[Q] Error Downloading Apps and Sync - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Does anyone know of any permanent solutions to the error received while trying to download apps in the marketplace after running a ROM? I have gone to Google Account Services and deleted the cache/memory along with the Dalvik cache in Recovery. It only solves the problem temporarily until it comes back after a few hours.
I have also noticed sync issues as well with e-mail and gmail (very frustrating) and hang ups while shutting down or reboot. Not sure if it is related or not.
Here is the ROM I'm running:
Issues with [ROM][ICS 4.0.3] :ARKSIDE.EVOLUTION.3:: [v4][UVLE1][VENOM][6.16.2012]
I also ran Mr. X's rooted stock ICS ROM in an attempt to relieve the issue but that didn't work either.
Sorry if the answer to this question has been posted already. Couldn't find a solid answer on the forums.
Thanks

dude im running the same rom and kernel and everything you are, and i to get that problem once in a while lol the easiest way to fix it is to just go in to Applications>All>Google.Play.Store and then UNINSTALL UPDATES. This should allow you to download apps with out a problem, but sooner or later the error will pop up again. Anyways this helps you not go through the whole route of rebooting in to recovery and whipping cache and stuff.
(i also ran mr.x rooted stock rom and i got the same problem sometimes)
as for the email syncing i have no problem with that. I have mine on manual syncing so thats probably why. lol.

[Q] Installin CR4 over Nightly 31 (Cyanogen)

So I flashed my Nightly 31 and worked fine... beside the GPS... anyways I then noticed that RC4 came out so I backed up the current rom and cleared cache and flashed RC4 over the Nightly all though Rom manager.
Well RC4 didn't fix the GPS for my Evo so I went back to the Nightly through recovery... Now when I was back in my Nightly I noticed that my contacts were all missing and it said to sync my acc. to upload them. so I opened Gmail to make sure my acc. was still on the phone but Gmail just opens and closes... no force close just pops up and then closes. so I uninstalled it and tried to open the market to reinstall but the market won't even open! the button is just non responsive... WTF
all my other gapps work maps...etc...
So I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem or if anyone knows a fix... Thanks in advance for any and all help!
Well since you cleared the cache, you may have to just re-flash the rom with the latest gapps. Normally shouldn't have to, but that should fix it.
Once again, you do not need to create a new thread for problems with CM7. There is a huge thread with thousands of people checking it daily. Post your question in there and it will get answered.
The only problem for me to post in the main forum is it takes forever to sift though the posts...
I would love to fix it without re-flashing the rom... I want to keep my txt and stuff and Titanium doesn't restore txt properly (at least its never worked for me)
which I find odd cuz Titanium is so useful and had work with backing up tons of game and stuff for me... IDK...

[Q] Problems after flashing rooted Gingerbread.

I rooted my EVO and flashed radio 'EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_WiMAX_27243_PRI_2.15_003.zip'
Then I flashed a rooted stock gingerbread/sense ROM 'supersonic_4.22.651.2_deodexed-signed.zip'
Problem 1: I reinstalled a bunch of my apps using Titanium Backup, but none of these apps are showing up in the Market.
Problem 2: I cannot sync Facebook for HTC Sense. Whenever I try to sign in, I keep getting the error "The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again?"
I have tried all sorts of things like uninstalling all Facebook for Android updates and even a supposed fix I found in other forums in which you edit your work information on your facebook profile. Nothing seems to work.
Can anyone help?

For the apps not showing up in your market it takes time and a reboot or two. The facebook thing I'm not sure about though, it wouldn't work right for me from day one so I haven't tried to use it in awhile.
Why do people need their apps to show up in the market if they already have them reinstalled with TB??

I just find it helpful to see which apps need updating. It's definitely not essential.
For the apps download a free app from the market and they should show up they did for me.

Normal when flashing a rom. Give it a few reboots and wait a day or so.

I'm sensing a pattern...
Thanks a lot guys. Today was my first experience with flashing. I can see why it's addicting.
I have a different problem after I flashed to the latest Gingerbread ROM, (on my eVO 4G btw). I flashed the latest ROM "gingerbread evo 1.2v", when that finished i flashed "EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_WiMAX_27243_PRI_2.15_003" (was told it should fix any radio issues). then flashed "gapps 5-21-2011 with Voicemail.apk and Gtalk 1.3 with Voice and Video". My EVO restarted fine but now i cant make any calls or recieve any. In fact the status bar at the top isn't even there. When i press the phone icon i get a message saying "Application not installed on your phone". I must be missing a step or something. Any help would be great, thanks.

