Hi, So ever since I had my phone I was never able to get the SD to mount on my computer when I plug the phone in the USB. I even went into the system and turning on the mass storage. Is there another driver beside the one found on the samsung website? Because of this I can not get my phone rooted with CWM. if anyone can help that would be great!

Turn USB debugging on. Plug it into the computer. It should make a connection noise. Pull down the notification on your phone and connect mass storage. Your phone should say mass storage connected. If it is not connected as a drive on your computer go to control panel, system, device manager and see where it connected, either "other" or under USB ports as samsung android or something. Click on that and hit update driver. It may take a half hour to find and install all the drivers needed. Then reboot your computer and phone. You should be able to connect then.

For some reason, my phone will not give me the option to mount my SD card as a disk drive all of a sudden...
I'm using CM 7.0.2.1 with Tiamat 3.3.8 as my kernel. Anyone know how I might be able to fix it?? I'm trying to put KingdomRom on it but can't because I can't mount .
I've also tried a full wipe and reinstalling the ROM with a different kernel...and I'm still not getting anything. I've tried multiple USB cords as well.
I would try unmounting your SD card in Settings then reboot the phone.
Didn't work . I thought originally it might have something to do with the kernel, but I've changed to a different one and it still isn't working.
When you connect your phone to the computer, does the charging light come on? What happens when you tap the notification that says your phone is connected to the computer? Do you get the screen with the option to mount and it doesn't, or do you not get the notification at all?
Have you tried using something like Widgetsoid to toggle usb mount? I had a similar problem on Sense and using a widget to toggle mounting the phone as disk drive was the only way I could get it to work.

Also, what recovery are you using?

Using ClockworkMod. I just stupidly reformatted my SD card after reflashing my ROM, so now once I am able to redownload GApps, I'm gonna download one of the widgets (might try AutoSync, too) and see if I can make progress in the morning.
Update: Got Market back on, downloaded Widgetsoid, enabled USB Mount...and still nothing. I've tried on 2 computers now with different USB cables and nothing.
Is it saying that your phone is connected to your PC at all? It could be your USB port, or your cable is going bad. Try plugging it in to the computer and jiggling the plug near the phone's usb port and see if it tries to connect. If it does, you may have to move it around until you get it to connect and then be very careful not to move anything while transferring files. Also if you have wifi you can transfer files by using an app from the market called wifi file explorer. They have a free and a paid version. Does you phone connect when you mount it to the computer in recovery mode? Does the charging light come on when you plug it in to your computer? Really more info is needed to diagnose your problem. There are also widgets in the market that will allow you to mount the phones storage without unmounting the card from the phone. Maybe this will work for you. Maybe the card is going bad? Who knows, but hopefully some of my suggestions help. If all else fails, you could always do it the old fashioned way and power the phone off, take the card out and plug it directly into your computer via the adapter if needed.
Yes, I do receive a charge light when I plug it into the computers USB. Android just does not provide the option to mount as a disk drive.
I like the Wifi File Explorer Idea. It sounds like a good alternative. Thanks so much to everyone for their suggestions!
Ever since I loaded Skyraider 4 on my Dinc when I plug my phone into my computer via data cable it will not let me use mass storage mode. I have my phone set to "disk drive" as default and to ask me every time it's plugged it but it does not ask me anything when it is plugged into a computer now since Skyraider. The computer sees 2 drives when I plug the phone in but when I try to access them it says "please insert disk into drive G:". No matter what I do to the "connect to PC" settings i cannot get it to access my internal and SD memory through my computer. Is this a known issue with skyraider?
Meh, looks like I'm going back to stock UI. I can't find anything about this issue and I can't be having a phone that is inaccessible to a computer. I'll bet the issue stems from skyraider's change to the plug/unplug profile that makes the phone stay off when plugged and unplugged from a power source.
I bet you just had a bad flash. Wipe everything, and then wipe some more. Be sure to format /system too. Then flash skyraider, and when it rebooted, without any of yyour apps installed, plug it into your computer and see what happens

