Non Rooted Epic Touch.
For some reason, the option to mount SD card to PC when connecting it via USB, is no longer popping up in notifications.
The phone charges but I have to browse INTO settings to mount the SD card.
Any thoughts?

Is USB debugging enabled by any chance?
Yes. I confirmed in Applications>USB Debugging is enabled.
The only thing I can think of is to reinstall the lastest Samsung drivers on your PC- that should fix it. Use this link: Kies_2.0.2.11071_128

I cannot access my SD card when I connect it to my desktop, my pc sees it but I can only access the phone itself and not the sd card. It's a 2nd hand phone and the sd card is empty (no htc stuffs or anything) but it's definitely working.
Please help guys, I've been searching the forum for several hours and still cannot find the answer.
EDIT:
We can sync files into the SD card using HTC Sync but we cannot manually place (Typical drag files in and out) files via removable disk. Still cannot find any solution
Is debugging turned on or off?

Ifyou want to access the sdcard, you should choose the option to connect ad disk instead of sync or charge only.
If you're running a sense ROM, be sure to select "disk drive" in the USB menu when you connect the phone, not HTC Sync, etc.
Also, don't run HTC sync or just disconnect it after it starts, just let the computer recognize the phone as removable storage, not a phone.

Yeah, that's what I did first. I mounted it as a disk drive. I only synced it with HTC sync to just install the drivers. I'ma go try one more time.
Okay, solved by doing a restore factory settings and formatting the SD card.
Please close this thread mods Thanks!
Hi, So ever since I had my phone I was never able to get the SD to mount on my computer when I plug the phone in the USB. I even went into the system and turning on the mass storage. Is there another driver beside the one found on the samsung website? Because of this I can not get my phone rooted with CWM. if anyone can help that would be great!

Turn USB debugging on. Plug it into the computer. It should make a connection noise. Pull down the notification on your phone and connect mass storage. Your phone should say mass storage connected. If it is not connected as a drive on your computer go to control panel, system, device manager and see where it connected, either "other" or under USB ports as samsung android or something. Click on that and hit update driver. It may take a half hour to find and install all the drivers needed. Then reboot your computer and phone. You should be able to connect then.

This morning i was transfering data between my laptop and my phone. When i was done I clicked to remove the drive from the computer and unplugged the usb cable from the phone. Later I went to hook it back up and a strange thing is happening. When I plug the phone in it gives me the option to tether, mass storage or charge, like it always does. When I hit mass storage and then press connect it won't. The wierd thing is that my computer shows a removable mass disk drive, its like it knows it is there. It is just waiting for the phone to connect. When i double click it in my computer it says connect the drive, or something like that. I have tried powering off my phone and battery pull but that did not help. I does this on my laptop and my desktop so I know it is not the computers. Anyone have any clues.
Try to go into settings then storage click unmount let it do its thing then click remount. Also can you see the drive in file explorer?
I can see it in my computer as disk f. File explorer never pops up.
File explorer on the phone.

This same damn thing happened to me after Odin. I couldn't root my phone for the life of me. I ended up Odining (is that a word?) EH06 that includes root,Busybox, etc. Then did nandroid restore, then rfs to EXT4 zip. Uugh, what a PITA. Still haven't fixed mine

Every time I plug in my phone to the PC the drives automount, I have dev mode enabled, but I remember it used to be that I had to click on "Connect" in the notification dropdown to connect them originally.
There are programs that automount the drives, I don't have any of these installed. I'm on Blazer 4.0 ... Does anyone know if there is a setting to turn off this automounting, so it only connects the USB( SD card, and internal ) when I click on the mount?
I'd really rather have the choice then have it just auto mount everytime. Any ideas?
Hello Guys and girls,
Is there an option on the Huawei Ascend Mate wich allows you to charge the phone with the USB cable.
If I put the cable in my computer it always goes to my SD-card, HiSuite, Camera (PTP) or Media (MTP).
But I don't want to connect to the computer, but I want it charging.
It's still charging if it's connected, but all my music is on my SD card, wich isn't mounted at that time.

mine automatically checks the last option...
so the sd card automatically unmounts and mounts to the pc.
it wont mount in pc unless one of the options is clicked. let it remain with the far bottom option 'remind me'...
if its mounted on pc, just disconnect from the icon in the pc taskbar (commonly in green color icon for usb connection)...it will simply mount back to the HAM automatically....
its one of a safety function in most of phones today without any option of "charge only"....sometimes the excess currents can effect the sdcard (there were some news before about it)...
and yes, its not samsung, its Huawei and this Huawei devices mostly lives longer than sammy...just my 2 cents..

On my Mate it always mounts as "USB Storage Device" even when the "Always prompt me" option is checked. I've also noticed that it no longer mounts the internal storage just the external SD card. When I look through the file manager on the phone I noticed that the internal storage used to be located at mnt/sdcard and the external SD card was located at mnt/sdcard2. But now both mnt/sdcard and mnt/sdcard2 point to the external SD card and the internal storage is now located at mnt/shell/emulated. Does anyone know how to fix this so internal storage mounts on my computer again? I'm using a Mac.
