Noticed the wifi scans a lot-every 3 seconds. Any way to turn down the scan frequency? Thinking of adding- wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=60 to build prop. Would that work?

I am recently rooted and my wifi tether keeps disconnecting after just a few minutes. I am running stock rom with netarchy kernel. I tried different versions of the Wireless Tether app and I am currently running pre 7 which seems to stay connected the longest. But still disconnects. Any suggestions from the Masters would be great.
Thanks.
Seems to be a common problem with all versions of the app...

Happens when the screen shuts off. I just set my screen for a 20 minute timeout and it doesnt happen to me.
they need to add the "prevent sleep" feature and then it wouldnt be a problem. Not sure why they havent done this yet. this problem has been around for quite some time.
I had the same problem of it disconnecting on me after a few minutes. Turned out the problem on my system was a program called tasker that would turn the wifi on every few minutes to verify my location. When it did the check, it knocked tether off. Make sure you don't have a program running that would turn the wifi off.
I turned off the Screen Timeout and I got the same thing. It stayed connected for 7 minutes and then disconnected. This is driving me nuts.
I'm running Pre 9 and I haven't had a single disconnect for like the last 3 hours. Give it a try.
I was having the same issue. Disabled the wake lock...the screen dims, but never shuts off. I left it on all night the other night while downloading "things"...never timed out.
I have a few profiles set up to turn WiFi on when connected to certain cell towers (around my house and work).
I noticed since 4.1.1. WiFi keeps turning itself off despite the Tasker profile being active. Often times it will be on and connected then when I check my phone later, it's simply off. If I turn WiFi back on manually it turns itself off again.
I added the 15 second wait to the exit task thinking that there was trouble between cell tower transitions and 15 seconds would be enough for my phone to sort itself out, but it hasn't fixed the problem.
My profile is set:
Cell Near
> Set WiFi On
< Wait 15 Seconds/Set WiFi Off
Is this a Tasker Issue with 4.1.1 or is it some Radio issue? I flashed the 4.1.1 radio with JB, XXLF1 or something...

To the OP, did anybody help you with this problem? I am in the same boat.
Thanks
I stopped using tasker to automate WiFi and I no longer have the problem. Some api must have changed that ruined tasker's ability or my profile.
This happens with every JB rom I have tried. GPS fix makes no difference and it is time related to about 20 mins even if I reboot the lock is lost straight away. If I turn off properly it locks for another 10 mins or so then loses it. Hardware problem ?
Just installed stock android 7 a week ago and the last few days wifi, Bluetooth (sometimes) and tethering (wired, wifi, bluetooth) will turn off if the screen turns off. And when tethering of working it is extremely slow. Like takes a few mins to load Google slow. Is anyone else noticing that this year and I've looked around and apparently the tethering being slow happens on Android 6 but that's after phone is been up for a couple of days I rebooted the phone and it was fast for 30 seconds. I'm getting speed test 40 megabits down from my server on my phone so that's not the problem
For wifi, you can try going into the wifi settings, clicking on the settings icon and change "keep wifi on during sleep" to always.
You can also try uninstalling and reinstaling the Google Connectivity Services app.
I use Timur's latest Version. But after a Week it starts to lose GPS exatct every 5 minutes, but only if the Tablet was in sleep mode for a few houres. If I start it new ists okay.
Does anyone know why?