This morning i was transfering data between my laptop and my phone. When i was done I clicked to remove the drive from the computer and unplugged the usb cable from the phone. Later I went to hook it back up and a strange thing is happening. When I plug the phone in it gives me the option to tether, mass storage or charge, like it always does. When I hit mass storage and then press connect it won't. The wierd thing is that my computer shows a removable mass disk drive, its like it knows it is there. It is just waiting for the phone to connect. When i double click it in my computer it says connect the drive, or something like that. I have tried powering off my phone and battery pull but that did not help. I does this on my laptop and my desktop so I know it is not the computers. Anyone have any clues.
Try to go into settings then storage click unmount let it do its thing then click remount. Also can you see the drive in file explorer?
I can see it in my computer as disk f. File explorer never pops up.
File explorer on the phone.

Hi guys, I am having a problem with my HTC WFS a510c, I am trying to follow this guide here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399872) to s-off the phone, but I am unable to get the phone to connect in "disk drive" mode. I have the drivers installed, the computer recognizes the phone and shows the drive in explorer but does not show up in the gold card creator. Or when trying to open it from explorer it says "please insert a disk". The last time I connected through the usb cable this worked fine i was able to move pictures and music back and forth, but as soon as I went to try this it wont work. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you guys in advance.
Did you select mass storage in the menu that comes after connecting the usb??? And BTW you need to use a Card reader to create a goldcard.

I did pick that option on the phone when it asked, ive had it working in the past.
Thank you for the advice on Gold Card Creator, I was just confused in the guide it said to plug the phone in and pick mass storage mode. Will try using my card reader thank you again.
Thank you for the tip about using a card reader, I am now S-off and Rooted, thanks again.
The only problem I am having is my phone is still not functioning as a USB storage device
could be a hardware problem on the phone......try another usb cable.....it might be that your usb cable is malfunctioning

Ill give that a shot, and hopefully that will solve it. It's just been an odd problem because the computer recognizes the phone and installs drivers and everything just now joy with storage mode.
my storage mode stopped working after i installed link2sd and made an ext2 partition. wifes still works with 2 FAT32 partitions using the same cable.
Mine stopped working before I did link2sd or data2sd, not sure what caused it, just ordered a new cable today and sd card, to see if that helps it.

i've reached a solution but its retarded and time wasting which is restarting the phone (and sometimes the pc) which also tell me that its not a usb cable problem...

Since I have installed this update I can no longer access the storage on my one via usb to pc? Before the update I would just plug the usb in and windows would ask if I wanted to open this mass storage device and I would just click yes and then I was in. Now there is nothing. I tried explorer but cant gain access that way either. Is there something I need to install or change in the phones settings now? Also what the hell is MTP mode? Running stock 4.3 now and was stock 4.2.2 before this update. Do I need to update a driver on my pc now to accommodate 4.3? I am drawing a blank now as to what the deal is??? Can someone please point me in the right direction? And yes I have tried different usb cables
MTP mode is what google uses since 4.2. basically instead of the phone dividing up the available memory for apps / storage it now puts all available storage together for you to use what you need it for. before you would get phones with 8gb storage and 1gb would be dedicated to apps, 7gb for storage. when you installed too many apps you would run out of room on the 1gb and start trying to figure out how you could move apps to sd-card to get more storage, etc... now with MTP you don't have that issue. there is no preset to how much storage can be used for what.
you should not need any additional drivers other than what windows will automatically install when a new device is plugged in. also, my phone shows as a device now in explorer and not as a drive letter.
is it possible when you plugged your phone in via usb cable that you accidentally cancelled the new device install? perhaps you can go to your device manager with the phone plugged in and see if there are any devices with an yellow ! point and then try to reinstall drivers for that device.
I don't understand. MTP mode is the only way that the HTC One ever interacted with a PC. To my knowledge, Google removed USB Mass Storage as of JB 4.1