I read in another forum you sometimes need to re-flash the kernel after flashing new radios. You could try re-flashing the ROM now that you have the updated radios.
just tried flashing the rom after everything else and still same results. Any other suggestions?

I'm new to flashing ROMs personally, but I've also read people recommending to do a clean wipe 2 or 3 times and wipe the dalvik cache as many times before flashing again. I don't know what sort of issues they feel they are preventing by doing that so I don't know how plausible of a solution it is, but if you've got the time it wouldn't hurt to try.
Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in and you won't have to get your advice from a noob. Best of luck.

app could not be downloaded due to an error

So after i flashed RCMix3d Runny v4.0 I tried to download an app from the market and get the error: "app name" could not be downloaded due to an error. It happens with any app I try to download any app from the market. I tried many things with no luck
-clear market data and cache. didnt work.
-uninstall market update. didnt work
- switch gmail accounts. didnt work
-flashed back to my previous rom. didnt work
I did wipe the phone before i flashed RCMix3s Runny v4.0
when I restored my previous rom it didnt work so i tried to wipe my phone again and reflashed the rom and still didnt work
can anyone please help me out here?
what exactly did you wipe? data & cache? use superwipe, maybe this helps...
i wiped data and cache. ill try superwipe
anyone? i tried superwipe and the problem is still there
Check your SD Card
check your SD card, take it or mount it on your PC and do a chkdsk (might need the /f to fix errors). Last time I had an issue downloading apps, my sd card was messed up. I don't understand why that would be.
good luck.

I had this issue when I first loaded mexdroid.
The first work-around I found was to select a different language option after the flash (during setup). English US wouldn't work, but English UK would give me access to the market. However it screwed up my data connection so that was a no go.
I eventually found that this only happened when I downloaded and flashed using ROM manager (first, and last time I've ever used that). Once I downloaded from their site and flashed myself through recovery, everything was perfect.
I currently have this exact same issue, only I went from mexdroid to synergy and back. I haven't tried wiping anything yet but I got this suggestion in my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19432854#post19432854
Go to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/All
Find Market, first force stop, then clear data
Next find download manager, first force stop, then clear data
reboot into recovery and wipe the dalvick cache
then reboot system and try your market again
I'm going to try this soon and I'll let you know my results, but if you discover a fix first please post back, I don't like having a broken market!

I had done all that when I had the issue. It didn't work for me but heres hoping it does for you!
So you basically had to wipe everything and reflash mexdroid from scratch?
EDIT: I just tried the method I posted above and it didn't work. WTF, what happened? I don't understand how my backup doesn't work now, shouldn't it be exactly the same as it was before?
I'm going to try one last thing, I have 2 mexdroid's backed up about a week apart, at the time they both worked just fine but I'm going to restore the older one and see if that helps at all.
2nd EDIT: OP, I don't know why this worked and I don't know if this will help you, but I just reverted back to my mexdroid backup from BEFORE I tried the sense rom and everything is back to working. I don't know why but installing the sense rom definitely did something to screw things up. I also don't know if this had anything to do with anything but I unchecked the "auto update" option for market. I hope you can resolve your issue, good luck to you
For me when I tried switching gmail accounts again it started working.
I also accidently wiped out my sd card. That was right before I decided I wanted to go back to CM7. When logged into my gmail account I forgot I had to use my second gmail account, but for some reason it started downloading apps again.
Not sure if wiping the sd card had anything to do with it but it works now. I'm happy

Glad you got it working, I'm happy with my results too but I'd still like to know wth happened to cause it in the first place. It's gotta be something related to google accounts somehow, but why did trying a Sense-based rom cause it?
weird solution
I tried clearing everything in order to get the market problem fixed when I had this same problem. In different orders, flashing, wiping, etc.
Finally, I linked a second gmail account, and now it can download. Why might this happen?
The weirdest thing, is that when I switch to the original account, it still doesn't work. Maybe a security file was corrupted somewhere?
I read something about google market locking somebody out if it thought there where too many devices attached or something. Haven't found anything to confirm that and I still don't know why I got locked out or why it started working again, but if making a new account worked that makes me think there's some truth to the market lock out theory.

