalling the google apps package but didnt want to spend a bunch of time on it. I haven't seen huge performance differences really. I was jsut trying to save the time of going in and manually stripping out some of the sprint crap I don't use. I really only had two objectives with htis flash. First to avoid the Knox update and second, to make my life easier than going back through with a system cleanup app. I also secretly like the Sprint touchwiz interface but that is just a comfort thing really.
So what do you guys think? keep plugging at this or go to a less stripped ROM?
Hey, I'm sorry you are having issues. I don't think you should flash a gapps package. Did you completely wipe the phone before installing Barebones? I have another version you can try if you'd like. Try flashing version 1.0 and see if it works better.
Pretty sure I did. Its part of my usual routine to wipe it all before flashing anything. I did remember that I added an ad blocker app. When I removed that instagram and hangouts started working again. Now I just get the error at startup. Going to use the phone as is for a day before I decide to do anything else. Thanks for the help.
Let me know how it's working, I removed quite a bit so maybe I need to redo it. I don't think anyone had issues with v1.0 though. Thanks for the feedback
