How to change BootLogo? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can i change bootlogo at ARHD 6.1.1 with Revolution Sense Theme?

I believe it's normal under /data/local/
There should be a file called htc_bootanimation.zip.
It differs on various ROMs but hopefully this will help. You also need to make the file system writable.

This zip doesen´t work.. someone can fix it for me? would be nice

How do you mean it doesn't work? You tried renaming it to htc_bootanimation.zip?
As I've never used ARHD I'm only guessing it's the same as RCMix3d.

If it was called bootanimation.zip to start with leave it as that. Download a working animation and try that. I'm guessing you know how to mount the system directory so you can copy and paste etc...?
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium

I've copied bootanimation.zip to my SD card, replaced the 30 frame animation (all the 30 png files) with my own images, renamed the original /data/local/bootanimation.zip to /data/local/bootanimation.old.zip and copied my own into the /data/local/ folder...
After restart my own bootanimation did not showed up sadly!
Any suggestions?

no-one does know this?

it works with arhd 3.3 for me

[Bootanimation] Honeycomb Xoom boot animation

HiJust thought i would post this up for everyone to see.. I take no credit.. But it does work on our phones..
All credit to tntdroid from android central forums..
Also Big thanks to irieme for fixing it to work at 480x800, it looks perfect now thx!
bootanimation.zip for adding to system/media or data/local
and CWM flashable zip which will add it to system/media for you...
Make sure you have moved/deleted any other custom boot animation you had on your phone before..
If you want to go back to stock then just delete/move the bootanimation.zip file from the folder you put it in and you will be back at stock.
Simples!
how about posting a video or GIF how it looks ?

Also if you don't like it you can always delete the bootanimation.zip and return to samsung default boot screen.

no copy to system/media or data/local with root explorer..
if you want to flash it with cwm you need to make the update.zip using one you already have.. and replace the file that it was previously used for with the bootanimation.zip in either the system/media folder or data/local.
Make sense?
Works like a charm. Thank you very much-

He may have put his own one in data/local if you see a bootanimation.zip in there move it to your SD card incase you want to use it again.
Then the honey one in system/media should work hopefully.

In /data/local there's a "tmp" named folder and inside it there's a .lck file.
In /system/media there's also the shutdown animation in a folder, but it shouldn't affect this boot animation I think, or does it?
It's so wonderful !!!

Now it works.. it just had something to do with me moving the bootanimation.zip to /system/media in the first place.
Maybe because it didn't replace the excisting file but it renamed itself.
Then I deleted the old bootanimation and renamed the new one.
Now that I deleted all the zip's and then moved the animation, it works perfectly, thanks!

[Q]BootAnimations?

I don't find any thread regarding bootanimations on Desire Z so I would like to ask some questions as I am new to this.
I managed to successfully root my Desire z and I have installed [ROM][6/5/11] InsertCoin_Vision Sense2.1 + 3.0 (v1.5) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080999).
Now I would like to know how to change the bootanimations, I did some searching on the site and found the following guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846394).
Problem is there are several method and there's a specific method for Sense ROM. If I am using InserCoin with Vision Sense 2.1, which method should I follow?
Any ideas or advise on this? Thank you.
Easiest way to change boot animations is using something like root explorer. Download the boot animation you want and make sure it is named bootanimation.zip the copy it to system/customize/ resource and set the permissions correctly.
If check the themes and apps sections of other handsets you will find loads of boot animations. So will even be packaged as flashable zips
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA Premium App
I tried to wipe all the data in /data/local using root explorer and put the bootanimation.zip. Nothing showed up when I reboot my Z.
I browsed to system/customize/resource and found there's the default bootanimation.zip from HTC. I have backed that up and was going to overwrite it with the new bootanimation.zip but it won't allow me because the file system is read only. I tried to change the permission but no luck.
Any help with this?

top right corner of the screen when you're in root explorer there is a little switch which says r/w. click it then you will be able to back up you original boot animation, and paste a new one in

[Q] Wildfire CM7 Fingerprint needed

Hi All,
Have made a bit of a rookie mistake - have changed my wildfire CM7 fingerprint for market patching, but I think this is screwing with my skyFire optimisation routine as it thinks I have a Nexus 1 now.
Needless to say I forgot to back it up first and now do not have the original values from before.
Can someone supply the contents of thier wildfire system/default.prop file so I can restore it at all?
CyanogenMod-7.0.3-buzz
Thanks
Just open The zip file with the Rom

Thanks Jonas, simple when you think really Much appreciated though.
Turns out it wasnt that screwing with skyfire anyway - I'm just not destined to be able to get iPlayer on wildfire at all. Period.
Ok. For unpatching the market I think you need system/build.prop and system/apps/vending.apk. And there is also another file which I don't remember correctly. here attaching some files of nightly 115. I think the market unpatching values should be same with stable 7.0.3
Just edit the values . but this time make a backup of your files. if anything goes wrong , mount the system via recovery and push your backed up files from adb. remember the permissions should be. rw-r-r.
And clear data and cache for market and Google services framework before and after doing this.
As as already suggested, you can have those files from your rom zip file which will be perfect if you had it.

Putting the file in that location should do the trick IF you are running a kernel that has boot animations enabled. Samsung uses some .qmg format for their boot animations but thankfully the wonderful devs here have enabled the use of bootanimation.zip to work.
@dddsj, you might not have the right kind of kernel.
@rsegura77, I thought Synergy had this enabled so I don't know what to tell you. Was there and existing bootanimation.zip in that folder and if so did you rename it or move it to another lcoation prior to copying the new zip there?

You need a kernel that supports bootanimation.zip. Using root explorer, go to system/media and move old bootanimation.zip to sd card. Place new file in system/media and reboot. That's it! Just make sure that any boot animation you try is renamed to bootanimation.zip or it won't work

Not sure if Bullet supports it but there is no harm in trying. Don't replace the existing .qmg files. Just copy bootanimation.zip to that directory. If bullet supports it then you'll have a new animation and if not then you'll see the one you currently have. It shouldn't hurt anything to put the zip in there even if your kernel doesn't support it.
All I did was delete the old bootanimation.zip and pasted the new file in the same place but the only boot, animation I see is the default that comes with zombie rom I did notice I have the following files bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.any

I honestly don't understand why Android "kills" the Apple? I could understand Android to WM, but iOS and Android are derived from unix, which technically makes them "cousin" OS's.

NO!
1st:- download root explorer from play store.
2nd:-download the above file bootanimation.zip to any location on your SD card.
3rd:-then using root explorer copy the file bootanimation.zip and paste and overright it inside system/media/(folder).. or delete the bootanimation.zip file there and then paste it..(!!! also u can copy the original bootanimation.zip form the media folder to your sdcard as a backup.
4th:-after pasting the file at the location just restart the phone Woo..la..la.. your are done...:victory:
You can just save the bootanimation.zip file to your /data/local folder. That doesn't require root and also you won't have to redo it every time you update to a new nightly, for example.
I just flashed the latest nightly and the new boot animation has been added to it.