-not work for me either..
-even if i try ceate new google account. not work..
-then i mount phone to pc, and erase file ''downloadfile.apk'' in folder ''.cache'' on sd..it works fine now..
i can finaly download from market again..
p.s. this work for me with new and old google account..
HTC Desire / (ROM)MildWild V-2PointZero
Guys, this worked for me w/o changing google account or wiping sd,
1.)Turnoff your phone
2.) Remove Battery
3.) Remove External Sd Card count maybe 3-5seconds
4.) put sd card back in and battery
5.) turn it on and see if you can download again
I tried all of the solutions listed here; switching Google accounts, downloading an app, then switching back to my main account solved it. Thanks so much!
I had the same problem, going to accounts and removing my google account then adding it again fixed the problem
I added new account with the sync app, open the market, switch account, download some apps, switch back to old account and download other app. This fixed the problem. Thanks.
How is your density set in build.prop, i had the same issue. Changing the density on 200 work for me

[Q] Reboot woes: disappearing/FC apps

Hi, everyone; adding to the flood of questions...
I've been having some issues after a reboot lately:
- a couple of my apps will disappear. Namely Line Runner and the Merriam Webster Dictionary. I did some searching on this earlier and people who have had similar problems said it was due to the apps being installed on SD. I moved them to the phone, which seemed to solve the problem, but:
- rebooting also seems to make me lose my latest Google Search and Maps updates. The market will prompt me to update these. These apps are already on the phone, so no clue how to fix that one. But the most annoying thing is:
- after reboot, several of my game apps will force close when I try to open them. It seems like it's the more processor-intense ones: Pew Pew, Osmos, Anomaly, World of Goo. I thought maybe it was because of the undervolting/underclocking settings I have (from GideonX), but the apps work fine (running quite smoothly) after I install them, as long as I don't reboot. As soon as I reboot, if I try to open them again I get FC. If I uninstall then reinstall, they run fine again.
Any ideas? I'm running Juggernaut 4.1 with faux's 009u kernel and, as I said above, Gideon's script. I tried one reboot back to faux's stock clock/voltage settings, but I still got FCs on the apps. Granted, I didn't try it again or give it time to settle in or anything.
Any thoughts, folks? Thanks!
fix permissions? fresh wipe and install? clear cache? fiddle around
Ah, forgot to mention. Tried all of the above (fix permissions, clear cache, reflashed ROM, even recovered to my pre-custom ROM backup and reflashed from there).
I did some more testing on this, and I think I've narrowed down the problem. I flashed back to stock voltage/clock settings under faux's kernel, then reinstalled one of the apps I had issues with (Osmos). Upon reboot it still ran okay. So it seems I won't get force closes after reboot IF the app was installed under stock settings.
Does anyone know why undervolting and/or underclocking would cause apps to force close only after reboot?
EDIT:
Well, never mind. I did some more testing, and what I thought worked last time didn't work again. Must have just gotten lucky that time. Sigh.
Try wiping your phone with darksides super wipe and clean flash a rom. Check the md5 sums to make sure youre not installing a bad download

Oh, wow, didn't even know about the existence of that tool. Will definitely give that a try when I have some free time this weekend. Hopefully I can report back with positive news.
Thanks!
Don't want to count my chickens, but using super wipe seems to have done the trick so far! Using super wipe before flashing Jugg 5.0 seems to have gotten rid of my problem of FC apps.
Thanks again!

random problems after unlock and root

hey guys, so i've an interesting problem that I've searched all over xda and google, but can't find a definitive answer/solution. Here goes:
I recently unlocked the bootloader of my t-mobile z2 force. rooted via temp flashing TWRP and magisk, everything went fine, no issues. restoring my phone went great, got a few "app unexpectedly closed" type messages every now and then, but it's settled down for the most part. the problem is that, periodically, my phone will lose sync with google (i think that's whats happening anyway). I will have no contacts in my phone app, text messages cannot be received, gmail fails to open, calendar has no events, etc etc. a quick reboot fixes everything, but then it will randomly happen again, with no indication, other than i think "i haven't recv'd any texts recently, lemme check" and i find it's happened again.
I hope this makes sense, because I'm not even sure i'm looking up the right thing in google or other xda forums. Has anyone experienced this? anyone know the answer?
Thanks in advance
Just a bump...anybody run into this or have any ideas?
I haven't had any problems like thoes. My Bluetooth goes a lil dumb from time to time and when I have wifi and Bluetooth on at the same time Bluetooth will just loose signal randomly. I'm just stock Rooted on T-Mobile.

My suggestion is to unroot, clear cache and Dalvik, and re root. See what happens and post results. Your app permissions are on for Google correct?
fastboot boot <TWRP file name>.img
Only now that you’re inside TWRP temporarily flash the TWRP .zip file you’ve saved into the phone
Reboot into TWRP again, flash Magisk

Thanks. Yes all permissions are granted for Google app. I also stopped battery optimization for it and any other phone related apps I could find. I'll give this a shot.
